This band deserves a yearly candlelight vigil. The fact they don’t exist anymore literally ruins my soul. At least the music they left behind is magical. Also, this band is still is underappreciated. If you’re reading this in 2022, you’re a real one

I know I'm going to get crucified for saying this but I like Dillinger's newer material. It's not always in your face. Like life it's chaotic at parts, but there are also points of softness, feeling and emotion. It's cool
@flyingpirahna16809 жыл бұрын
***** The softer parts make the heavy parts hit even harder for me. The dynamics and contrast of going between super chaotic and soft are much more emotional than constantly bashing around.

The negative comments on this thread are hilarious. These dudes continue to melt faces live and in studio. Here, they're showing that they can actually write a tasty song with a "traditional" arrangement while sprinkling in some clever and difficult phrases and song writing devices. To anyone who thinks they are "selling out" or "getting soft", go see them live and stand in the middle of the room. If you're still bored or standing ten minutes into their set, you win.
@piworower6 жыл бұрын
i win. stood in the middle of the croud too many times in 2002.´before the whole mike patton thing, which grabbed me when i first heard it but they have been going that direction ever since. but i'll agree with you for sure, it is just not what i remember them as being. you cant calculate infinity forever i guess. and for what it is worth, that album is still as good and as fresh as ever, so DEP can do whatever they want. rip chris penny. I can actually see how kimbra could sing in a song like this, which is less Screaming and more singing... love it :D

Clicked on this expecting a hardcore-esque band, but I got something much, much better.

The drums and riffs are so dizzyingly cool.

I can appreciate the band for what it is, but it's not really something I've ever enjoyed but I seriously fucking love this. Do they have any other songs like this? Or are there any bands whose sound is almost identical?

Try Peeping Tom. Seemingly Dillinger picked up some influence from there for this

Their song "Unretrofied" is really similar to this song. Its from their Miss Machine album. And "Widower" from their Option Paralysis album is very similar, but its a slow instrument for the first minute or two.

TotalDoomsayer Mouth of ghost... Recently most of their songs have this jazz sound.

it would be more like lets stay together and both die (inside or however you want to take it) as opposed to im trying to get rid of you so as I can be free and live (grow whatever) but tragically will then become lifeless for the lack of you. this is what makes a truly great song, so few lyrics and such a complex and abstract message

Lol to anyone who can't enjoy regular singing. "Ugh its not metal enough, herp derp it doesn't fit my preconceived notions of what they ought sound like."

Damm. The amount of talent. Greg is hands down one of the most talented singers ive ever heard. The range he covers, wow. And the people the think they sold out and all that..no they just grew and their art changed with age. Maybe time to grow up too ehhhhh hahahahah
