You'd probably change your mind and turn them in if you lived next door in a trailer park where your house is pretty much made out of compressed paper, wood and aluminum. These dumbasses poison their own kids with the same spoons they shoot up with, they don't give a fuck about safety, or blowing you and your family members up in a toxic cloud. Not turning in meth labs causes a lot of unfortunate deaths, many of them, their own children. Please do report a suspected meth house. It smells like cat piss, you honestly can't miss it.

@@ardenalexa94 Yep! There are a lot of barriers to enter, and I honestly don't know how to do it the right way. I just got extremely lucky. A connection through my job put me in contact with the previous kennel manager of the NYCPD, who was in charge of all the SAR K9s in 9/11. I worked for him directly for years, and I acquired my own dogs, got first responder training, biohazard handling license, and crime scene certifications, and trained up my dogs myself. I got human remains samples from hospitals, usually diabetic toes and placentas, for training. Once they were certified and proven, I joined the American Rescue Dog Association as an independent, responded to volunteer requests, and eventually was proven enough to join a statewide task force. It's a full-time volunteer position, so you're on call 24/7, so you need a day job that is cool with you leaving for a few days at the drop of a hat. I work as an independent (folks can hire my personal team to help with cold cases or private searches once police have given up or won't help), and I sell trained up dogs to other teams for income, and I'm also a behaviorist consultant for animal shelters. My time is pretty much my own.

As someone who has done the whole turning a shed into a house thing 32k is very slim, the shipping container will be harder to do some things with but is actually probably the better shell to start with. I give him a pass though as someone who hasn't had to do such a thing you don't realize how much it costs. Main difference is in sealing it, shipping container only needs foundation and insulation, that garage from lowes takes a lot more pre-finish work to make it a structure stable enough for plumbing and to keep moisture/bugs out.

I was a missing person (twice, actually, in the same year) at the ripe old age of 4 years old! Both times I saw a neighbor's dog and just.....followed it for miles until I ended up in the next county. It didn't help that I had zero fear, as I was confident I could survive on my own due to watching survival shows all the time haha. Thankfully, I was found (after an entire day, going into night, of being missing) both times by very kind people who fed me as they phoned home. I got to go home in the back of a police car both times as well. It was a big deal though, as there was another case going on of a missing girl who was my age and looked almost identical who unfortunately wasn't as lucky as I was. I look back on it now, and man I was really fortunate I was not only found but was also able to safely return home both times.

You’re mentioning that you got lost because of a dog, reminds me of going missing for the same reason. Only I was in a big city, and didn’t get far before the police found me, a two year old, wandering on one of the busiest streets. The one time I scared my mom to death, though I had pretty fun memories of being in a police car and asking the guy what everything was. There was a lady who walked with me for a while but I don’t know if she was helping me or trying to kidnap me. She did let me go with the cops though, so probably the former. Like you, I was REALLY lucky I was okay.

Three bits here. 1. I am absolutely loving the long form videos. 2. Oklahoma has weird names because this is where they made "Indian Territory" and forcefully relocated all the Native Americans here. Regarding telling hunters "don't hunt in this wood for a few days", the issue is that there isn't really a "this wood". In places like this (and the rest of the US besides the east coast) there's just SO MUCH land and it's not like "Nottingham Forest", it's more like 300 square miles of unmanaged forest. There's no gate to stop hunters at, and some of them live on the wild land anyway.

The hardest lesson I could ever hope to learn is that sometimes we have to carry on with our lives without the privilege of closure. Sometimes something can happen to your life with no possible explanation. Nobody to put the blame on. Not enough information to understand. Sometimes, we have to carry on without the closure of what happened to our loved ones. His father would still be alive, wondering how his son ended up this way.

If you know what you're doing, you can actually turn a shipping container into a decent little home. Yes, it's small, but it's also basically impenetrable to pests. They are also strong enough to bury in the ground if you want to make a larger house with a basement out of multiple containers.

Do not bury a shipping container. It will collapse. You'll be checking out your new basement and all the sudden the side will buckle or the end will crumple in. If you want to bury it, you need to reinforce it along all the edges and corners and across the sides a bit. Also, you will need to seal the outside with something like tar because the constant moisture will cause rust and weaken it more. Please do not bury a shipping container and just go chill in there. Research what you're doing first or it might just end up being a big ass coffin.

(Student of forensic anthropology here) one of the reasons the bullet hole might be obscured or confused with rat and animal activity would be that rats like to naw at bone they can get their jaws around- they might encounter the hole and then widen it by chewing the edges. You would be able to identify a bullet hole by the marks around it- there would be fractures that would push flaps of bone in or out of the hole depending on the trajectory of the bullet. This hole would then show no signs of new bone growth thus eliminating the possibility of an old injury or surgery. In some cases you can find smears of lead on the bone from the bullet. Fun fact- you can to some degree track what injury to bone happened in what order! The fracture(s) that occurred won’t overlap previous fractures, they will be much more likely to trace along them and possibly create another fracture along a weak point. So by seeing what fractures “cancel out” others you can estimate the order of injury.

Also the family had been missing for over a week & after that much time scent dogs would have little to no hope of picking up the scent in a forest. Beyond that there are multiple natural ways for scent/cadaver dogs to lose the scent: Animal activity (skunks spraying, dead animals, animals scent marking territory, etc.), Dog's Bane (a wild plant that irritates a dog's nose), Water (rain, rivers, etc.), Human activity (campers, hunters, searchers, etc.) the list goes on.

This is 1000% accurate. I live in Oklahoma (in the Chickasaw Nation portion) and there are place names from all the different tribes who were forced here from legit everywhere. He totally pronounced Eufaula right though.. I was kinda shocked ngl

@@georgia2321 For non-Americans, the big, basic example is Arkansas vs Kansas vs the Arkansas River. For this show it's a hilarious juxtaposition of Simon guessing Eufaula perfectly and then SO very confidently bungling Lowe's.

It's entirely possible that the enormous rainstorm shortly into the initial search washed the gun away. They were on a steep incline, it isn't that hard to imagine a small handgun being washed away and naturally buried somewhere far enough away from the bodies that it is basically impossible to find.

Most town or local fire departments have carbon monoxide detectors and fire alarms, they might not be able to give them out for free but I’m pretty sure you can get a discount if you buy/ ask them for some. Fire fighters and EMT generally perfer being able to sleep through the night, and that’s a lot easier to do when you have the proper equipment

I grew up in middle of nowhere Southeastern Oklahoma and the "Ran across some drug dealers/cookers in the woods" makes the most sense to me. There are a TON of those sorts of illicit operations in the woods. I also have a bit of a theory about the money. Drug money is hard to launder in small towns where everyone knows everyone, so there is a chance that the family ran across a small horde of illicit cash that the drug dealer has stashed for safe keeping. Presumably figuring that they hit a jackpot, this cash strapped family could have taken the money and booked it back to their car where they hid the money. The drug dealers would understandably not be ok with losing their money so they would of course stop them. They then forced the family to gather up the stolen cash, minus the one missed bag, leave their belongings and the dog in the car and march into the woods. There they shot the dad but didn't have the stomach to shoot a woman or a little girl. Knowing they couldn't leave them alive either, I think they forcibly injected the mom and daughter with an overdose of the drug they were manufacturing. The drug dealers/cookers then went back to their campsite, packed up all their cash and accoutrements and left the bodies where they lay.
