But when i set those boundaries, they perceive me as being unreasonable.

Great video. Likes your example. A few days ago a new friend stood me up when we had 9 am breakfast appointment. I messaged her that I was waiting but I didn’t hear from her until when I was about to leave the restaurant after having my breakfast. She apologised and said being late is acceptable but not missing an appointment, please don’t be upset with me she said. I told her it happens and that I wasn’t upset. So did I do the right thing? What else I could have said or done. She said if you wait I’ll be over there. I said I had planned my day around our appointment and that I have other things to do, and we can meet another time.

I never seek the approval of others. I only speak truth and I answer only to my Sovereign.

I wish I had learned this when I was younger. I've learned it since then, but I still have a lot of resentment for all the times I put up with disrespect in the past... it's like I want to go back and have those interactions with those people again but this time speak up and stand up for myself. I'm learning to let all of that go and to just be the person I am now. Thank you, Dr. Marcia!

Perfectly said. The word “nice” is not in my vocabulary. Thanks Dr. Marcia

Good solid video. One of the best I've seen on this topic. I like that you mention being kind to yourself just as equally that really hit home. Thanks,

Yep. The more you set boundaries, the more they see it as an insult to them

Wow, the power one can have by manipulating a definition, and coming up with such a convincing concept, that every one in the comment section are now believers! Impressive.

There is no difference. Being kind , respectful and polite means being nice and everybody should be.
