Your archeological book 'When God Came Down' has been a blessing for my father n law, Roy. Roy has been away from God since his younger days. He's now 80 and in poor health and since we gifted him with your book it has dramatically changed his life and he's reading his Bible hours each day. He read 'When God Came Down' with his Bible opened and continues to state 'this is real...God really did come down!' Now, he has ordered another Bible with commentaries and such: Praise be to Yeshua! We cannot express our thankfulness. Prayers and blessings for your continued work in the Lord. ❤

This is awesome. 23 “Now then,” said Joshua, “throw away the foreign gods that are among you and yield your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.” 24 And the people said to Joshua, “We will serve the Lord our God and obey him.” 25 On that day Joshua made a covenant for the people, and there at Shechem he reaffirmed for them decrees and laws. 26 And Joshua recorded these things in the Book of the Law of God. Then he took a large stone and set it up there under the oak near the holy place of the Lord. 27 “See!” he said to all the people. “This stone will be a witness against us. It has heard all the words the Lord has said to us. It will be a witness against you if you are untrue to your God.”

That is not an accurate translation. This is what the original Hebrew actually says: 23 “Now then,” said Joshua, “throw away the foreign gods that are among you and yield your hearts to Yahweh, the God of Israel.” 24 And the people said to Joshua, “We will serve Yahweh our God and obey him.” 25 On that day Joshua made a covenant for the people, and there at Shechem he reaffirmed for them decrees and laws. 26 And Joshua recorded these things in the Book of the Law of God. Then he took a large stone and set it up there under the oak near the holy place of Yahweh. 27 “See!” he said to all the people. “This stone will be a witness against us. It has heard all the words Yahweh has said to us. It will be a witness against you if you are untrue to your God.”

So, I came across this video about 90 minutes ago. I watched about 3 minutes and then paused the video to read my Bible. I got distracted and I spoke on the phone for about 45 minutes and then started reading my Bible again. I have a pamphlet that is, "The Bible in a year." This tells me what chapters to read for the day. I just so happen to be on a day that says to read Joshua 23/24.. Imagine my surprise when I read in Joshua 24:25-26 "So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and made for them a statute and an ordinance. Then Joshua wrote these words in the Book of the Law of God. And he took a large stone, and set it up there under the oak that was by the sanctuary of the LORD." I believe this is confirmation.

@@Lurkingdolphin Are you saying crowning himself King of the Universe is acceptable as long as he's a first class ethicist? He declared all food clean. Who is he do to that? He's not God. Nowhere in the Old Testament does God say the Messiah will BE God Himself. In fact, jesus didn't even meet the requirements the messiah was to meet. Isaiah 42:2 HASHEM (God) declared: "He will not shout nor raise his voice, nor make his voice heard in the street." Isaiah 42:4 "He will not slacken nor tire until he sets justice in the land..." Isaiah 42:8 "I am HASHEM; that is My Name; I shall not give My glory to another, nor my praise to graven idols." Isaiah 44:6 "Thus said HASHEM, King of Israel and its Redeemer, HASHEM, Master of Legions: I am the first and I am the last, and aside from Me there is no God." The Catholic scholar Andrew Dalton gave a good, short description of how Joel unites the biblical record with the stone artifact at Shechem. Dalton says we have both "the document" and "the monument". One could also say we have the claims (the records written in Joshua 24 and Judges 8-9) + the evidence (the standing stone). The existence of both of these, and the correspondence (the match) between them helps verify that the Bible is not mere myth and legend, but a reliable record of historical events. This really helps strengthen our faith. This is one of the characteristic ways biblical faith grows, and God has always intended for it to be this way, for His claims to be supported by evidence.

Only a demon filled person could topple over such beautiful ancient finds. There’s no way any one should desire to destroy this kind of stuff all because they are mad about possible biblical discoveries.
@Bimfirestarter
@Bimfirestarter 5 ай бұрын
Well...How important were such places to the ancient Israelites? At a certain point, such sites served their purpose. Wasn't it King Hezekiah or Josiah that broke apart the Copper Serpent that Moses had made and fastened to a pole? Yet, it was a good thing to break it apart, because for centuries the Israelites had idolized it, much like people idolize the cross. These ancient sites are of importance to folks like you and me, though, because they demonstrate the reliability of the Bible. Not sure demons begin to come into it...but who knows? It seems pretty dodgy to have so much animosity to a competing opinion about the historicity of such a find. Archaeologists should be eager to find the Truth, whether or not it agrees with their theories.

Hummm...very interesting. I lost my faith a long time ago. There was a time when I could quote verses from the bible, but not through understanding. Instead it was more like memorization. Over the years, and through education, science has slowly worked its way into my way of thinking - replacing my faith. For me, I've come to see the bible as something not meant to be taken literally. My belief in this stems from the fact that one of my ancestors, Richard Bancroft, the archbishop of Canterbury, had a major part in putting together the books that make up the King James version of the bible around 1600. It's hard for me to believe that man could know what was literal, and what was metaphorical, especially in that time. Anyway - my faith in the bible has swayed from time to time. I just want to say the timing of finding your KZbin channel is uncanny. I don't know you, and I don't know how you got into what you do, but this is exactly the sort of kick in the proverbial rear that I needed. Thank you for kick starting the restoration of my faith. I'm not there yet, but you have me well on my way. I look forward to getting a copy of your book and learning more. Just as Jesus commanded his disciples to teach, what you are doing, bringing science and the word of God together in THIS time...well, you're bringing people like me back into the fold. Thank you.

