As a Canadian, the reason why we call the little donuts 'Timbits' is because they are bite size and they come from a little Canadian cafe called 'Tim Hortons' :) Also the Cafe Tim Hortons was named after a deceased Canadian Hockey player named 'Tim Horton'

I'm an aussie that has been living in New Zealand this year and also spent 3 months in Canada and can confirm all these things are accurate except they say 'bud' more than 'buddy'.
