@@Bobbybear1120 I hope it’s inside the house! Then take care of them the same way for any season. They should not be left outside unless you have a protected aviary and heat source for them. They are easy targets for predators when left outside.

Since my boys are out of the cage all the time I had to wreck my head a lot with how to keep my place relatively clean. I found out 3 things that helped me a lot. I suggest mapping out where your budgies like to sit the most. They usually have a few spots they rotate and always return to - they like to rest there and preen. I put their perchest/toys/rope bridges around those spots to make them more attractive. After that I bought those plastic mats that are used for bath tubs - against slipping - they are absolutely awesome. They stick to the ground but the surface is easy to clean. The poops and other filth doesn't stick to them so it is easy to vacuum clean them and keep them clean. I use a normal big vacuum cleaner but for the surfaces and cage I found out a smaller one that can be used with one hand is really good. Mine is rechargable and I just keep it around to use on seeds, shells and feathers as well as dried poopies. It really helps to keep things clean because I don't have to muck about with a big one. And last are the wipes. I tried a lot of different kinds but the ones that are the best are bamboo water wipes for infants. They are 100% non toxic and only organic and I dont have to worry my boys will lick the surface and get sick from ingesting some soap or cleaning solution. These wipes easily take care of any mess left behind and are bio degradable! They also have neutral, human skin friendly PH so a win win :)

Then pleeeease just spray her bcoz only then she will feel nice n fresh n clean. Give her coriander stems n spinach stems to eat n cooked table rice....they just love it. Some times noodles too will do. Plain boiled noodles... but not over cooked...u can just leave a shallow bowl of water with some cilantro leaves in it n u see she will enjoy her bath daily. Trust me bcoz they love bathing..👍👍🎉🙏

Yes, twice a day, morning and evening. I give them fresh water after washing the cups with soap and water. Change paper in the evening. I found a doggie pet pad that fits the cage perfectly and line it with paper towels. Wipe off any poop around the bars of the cage or the ledge. In the morning zi blow out seed hulls from the seed cups right onto the paper towels that line the cage and wipe the poop off anything in the cage. Then just remove the paper towels and it’s still clean on the bottom pad. Re clean the water cups and add fresh water. Then they eager await for their nutra berries which they love. By then the cage is littered with seed that has fallen so before it gets soiled I gather any large pieces of the seed balls and place it in their cups. I think that is why my females knock a lot of seed out to find the seed balls. Oh and I vacumn at least twice a day! But they are worth it. I love listening to their chatter all day long! Thanks for a great video. People need to know what they are getting into before they get a bird. I have seen some people leave the birds outside not protected and they don’t clean the cages often enough. Makes me very sad. I do notify animal control.

Budgies are actually pretty clean compared to other birds like finches or canaries and other birds. The spill proof feeder is a neat idea except its made from plastic and overtime bacteria can build up, I'd want a stainless steel feeder.

Can you please let me know that how can i take care of my budgies in Summers especially of India? My budgies used to live in 6 - 10 hours in the Air Conditioner and I place the cage outside in early morning and sometimes at nights. Is that Ok? Edit: Well, you earned a new subscriber! Congrats!

What's the temperature? They shouldn't be in AC for that long. Give them water to bathe, if they're hot they would cool themselves down in the water. You can place the cage outside in early morning for vitamin D absorption. Placing it at night doesn't do any help.

my cousin literally got budgies for his birthday and he’s done 0 research for them.. ive been obsessed with them for 5 years or so and pretty much know how to care for them. not gunna be happy knowing the cage will be one of those small little things with the bad perches and knowing they cant care for them properly
@zakosist
@zakosist Жыл бұрын
You should guide them how to care for them properly then, and encourage a bigger cage. Dont know if you had any success taming budgies (I did not, had mine for several months and tried to tame it for a while, its still wild), but if you can tame them, maybe either do it yourself or guide them how to do it (I think some people maybe cant because they give off the wrong vibes, but worth trying). If its tame they can get outside the cage regularly and that makes up for a bigger cage. If someone you meet doesn't care properly about their pets you gotta say something about it, but dont be rude (unless it becomes clear they dont care at all) and be considerate when its accidental. Either way giving someone pets as a gift is generally a terrible idea (not blaming you) unless that person was already well into preparing to get it

I dont know, but if its one particular spot over and over I think it may be itching or an injury. If they pluck themself in general to the point of depleting feathers, that's a sign they dont thrive and it could be many things, but usually either being lonely, bored or having too little space

I have a 14 years old budgie. Got him since he was a baby. For 10 years I've cleaned his cage once in every 2-3 months. For the past 3 years I've been cleaning once a month regularly. I should mention his cage is Vision S01 which is just above average size for just one bird - 47.5 x 37 x 51 cm to be exact. When I see people say they clean their cage daily, I can't help but surprised. I'm not sure if mine has been enduring or lucky to have such a long life, but I do believe genetics are more important and these factors such as cleanliness or nutritional support matter less than we think - because I also gave mine one type of food his whole life, rarely gave him vegetables and fruits, also never had to visit a vet in his life. Bless him for being a hassle-free boi.

Genetics do play a huge role, though there's no study showing how big of a role genetics plays when it comes to their health/life-span. Mine are never in their cages except when they're sleeping. They roam around my house all day. They spend most of their time eating and playing at their designated playground, where my mom cleans once every several days (I moved out). Their cages are cleaned once every several months, though their poop trays are changed way more often. People cleaning cage daily possibly has to do more with them being meticulous. IMO that's not necessary.
