that vagus nerve problem is the worst. i felt extremely high anxiety and depression that i had never felt in my life. speaking from firsthand experience, when the vagus nerve is flared up and you gave candida overgrowth as well as SIBO, your world becomes completely intolerable and to be as graphic and as accurate as possible, it’s like having a roaring camp fire and a wild animal inside your body eating and slicing away at your insides with a grinder. an open wound, hamburger and you’re cleaning it with sandpaper, and gasoline. then having “everyone” tell you it’s in your head. when i say an inflamed or aggravated vagus nerve is the worst. just believe what i say. ice picks in your eye balls is less painful and less stressful. this was an issue for a couple of months and a human can only handle this for maybe one day. together with this unbearable pain, ultra-high anxiety, with depression. the depression part is something i never want to feel ever again. this brings you to the breaking point where you want to do what your not supposed to do that people are afraid of you doing. “it’s really critical at that point that you have really good and supportive people around you” if you do not, and you have that nasty feeling, “get away from the people around you”. i got away from the people around me, because having something this bad happen and being around people that just don’t fuckn understand that they should shut the fuck up is way more than any human can handle. it got worse. along this vagus nerve issue, anxiety, depression, and the inflammation which i think was gastritis and dysbiosis, candida and SIBO, leaky gut, i was lucky enough to get vertigo as a bonus. all that all at the same time. nicole, i love your videos, and you’re an expert in your field, but i’ve been researching doctors and specialists and naturopaths all over this youtube and you really explain in detail about what goes on in the body. you’re one of the best if not the best. the person that sort of had what i had is dr. mark hyman which had mercury poisoning, is another really great doctor and he has as helped by todd lepine because he wasn’t thinking straight. but i doubt he had all my symptoms. i forgot about ulcerative colitis. MY SYMPTOMS an in-depth comprehensive stool analysis resulted in zero parasites. but yet i’ve experienced these symptoms….. vertigo dizziness not related to vertigo stomach pain upper abdominal pain gas bloating diarrhea constipation blood poisoning UTI anal itching bruxism inability to lay on stomach inability to lay on sides inability to walk difficulty breathing rashes weight loss ulcerative colitis cramping sinus pain eye pain the stomach pain/burning is relentless.

Have you seen any relief? btw, i experience many [most] of the same issues.. i think i can remark that a few aspects of your case sound very familiar to me, especially the bruxism and constipation. i think i can hypothesize about what you are experiencing but that would be speculative as i would be speculating about what i am likely experiencing, and i am not OP who is smarty like the candy smarties, so ya

Oh God ! First of, THANK YOU for this topic ! no one ever talked about the more progressed category (the always bloated) like this before. I am one of those :( and just recently i got diagnosed with SIBO. I am afraid to take all these bills of antimicrobial herbs for unnecessary reasons or wrong diagnosis :l what to do? should I treat it as SIBO or wait and work on therapy and fight or flight response first? I would appreciate your guidance

What would it hurt if you did both? Take the antimicrobials, eat healthier foods, and, take a relaxing walk in the park, or, sit somewhere that's quite/calm, and, meditate for awhile. Just don't meditate on the bad, try counting your blessings, and, what you are thankful for. Laughter is a good medicine for the soul, and, body, too. I'd used it to lift the spirit of my patients. They'd hurt while they were laughing, but, dealt with their problems better afterwards. They quick thinking about toxic stuff. I've had to learn to control my thoughts, to control my feelings of anger, fear, doubt, depression, guilt, shame, etc., over the course of my lifetime. I went through psyhco therapy years ago for anxiety/depression, and, God therapy, before, during, and, after. Both helped tremendously. However, after the bout I had with bad teeth, NSAIDs, extraction, and, new dentures, I find myself in the same boat as you. Oh, and, a diagnoses of stage one metastatic breast cancer a year, and, a half ago. BTW, who diagnosed you SIBO positive? God tells us not to worry, or, be anxious, and, that takes continued work. It's not easy to change a life-style when it's so ingrained in us. When you stumble, or, fall, though, just get up, and try again, maybe another way. And, with God's help, He'll make a way for you. God, grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, the courage to change the things we can, and, the wisdom to know the difference, amen!!!! May we all learn to walk in the peace of God after we've made peace with Him, amen!!! Relax, and, enjoy your life, even as it is at this moment. It will change. Mine has in 65 years, lol. Walk in peace, and, the love of God, Aya. You are not alone, and, we will be healed, amen!!!

