Love the videos and thank you for all you do in educating us on fine Asian relics and artifacts. I consider you one of the most knowledgeable. I hope you are fully recovered from your illness. Come to Lansing Michigan and I will roll out the Red Carpet and have a ticker tape parade for ya. I think I have lots for you to see here.

Really appreciate you putting your self out there and sharing what you have learned. I look forward to more talks and seeing your collection. Im sure you will get more comfortable with time and I will be laughing at these early video. Your fun personality shine through and I feel like I’m in the room with you looking over your shoulder.

That's exactly what I want! People to be able to see these things for what they are. The small details that you can only have if you handle them, and look at them up close! I appreciate you watching, and coming on the journey with me. 🙂

Congratulations! Peter Combs watching and commenting on your videos is a big ole fluffy, showy, shiny, thick feather in your cap. That's freaking amazing! So cool! (I think I'm more excited than you are.) I have yet to see a plique in the wild, but I am looking forward to finding a piece someday.

Very happy to help, friend. 🙂 Afraid I'll have to remake it and include open work cloisonné, as it's often confused with champlevé.

It’s OK to make a mistake that’s how you learn . Back in the 1980s my home was full of Asian art .Taste change sold it all but kept some of my Cloisonné

That's very nice of you to say. It's daunting, when I think about what I could possibly contribute to the conversation. What with watching experts seamlessly speak to a million different objects. I have to do hours of research just to figure out what type of art something is, sometimes! Haha, let alone where it came from or who made it... Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate you.

You need one of the evolution of Cloisonne sales sets, as do I. I think of how nice it would be to have one every time I show someone my collection. No one has had any idea what I was showing them yet.

What's the difference between canton enamel and the other 3 types you mention?
@besticanaffordantiques2565 Жыл бұрын
Canton enamel is basically enamel painting, as far as I understand it. Just painting in a different medium (enamel versus paint), which I'm sure has its own challenges.

I just happened to rabbit hole (maybe the first time used as a verb) into your site and am happy I did. Trying to better understand Champleve v. Cloisonne. Anyway, FWIW, -Kyoto is a two-syllable pronunciation. at least as pronounced in Japan., Pronounce Kyo - toe. Not - key yo toe. Happy New Year to ya.

Hahaha, close! But not it, I don't think. Like french or Latin for when you add something to something...starts with an R....hahaha, I don't know why I can't think of it.

@@besticanaffordantiques2565 I've only ever seen them in auction Catalogues and they looked tiny, nice to know they are an item a person can display on a shelf with a presence. The fund might have emptied but it really didn't since you can enjoy the item, a stack of cash never seems to have the same nuance of a favorite object.
