Liverpool were a powerhouse last season but injuries & Klopp’s departure shook things up. Arne Slot however didn’t try to reinvent the wheel. Instead he made smart adjustments. Where Klopp thrived on high-intensity pressing & rapid transitions, Slot has introduced a more measured controlled style. Yet when the moment demands the team can still switch to full Klopp mode as seen when they chase quick goals. While Klopp brought Liverpool back to life with his emotional leadership in 2015, Slot’s calm & methodical approach feels perfect for this phase. Klopp’s passion drove incredible highs but it also came with periods of burnout. Slot in contrast avoids any drama. His focus on consistency & gradual improvement has steadied the ship even when challenges arise. The results are clear. Despite no major signings Liverpool are leading both EPL & UCL. Slot’s straightforward methods have removed the weight of expectation letting players focus on performing without the pressure of larger narratives. After years of thrilling chaotic football under Klopp, Slot’s more composed style might be exactly what Liverpool needed. By building on the intensity Klopp established & adding a touch of calm, Slot has set Liverpool on a path which ensures long-term success...

A smooth transition. Klopp built this Liverpool team and passed the baton on to Slott who will run with it. Does anyone remember the great Bill Shankley and handing the reigns over to Bob Paisley? If Slot keeps going the same way, this could be remarkably similar to Shankly and Paisley. Bill Shankly built Liverpool from the 2nd Division to champions of England and FA Cup winners. Shankly was emotional, got everyone on his side, his side played with passion. Shankly suddenly retires in 1974 and Bob Paisley reluctantly takes the job. With the same squad, Paisley wins the championship in his 2nd season and UEFA Cup. Paisley transforms Liverpool into the best team in Europe, winning the European Cup in 1977, 1978 and 1981. He brings in a young Souness, Hansen and Kenny Dalglish to replace Keegan. When the team was on the decline in 1981, he replaces half the team with a new set of young players who all go on to become legends. Liverpool are the best in Europe because Paisley is a tactical mastermind and ruthless. Liverpool can play possession football, counter attacking, play the high line with Grobbellaar sweeping behind. They can mimic any type of football depending on the occasion. They make incredible team goals with one touch movement. Decades later Slot is doing the same thing. If Slot has half of Liverpool's success as Paisley, he will be happy. It is almost uncanny that this scenario appears to be repeating.

As a Liverpool fan, somehow I find the games more pleasurable to watch. The games just have a nice flow about them, and you don't sit there worried. Last year, Klopp's Liverpool kept letting the first goal in within the first 10 mins of the game, can't remember the statistic but it wasn't good reading, or watching. It then resulted in a game where teams would sit back, with a 1 goal cushion, and let Liverpool attack relentlessly. One of my main cristicisms of Man City really, the games aren't good because of teams shutting up shop playing for 1 point.

I'll say with the amount of game in England, the real concern will be the player's fitness. Like what Slot once said, don't judge us now, he probably understand the intensity of games in PL and the amount of game will need to be played in all four competitions. I do notice, he did not hesitated to substitute key player in the match even they are losing or player is on the complete a hat trick. I'll said his performance will only can be judge at the end of the season, no one will know how the players can handle after 35 matches, not once teams has been slipping up for points. At current stage, I'll said as a Liverpool fans, I'm very satisfied with his manage on the team.

"standard to win the premier league has dropped" Why do people keep saying this? Liverpool are the new standard. They're on 2.44 points per game so far which would leave them on 92/93 points on their current from .

Klopp is the modern day Shankly. Can Arne be the modern day Paisley?

Watched Robertson pick the ball up in his corner, charge down the touchline and whip a ball in with some pace, to the centre circle. It was jarring to see, but Diaz made a move like he was expecting it and was able to control it, in space, before moving it on. Before, there might have been a one-two pass and Robertson would continue bombing forward, or maybe there would have been a switch in play. Instead, it's like they are switching through channels, looking for the most efficient way through, like a Turing Tumble.

The technical players like Jota, Gakpo seem to be better in Slot's system this year, but I'm not sure why as I need to watch more football analysis videos like yours. MacAllister and Szoboslai hopefully will become world class. With Jota, Konate and Alison back, Liverpool will play better. Ryan too, doing well. Is releasing the ball at the right moments something like what Bournemouth did to Manchester United yesterday? The goal that made the Manchester United defenders chased shadows.

