Pandora does have direct play music. They aren't just radios, you can make your own playlists and get pre curated playlists as well.

I'm skeptical about Panora's music genome project being the only source of recommendations. If I pick a certain Led Zeppelin song like Ramble On, I just get a typical classic rock station. I don't expect the station to be limited to one time period or genre, but it is.

That isn't how genome project works. You are probably using it wrong. When you say "I pick a certain Led Zeppelin song", what do you mean what buttons did you push to do that? If you want pandora to not be limited to one time period you have to hit like on songs from more than one time period. Pandora has shown me 3000 unique songs over the past ten years, I only hit dislike 30 times. That isn't the case on any other music streaming service.

Spotify doesn't have a true shuffle. Cancelled it for this reason.

It's annoying how Pandora keeps autoplaying in my car when I plug the phone in. I tend to uninstall it.

I think it has to do with your car. I have that same issue with other apps in my 2018 Toyota Camry. However, I never had this problem with my 2023 Honda Hr-V.
