cats for example also have minds. their mind operates in the same way with one exeption. they dont have a personality. a self. there is nothing in their behaviour which accentualizes that anything they do is for themselves. cat will find a shelter, food, just lay around. a man will build himself a house, will have to work hard, will not stop at anything to get what he wants. finding a shelter and spending ten years of hard labor to build a house is the same thing.except the man did it for himself and therefore it matters how big it is, how comfortable it is, and if one creates anything with such intention he in doing so paved the ground for "suffering" i.e. everything that makes up suffering. if man had no sense of self, man too would still be finding a cave without having to spend a decade of effort. not only would he not mind it but that thought would never even enter his mind. humans developed a sense of self which became the only drive of that species. it is as it is. can it be transcended? gone beyond? yes. when the basis for action, the intention, is not egoic, the fruit or what unfolds thereof will not be egoic. simple as that. look and you may see that too

Is the mind the same as the brain?

Brain's a physical object. Mind, or thoughts, are more like psychological objects...when seen from the "Presence" position :)

Yes. Both are part of phenomenal existance, watched by You.

@@kolarz2128 phenomenal existence is a mind. All forms are thought

@@asdfghjkllkjhgfdsa8725 hm? Right now as far as I know I would say that the word brain means the physical form of mind within skull. Mind could be used more as something which describes our internal experience and sensory experience xd