Here's how I see science and the word of God. Science is a practice through logic and reasoning to find truth. Meanwhile, the word of God is the truth. Science will always progress and make new discovery, but within our limited life time, it is almost impossible to reach the truth through science alone because evidence, experiment, all these take time to gather and perform. Fortunately, we have philosophy, that "transcends" science while still maintain its core principles that is finding the truth through logic and reasoning. It is very much easier to find truth through philosophy as you can do that yourself. A lot of theological understanding of Christian doctrines are done at the metaphysical level and philosophical level. In fact, many of the scientific discoveries throughout the centuries came about from the metaphysical level. Anyway, as you said, science and the word of God can come together. I have gone through this journey of bringing science and the word of God together, so I'm waiting for you on this side and will definitely welcome you when you are ready. I will pray for you brother

I sat down in the middle of ancient Shechem and just soaked up what it meant to be there. I walked around and looked at the old walls and gates. I took pics of Mt. Gerizim and Mt. Ebal as close to Jacob's Well as I could get to show perspective. It was very eye-opening to see how close the Mountains of cursings and blessings are to the well. Drinking from the well was special, how many people in the world can say they drank water from Jacob's Well besides those who live there? Now when I teach on those passages that include those mountains and the well I speak from personal experience.

The Lord woke me early to watch this - thank you. It is incredible to think, an archaeologist (so called) could attempt to destroy something because he didn’t want proof of the Bible!! I think there was more to the words Jesus spoke….. When He said the stones would cry out. ✝️🇦🇺

Wow. Wow. Incredible. Generations of believers before us who did so much research and hard work so that we might benefit from all of their discoveries, and now this amazing guy Pres preserving all that hard work and information so that future generations May benefit from all of this as well.. Excellent world class teaching, video. Seamless. Narrative. This guy is so emphatically enthusiastic and articulate about pretty complex things and ties in all the historical archaeological teams and some other conflicts and interpretation and how amazing it is that they're still evidence to prove the authenticity of scripture in the Bible the truth of God's word. Thanks I've never been exposed to anything like this that is so interesting and captivating.

Wow. I knew that the ruins of ancient Shechem were in the Balata Refugee Camp, but I did not know about the Tower Temple and the Standing Stones. The Church of Saint Photine, the Samaritan Woman and Jacob's Well is just to the northeast of the site. When Christ told the woman, "a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem"(John 4:21), He was referring to the destroyed Samaritan Temple on Mount Gerizim. I never knew of the older temple in the city itself. Those chapters in Joshua and Judges that went over my head in the past, take on great significance now.

Even today, we have people denying the LORD and tearing down and destroying the evidence that GOD exists and that HE is the reason we have the GIFT. The so called entertainers who use their power and influence to cause believers to lose their FAITH will have their day with the LORD and we will be raised above the sewage the others live in.

This is amazing. Sometimes you read through the Holy Bible and its just a short part about what happened. I didn't even realize that they turned the Standing Stone of Joshua for the LORD into a temple for baal. You are right it's not the true First Temple as that was built by Solomon. Always amazing on your Expedition Bible. Thank you Yeshua/Jesus Christ that we can be made right with the LORD through Yeshua the Son.

It's sad that the stones were damaged, but I'm thankful God says the new covenant is no longer written in tables of stone, but rather in fleshly tables of our hearts when we are saved by His grace. It's amazing to see the actual stones of antiquity and biblical history, but far more amazing to be a child of the Living God and have His laws written in our hearts. Thank you for this wonderful presentation. It's exciting!

Here is the God's word, Romans 2: 28-29: "For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision which is outward in the flesh: but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God." Malachi 4: 4-6: "Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse." As we know, John the baptist (Elijah the prophet, Mathew 11: 12-14) was murdered during Herod's "birthday" celebration. These are his words, Mathew 3: 7-10: "But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire." Christ-Messiah was executed as "blasphemer" and "rioter" by denunciation of clergy. Then the betrayer, Israel by flesh, was destroyed for his sins. Novadays "christians" are happy to have friends among Christ's persecutors. They love to visit temples of cursed land. The problem is Devil runs the world. He is liar and murderer. This is the reason why herods and hitlers feel good while Christ is persecuted. "Jesus" means "Jehovah is salvation". This is the name of Christ real christians are hated for. "HalleluJah" means "Praze Jah" (Jehovah). Psalm 83: 18: "That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth." But, hipocrites doesn't want to know this. That's why we've got the Gospel about the God's kingdom. Jehovah would put everything in order. He has anointed the king, Jesus Christ. The dead will be resurected and we'll meet our beloved ones again! :-) PS. Amos 5: 25-26: "Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel? But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves." Hebrew pagans still using a star till now...
