Great episode with lots of useful information. I’m not sure many people see tinned fruit and veg (as long as they’re not in syrup) as “ultra processed” and in some circumstances tinned can be more nutritious than “fresh”. Also, while there certainly is room for ultra processed food in a healthy diet, the balance is the main issue (50% of the adult diet coming from UPF, with the % of children’s diets estimated as being higher than this). I appreciate the nuanced nature of the discussion (unlike the approach of the Glucose Goddess). It’s never one thing - and deep down we all know this - but it’s so tempting to fall for these silver bullet solutions. Keep up the good work!👍

Yea I was thinking their idea of UPF was odd ... Tinned, frozen fruit/veg, often is simply the fruit/veg - just processed a bit extra. To make it an ultra processed food it'll need several additional ingredients (typically stuff you wouldn't find in your average kitchen!)
