For months now, youtube has been giving me AI girlfriend ads in my reccomended, and every time I click "block ad" or "dont show this ad anymore". KZbin still keeps giving me these thirst traps. Some of them are just straight up advertising dating apps. I wish KZbin would implement an age filter or something for ads, that allows people to turn off these annoying clickbait ads. Sadly they probably account for most of the ads on the platform, and such a decision would mean less $$$ for KZbin.

In my experience, the worst offenders are games like State of Survival. Some of their more recent ads blatantly mock their own business practices, and just make all of them look even worse. I think I’ve lost brain cells each and every time I’ve see them.

Fun fact, my brother did that too, where my moms debit card was hooked up to our kindles as a way of letting me buy books if I wanted them badly enough (with permission). My brother spent over $500 on mobile games and when my (very poor) mother went to take a look at her bank acct to wonder why the car payment and phone payment were calling her about not being able to go through, she freaked out. Thankfully the bank and Amazon refunded us but lord it was so ridiculous and we laugh abt it now but that was a time WITHOUT ads. I can’t imagine how it would be with ads. Also for context, my brother would sneak his kindle into his room at night to play games, my mom had bought them for us specifically for reading books cus we had super limited space where we were. After this my mom put heeeellllaaaa locks on it and removed her card info from his acct, and instead hooked it up to a gift card that’s he would occasionally reload.

The tragic part about the blue-haired girl in the FNF NSFW thumbnail is the story behind that character. That character is named Sky, and was made by an artist who was 15 year old at the time. That artist only created the OC to be a tribute to Boyfriend from FNF, but unwittingly saw her rise to popularity when, without him knowing, modders took her character and made a mod and songpack for her. The mod was really successful, but after it became popular a lot of players started sending harassing messages (including persecuting him with his deadname, as he's transexual) and NSFW images of Sky to the author. That made him go into literal breakdowns (We're talking about a 15 year old here, just as a reminder) and lash out against the community by posting images of blood and gore online. Eventually, the creator of the mod apologized and took it down, and even the server hosting most FNF mods prohibited the uploading of Sky content for a long time. Sky's author eventually wanted to distance himself from the character so much that he gave the rights to it to another creator...who later turned out to have been grooming minors. But of course advertisers think nothing of that and just plaster art of a character that hurt and haunted her UNDERAGE creator and his community in thumbnails, and KZbin just lets them do that, because who the fuck cares about the mental health of a kid who has been scarred by that exact image, hmm?

i think the best simple way to yet explain ads even targeted towards younger audience is basically like a stranger on the street trying to offer a kid to get in there van or to show off something that is going to leave them scared and baited in even for things that they may like for example candy. which that's basically a way to explain it and hopes to show platforms like KZbin and such grow to realise this is basically what it is in basic and even if this video really does explain how bad it all is to stuff like this.

the sniper in the ad at 21:28 fires a pistol bullet from her rifle and the character acts like they felt the recoil. As a person who has fired both 9mm handguns and rifles, if you fired a pistol bullet from a rifle that size you would likely not feel it at all especially while lying prone like that. if you were not wearing ear protection then you would feel your eardrums losing there hearing and that is about it.

Remember often seeing ads for a web comic called Learning the Hard Way. Decided to read it one day cause I was bored and the ads didn’t make out to be anything bad, really. Not so fun fact: mobile game ads ARE actually illegal, due to literal lies and theft of intellectual property. But due to how many there are, and how the games are technically "free", no legal system cares enough to do anything about it.... so they even manage to get away with, quite literally, breaking the law. Edit: ok this is the most attention any comment or, really, Any internet thing at ALL i've made has gotten, so I will use this opportunity to self promote cause I see no better chance to do so: I'm getting out of high school roughly this year, and plan to either become a content creator on KZbin, or a game dev. Fun fact matpat did a whole video on ever tails ads and there seem to be some sort of cohescent story that he said himself would have been a lot. Cooler would have made the mobile game better. Oh god the evertale ads. One of the only times i checked the google play store because of an ad. I'm starting to seriously consider an AdBlock...my biggest issue is the abusive way that KZbin pushes these ads. They will interrupt mid-sentence to then push you to pay them money (KZbin Premium) to get them to stop...that is LITERALLY EXTORTION...then also follow with one of the above-mentioned fake game ads and they will BOTH be completely unskippable! Get just a minute or two further into a video and KZbin will do the same thing again. Honestly, you want a bad advertising experience? Be a former premium member and see how hard KZbin will try to extort you to get you back on...why they haven't been sued yet is BEYOND me! 😡🌋

An aspect of advertising low quality games that I noticed (and absolutely disgusted by, for the lack of a better word), is when youtube gamers (and not only them) are sponsored by the developers of these games in order to be included in the video. The issue is that the gamers do NOT and would not play these games themselves. These games are not featured on these channels anywhere, besides the first minutes of the video where the sponsorship is present. Yet they speak highly of the games, like it is the most exciting and best game they've ever played. And if we talk about non-gamer channels, well, it is more obvious that the youtubers don't give a s..., ehhm, don't care about where they get the money, despite the channel's focus.