FINALLY an indepth and clear insight about the differences between Klopp ans Slots' tactics. Not so lazy as the socalled "mainstream media pundits... 🎉

Slot team is much more Tactical and well drilled than Klopp team and not to mention interplays, one twos, and Defensively Slot is far better most goals we conceded are individual errors

Klopp has built a good racing car Slot is driving it better.

One very visible difference is Slot is giving more playing time to Salah & Diaz which helps for those two in term of consistency.

Klopps intensity when attacking + slots composure while in buildup. This new recipe gonna cook for a long period of time.

There's a big difference,n I love slot more than Klop, slot is tactical ,Klop just use his style of ply.

Klopp is rock'n roll, Slot is a brilliant melody with careful set up.

Some people have no dimension of how good and consistent the Klopp era was. Liv won the league with 99 points, also came in 2nd with 97points while winning the Ucl that year, and came second again with 93 points. To put it in perspective, the Cr7 era United who won the premier 3 times have not made more than 90 points, also the invincibles Arsenal scored exactly 90 points as well. Klopp just had the bad luck having Pep with a bilionaire team against him, and Slot is having some luck in running against the worst season of Pep in City

Klopp must be annoyed.... he leaves and City capitulate, Arsenal not as good as last season, Chelsea still building.... Liverpool walking to the title of which Klopp would have done the same if he had stayed.

If Arne keeps this up, with City’s decline, if Fenway manages to secure the extension of key players and recruit well to replace aging superstars, we could see Liverpool dominate for a solid ten years.

I was so bummed when Amorim said no, as i thought he would be ideal to be the next manager for LFC and when they announced Slott I was not sure even though his brief resume was bright. Needless to say, I think we dodged a bullet as Amorim wouldn't have been able to mold the players in the squad to fit his tactics whereas the players we have turned out to be very aptly suited for the tactics Slott wants to use. His slowed down pace and willingness to pass back and control the play. Slott ball is akin to drinking a fine wine or sipping a well aged whiskey whereas Klopp ball was more like chugging beers and doing keg stands. It's a blast but not exactly sustainable every weekend.

Obviously things have to play out for Slot, but a good comparison would be Shankly and Paisley. Shankly kick started things but Paisley improved things from there. Klopp connected with the club and the city and brought success but had taken them as far as he could. Slot has taken on Klopps team and indications are that he is improving on that. Neither Paisley nor Slot could have done what Shankly and Klopp did and vice versa. So we’ll see if Slot lives up to the Paisley comparison.

The only real downside of Slot is the period after he leaves your club, where you start realizing there is no one else like him. Damn, we wish the guy all the best in the world, but we miss him every day in Rotterdam.

But what will happen after the January transfer window when (potentially) their biggest 3 players have all signed pre-agreements with other teams for FREE in the summer??👀

Seeing how well this squad is performing makes me feel even worse for Klopp. There's really no difference in the squad from this season and last season other than tactics and injuries. I have no doubt in my mind that if Liverpool didn't suffer so many injuries last season, they would've gone on to win the lot. Klopp probably still would've left, but he would've left on a much sweeter note. Credit to Slot though. He has transformed Liverpool to something else. We went from Heavy Metal Football with Klopp, to a more Strictly Business Football with Slot. As much as I will miss those chaotic 4-3 or 3-2 wins, I think I like the calm 2-0 or 3-1 wins that Slot provides.

Sounds similar to Iraola at Bournemouth although Iraola would increase the tempo at any random moment they want

i used to wish liverpool would hold the ball more. they always had good plays and pressure but always felt they tried forcing plays too fast when teams would try and play more defensive, causing liverpool to try risky plays, lose the ball and get countered
@indexpicturesКүн бұрын
much more tactical flexibility, willingness to sit in a midblock & a demand that everyone chases back behind the ball right into their own box. klopp never chose to sit in & defend the box. it's all pragmatism not ultra high line, ultra high press, ultra attacking, direct counters at all times like all versions of Klopp's LFC.

The biggest difference this season is the use of Gravenberch. The entire team revolves around him. Why he was underutilized by Klopp I do not know. But Gravenberch deserves all the playing time he's received and all the praise too.
