You forgot perhaps the most important indicator when it comes to the quality of the design: *where is the heel placed.* Well designed heels will place the heel so that its center is right under the heel of your foot - NOT at the far back of your foot. I'm guessing that's why you felt that the shoes at 7:50 were comfortable at first despite the cheap material - the heel seems to be correctly placed where the center of your heel would be. In the end that quality design is of course wasted on shoes where they've cut so many corners on the materials, but the true Goldilocks shoes will have both good design and good materials.

Btw, I don't know if you've seen this where you are, but here (in the US) I noticed just yesterday some folks seem to be catching on and are making it **look** like their boots for instance are stitched together (when they're really glued) by having a stitch pattern on the rubber! I had to look quite close (in-store) to determine whether it was real or fake. This was a lower-end pricey shoe, so not entirely surprising, but definitely eye-opening. Thought I would share that with you to look out for! 😃 Take care! xx

That pair on the left in the thumbnail looks EXACTLY like my very favorite ever pair of shoes. I got them at age 13 from Payless and they lasted me (roughly 19...yes, NINETEEN!) *YEARS,* until they sat in a storage unit (long story) for 18mo or so and got moldy. I might have maybe been able to fix them up but at the time, I just cried as I threw them away. I'm not a girly girl nor am I a shoe girl. Not by a long shot. But when dressy shoes are required by society for various things, those were the best ever. I still miss them.

Professional ballroom shoes could be an option. Lots of them are very glam. Theres a UK company (I cant remember the name) that's allows you to customise the shoes - you choose the width, heel height and heel style for about £100. The best thing is these shoes are made to support the feet so I presume are going to be more comfortable than standard heels.

This is a good question, thank you. It really depends what brand it is. You have brands that sell shoes that are €60 and the quality is amazing. It really depends on the brand.. are they known for quality products or is it a win or lose situation? Let’s say Clark’s is having a sale and you can purchase their shoes for €40 that’s a good deal but if you are about to buy a pair of heels of a fast fashion brand that’s known for their bad quality stuff you can assume the heels will be of bad quality. Is this a clear answer??

Any advice for finding skin tone heels, for dark skin women?

Exactly the problem i ALWAYS have. I believe that the nude heel is much more valuable than the typical black heel that women buy all the time and pair with everything. The nude elongate your legs very beautifully and once you have the right shade it simply melts into the skin. I do not have a dark skin tone, i am biracial so kind of a sand color (think about beyonce skin color), and even i struggle a lot to find nude heels. They are NEVER nude first of all and what pisses me off the most is that if you’re a woman of color, your nude isn’t in the category “nude”. You must search for “brown hees”, “caramel color” and all that jazz. I find it stupid that brands don’t put such colors in nudes. It makes finding the right heel so time consuming.

Boot nerd here. There must be stitching on the top and bottom of the shoe and it must line up. Or use her trick for stitchdown and blake stitch, where sometimes the stitching through the shoe is not visible. "Genuine leather" and "bonded leather" can mean leather dust glued together. Also, sometimes companies will take a cheap, hollow, plastic heel and put leather or even paper that looks like leather on top to make it appear to be a leather heel stack. DO NOT BE FOOLED

Hi sis, so funny that your talking about good vs bad heels. I normally buy like the cheap heels from Zalando/Asos under the €25. Just for fun and the color and to wear them to church or parties. When it comes to me going to work or a business event I wear like the normal "blokhak". There are these brands that sell very bad quality shoes such as Anna Field. One time I bought like a Zara look a like shoe and everytime I was wearing it I almost tripped on the street. The brand Glamorous also sells shoes from very low quality. My heels are 3 cm and im almost always twisting my ankle. 😅 but the worst was a heel from New Look. I was walking one day and the heel just litteraly broke of my shoes. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 that was the first time it happend to me in 24 years. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 (talking about bad shoes)!

So I wear size 37 (Eu size)->this is my size for sneakers actually. I do ballroom dancing and the heels I have are 5cm high and the size is I think 36 1/2 and it fits perfectly but when I try other high heels it’s loose on the back or it’s tight in front….I don’t know which size I just should buy! Size 37 is big because it’s loose from the back but size 36 is kind tight from the front and loose? from the back?? What’s that…? Help🫤🥲😩🤌🏻
