THE DIFFERENCE IN SOUND FOR £50! | Mission QX-3 vs Mission QX-4 Sound Test

It’s often asked if you can hear the difference between two closely matched speakers, and in todays video we do an A to B test to show just how much even the smallest upgrade can shape the sound of your system!
In the entry to mid level hi-fi market there are so many options, and so many potential gains even with relatively small increases in price, and the Mission QX-3s, and QX-4s, are a great example of this!

I've been using the qx-3 mk2 for about two weeks. The sound was quite balanced, nothing stuck out anywhere, there was a slight emphasis on the mid and lower upper frequencies, but the speakers lacked attack, punch and physicality in the voices. I changed the threes to fours. The bass and punch are great, but now it feels like the bass fits into the lower middle and overshadows many of the details and nuances of the tracks. Unfortunately, the lightness and airiness of the triples have also sunk from the raised bass. Now I have a dilemma: should I keep the qx-4 or return the qx-3 and buy a sub for them? What do you recommend?

Going with the sub would certainly offer more flexibility as most of them you can adjust independently, this might help you find the sweet spot!
