I think you should test the ease of opening while the tumbler is in the cup holder, the support from the holder might just make a different.

Majority of people have no clue what goes on during detailing. That's just 1 wheel. 3 more wheels, the rest of the body, doorjambs, wax, etc and then there's the interior.