Sometimes I go to bed bloated but usually I wake up fine. Or I can (after a while) fall asleep when I am bloated while taking a nap, and then wake up without bloating, probably my Vagus Nerve is fried like you have mentioned in another video

Thank you so much for this! I had a very sudden intake of symptoms (like I can point you the day I became bloated last October). I definitely fall into the always bloated group. Eating low FODMAP made me loose weight and bloating now looks more like my stomach is really tight and stiff because I'm so thin. I did a lot of tests and it turns out my ileum and parts of my colon had a microscopic (lymphocytic) inflammation in December. Took steroids but it didn't really help. Now I'm taking glutamine, colostrum, fish oil and curcumin. My stools look fine and nausea is mostly gone, but the bloating is there 24/7. I'm having acupunture sessions for months now. Do you have any tips on what I could do to address the vagus nerve issue? Or any tests I could get for endotoxemia?
@gutmicrobiomequeen
@gutmicrobiomequeen 3 жыл бұрын
We have some great episodes about the vagus nerve and gut brain axis on the IBS Freedom Podcast! :) The testing I recommend for endotoxemia is LPS antibodies, as measuring LPS itself is costly and it is u stable. You can get that done through Cyrex or Precision Point (formerly Dunwoody Labs) here in the USA.

Me too, it's November 2016. It's also sudden. I wonder why is that. What happened to me that day was I had a very emotional event(aside from I was stressed because of work and other stuffs) which made me hyperventilate. Then after that I had never been the same. Then I noticed I was always bloated.

What if one is almost always bloated, but it gets worse with most foods? and then ones in a blue moon wakes up with a flat and quiet tummy? Ie what if one is experiencing a little bit of both?

you are a goddess! I've seen 2 gastroenterologists and 2 functional medicine doctors for 2 years and none of them gave me the explanation you gave here. I had a very traumatic day while I was being treated for sibo in 2021 and my stomach has always been bloated ever since. Sibo treatment became very difficult for me because of this. Because my stomach was always bloated, I didn't understand which food was making me bloated. But now that I watch the video, I understand that it is due to the relationship between the vagus nerve and the intestine. Thank you!!!!

🙏Thanks for this super informative video. I’m trying to untangle my case - maybe you can help with some questions? I experienced the after food bloating about a year after I had a burnout - do you think that could have triggered the whole thing? (Looking at you, Vagus!)I managed to get back to happy eating with a couple of months of hypotoxic and low histamine diet, no issues for 6 months then it all came back with taxes very the day I got pregnant. This time it’s the always bloated version and not even the previously helpful diet changes it significantly 😫 My doctor shrugs saying it’s “just the pregnancy” but I don’t want to believe one should feel this sh** for 4 months straight even during pregnancy. (No vomiting or nausea per se). What can one do about this during pregnancy …? Thanks if you find time to reflect on my question!

She has _so many_ videos about the relationship between stress and digestive issues! Burnout is total fatigue of the sympathetic nervous system from being constantly in "fight or flight" which is supposed to be rare like when a bear appears in front of you on your hiking trail, not all day every day. This nervous system state is the _opposite_ of the parasympathetic nervous system which is for resting, healing, and _digestion._ So, long story short, yes, burnout can most definitely cause all manner of digestive problems. Bloating that's caused by not digesting your food because you're so stressed is clearly one of them. P.S. Dr. Cole's book, "Gut Feelings" is helping me a lot.

I appreciate so much the information you gave. I wake up every morning bloated, and have a big fart. It seems the gas accumulated overnight and wakes me up because of discomfort. So does that mean I'm on the "always" side? Does that also mean there's no point taking anti-microbials for this kind of bloating? Thank you and I appreciate you.

What about the effect of exercise on bloating? I have SIBO and often have some bloating after dinner. But when I occasionally go for a 45 walk after dinner, I come back extremely bloated. I wait an hour to go walking, so this would be about 2 hrs after eating. Does exercise exacerbate food-relaxed bloating?

Oddly, I experience bloating 24/7 but *also* after eating practically anything of consequence within 30 minutes, though it began* with purely the latter then progressed to the former, unsure what tf that means...
