Thank you for this helpful distinction! Two clarifying questions: 1. How do you prevent kids from getting into the pigeonhole, “The author uses motif/repetition/anaphora” when discussing choice? 2. How do you distinguish choice from purpose? Is choice more small scale?

I'll create a video that answers these questions in more detail this week, but the best way to get kids from doing that is outlawing these words: uses, utilizes, and employs. More to come ;)