How i got around the KZbin block in my school, was a weird offshoot of KZbin, called "KZbin HD" i had to help a teacher who needed to use KZbin because we were hanging out and showing eachother cool stuff, but couldn't one time because they changed the password again, -she kept my secret. i somehow discovered the access through a website i was doing research on to learn gardening or something and the video worked, i would since then go through it and freely browse videos as i pleased.

I know this is an old vid, but I was going through and rewatching some stuff, and I feel I have personal experience with this kinda junk. What it comes down to is addiction. I used to play those "dress up" games where you could buy outfits and enter contests that gave you exclusive outfit accessories and what-not if you won or got in the higher ranks. I remember having a minimum wage job, only making 200$ every week and I would spend pretty much ALL of it on these mobile games. There's this weird sense of "I HAVE to keep going. I WANT that item! Just another 20$!....okay, maybe another 40$ too!" It's a huge downward spiral that's incredibly hard to stop once you get going, and these mobile games rely on it. I haven't touched a mobile game in years, because I know how I am when I get pulled into one. But some people can't resist the urge, and mobile games praying on those kind of people is disgusting and sad.

I’ve played a couple including Lily’s Garden, but because of the ads. I pretty much knew they would be nothing like the ads show, but they were free to play and since I never intended to spend money on such mediocre games, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to try them out. I eventually just got bored with them and got rid of them. So far, the only mobile game I’ve spent money on is TerraGenesis, a game centered around terraforming different planets and moons. While not the most exciting game I’ve ever played, it’s good enough to hold my interest and keep me playing.

You can delete User Reviews on Google Play Store without needing anyone to review it. Raid does this. If you respond with a Developer Comment and the user doesn't update the review you can delete the review without authentication from Google by classifying it as "Spam" or "Review Bombing" as these will instantly archive the comment for review or delete it entirely.

Put simply, KZbin doesn't want to discourage any advertisers. While it's true that many of KZbin's advertisers couldn't care less about the content their ads showed up in, there are brands that do care about their image, and so KZbin ensures that all content is safe enough that any brand would be happy to advertise on it. KZbin is a business, and its primary focus is on money, not its creators. Thank you for understanding.

I remember downloading Plants vs Zombies and Cut the Rope and a few others from the "Golden Age" (if you will) of mobile games. My dad asked me if i was only going to download old games. I said yes. The worst ones were the ones that were three times louder than the vid and couldn't be paused. Hello, yes, I'm listening to lowfi remixes while I work, I do NOT need my coworkers to ask me why I just startled three feet out of my chair- It also reminds me of Etsy's hypocrisy. I bought a simple 2B 3d print from a seller, and we actually became friendly aquaintences. He sold some nsfw 3D Prints as well, and followed all of Etsy's guidelines in selling them. Proper censorship, age restrictions, nothing explicit in the thumbnails, etc. His entire stroe was struck down and he had to leave Etsy. _All the while_ we were both getting ads and recommedations from larger shops selling similar merch, with completely uncensored thumbnails and misleading titles. Their shops are _untouched to this day._ I've never played any of _these_ games because the ads were just too annoying to do their job, but I used to play Fire Emblem Heroes regularly. Even after the game stopped being fun, I still popped in daily. I never spent money on _orbs_ but I did fall into the FEH Pass trap for about a year(9.99 a month), an equivalent to $120 total. I didn't like the game much as the power creep got too bad, the story became laughable, and some of my favorite fictional characters got fanserviced out the wazoo, but I was super attatched to my team, and enjoyed collecting characters. It was just nice to see Senri's and Sachiko's art again. Even after I stopped playing it, I couldn't bring myself to uninstall the app for a long while. Even though I'm linked on my Nintendo account, I didn't want to lose my catalogue of heroes. The Microtransaction scene is scary, and you don't realize how much it's ensared you until it's too late. I remember tanking $20 on Fortnite and feeling like shit afterwards. I don't really make that much yearly, and I felt like I had just wasted a nice dinner. I'm not that susceptible to gambling ir addiction compared to a lot of other people I know(one addiction I DO have is an unescessary desire to paint and collect Transformers), and even I wasted far more money than I'd ever feel comfortable spending on a console or Triple A game.

Can we talk about even "normal" YT ads that are actually scams and aren't real products at all? If YT can't give us the decency of not showing advertisements of fake products, I don't see any reason to stop using an adblocker...

Yeah, with how annoying the ads are, I just stopped watching ads all together and just use adblockers. I missed the old times too when youtubers could swear like a sailor, and not get punished for it.

Ad blockers aren't widely available on mobile. I had an Ad blocker on my laptop before it broke. It was very convenient.
