I just got back from Epcot and honestly it felt more stressful than magical. I hadn’t been to a Disney Park in years (I’m a Universal junkie), but have always enjoyed Epcot. I was disappointed in how expensive everything was (even though I was prepared for and expected it). I hate how you pretty much have to buy Genie Plus to ride any of the more popular attractions without wanting in line forever, which I opted not to buy. The food prices are also high, $44 for a pizza and 2 small drinks and the variety of food options have gone down significantly. It will definitely be a while before I go back.

They made a lot of people mad when they got involved with State politics and decide to go to war with the Govenor. Almost 80 percent of the people in Florida voted for Ron in the last election. So I don't know why Disney thought that it would be a good move. Also them raising prices didn't help much. As well as them changing everything on a a every day basis and confusing people. Not to mention pushing there agenda's on people at the park. There are a lot of things Disney is doing that is causing the stocks and money to dip. But they don't seem to want to fix it or is in Denial that they need too. Same with Target and other Ceo's. There too stupid to realize when they are wrong and need to change things.

People didn’t go for 2 reasons: A) Most people didn’t like how Disney destroyed the Star Wars franchise. Those movies are horrible! This hotel experience looked horrible too! B) Disney decided to get into politics and go up against your fantastic governor. That kept a ton of people away. Sometimes I think, WWWD - what would Walt do? I agree that’s the first thing I think of too because I have a bit of claustrophobia and I kept thinking I don’t want to stay inside of a building where there’s no outside air and like there’s just no windows I guess the whole point is they want you to really believe you’re on the ship, so I guess that includes not looking out the window. I have no idea or maybe it’s a fake window and all you see is like outer space I don’t know but I didn’t like it either

It's the law pretty much anywhere. Pedestrians have the right of way as long as you are in a designated crosswalk or path. Obviously "jaywalkers" don't because they are crossing unsafely and illegally. I see people running across the roads all the time here to get to different tourist spots because they are not gonna walk all the way down to a crosswalk then walk all the way back. Florida is a driving nightmare!

Some imagineers quit, rather than relocate. I'm hopeful that they'll be rehired, honoring their seniority and benefits levels at the time of separation. I'm doubtful, as they're a corporation and have shown they don't care much for anything other than profit.

I think it was too much of a niche audience. Money aside, guests would have to LOVE star wars, be ok with being cooped indoors for 2 days, and want to interact with all the activities. I would much rather stay at a themed Star Wars hotel with a pool and full amenities. Maybe Darth Vader would randomly start fighting Obi-wan throughout the day or something lol, or other character interactions. But not the whole cosplay production.

I am sure the cancellation of the campus was in part due to the uncertain outcome of the Disney and Desantis ordeal. Why spend a billion dollars to invest in jobs and growth, when the state is basically slapping you in the face. Disney is Florida's biggest employer and probably the biggest corporation bringing alot of money to Florida's economy thru tourism. Florida is basically biting the hand that feeds them and they are going to regret that eventually.

We see first hand that huge corporations have such a hold over the public, that they can and will charge prices, knowing that we the public will pay. I agree that the Galaxy cruiser hotel was way overpriced. My personal thought is that once you went, that was it, because who could afford to go back time and time again? So no repeat business, which is not good. BUT, closing such a unique place is also the worst idea they could ever come up with. Streamline the costs, trim down the experiences, then you could charge a price that would allow for repeat customers. I know Walt Disney had a business sense about him. But he also wanted to entertain the people and give them their moneys worth. I’m not sure many of the decisions made today by the executives would be approved by Walt himself. And sadly there isn’t anyone who knew Walt well enough, that could lend insight to his thoughts, and whether all Disney corporation has followed Walt’s ideas. Big business can get so big that they lose sight as to what they are doing. The Disney corporation owns so much that doesn’t even pertain to what Walt started, that you really don’t know where Disney starts, and the rest of the world ends. They are into everything. Hence now they are making drastic changes, due to their lack of thinking things through. I just hope they can get a CEO, who understands how to run a huge corporation, as well as stay true to Walt’s ideology of what Disney stands for. Sad to see so many drastic changes.

I don't know a lot about this, but I do know that there is something about a tax law that Disney won way back in the day, for it's special contribution to society and it's place therein (and in my opinion should keep) that, I think currently has been halted. Although, my feeling is that their legal-eers will fight the good fight to keep what has rightfully been given to them and eventually win. This is why I believe they will try to hold on to that land until the wind had shifted.

As an annual passholder, I think many people feel that the starcrusier hotel idea was cool in concept but not realistic for Disney guests. Instead, some Disney higher-ups with a big budget and open reign came up with the current idea. Hand was overplayed. Just my opinion

I heard it happened because some travel agents were helping a family book a stay at the star cruiser beyond September and the customer service agent gave the travel agent that statement saying the hotel was closing and that’s how the news spread so quickly

If that is indeed the case, then I guess those cast members would get even less of a lead time on their likely dismissal (I’m assuming they’ll try and move some of them to other assignments on property - though that might be debatable with the reduction in head count that we know they are trying to achieve anyway.). The decisions close by end of Sept highly likely just to have it be beneficial as a write off loss for tax purpose (D’s fiscal year ends at end of Sept)

I just don’t see paying that much for dinner theater. All of the activities and challenges seemed exhausting. I would also like them to use the original trilogy. Han, Luke, Leia and darth Vader. I’m more into theme and not LARPing. It would be so cool if they had themed rooms based on the different planets and a Mos Eisley cantina. Now I would pay for that.

Yeah its so expensive! It looks fun but the price is too high. UP to £6000, thats almost the price of a full on two week holiday from the uk to Florida. Its not possible.

Depends on the stock and how many shares. I don't look for tge big kill. I sell sometimes when I feel I have made enough and don't want to take chance when it starts going down. But for Disney stock I would hang on to it.

Canceling the Lake Nona project isn’t the win for Disney you thin it is. It doesn’t hurt anyone except Disney. Disney were the ones that were going to get tax breaks for moving and Disney are the ones that already lost employees who decided to leave the company instead of making the move. Lake Nona is one of the fastest growing areas in Florida. They will continue to be even without Disney and it’s not like Disney was creating 2,000 jobs for Floridians they were just moving people from California to Florida.

Crazy how Disney is shutting down all the projects. I’ve been watching the development of Cotino the live in Disney community in the Rancho Mirage/ Palm Springs area and they are making no progress at this time too.

Disney cast members will work in the community, giving the same "legendary guest service" as they do in the park.” If there’s cast members Disney has a hand in it. Might use developers but it is 100% Disney backed.

Adam, remember when you were "Banned from Disney for life"? "This too shall pass". Disney has a political problem on both coasts. Bob Chapek announcing 2000 employees were moving from SoCal to Florida was in response to Gavin Newsom shutting down Disneyland during covid. It was a way of saying "we don't have to stay in this business unfriendly state.". Then Chapek gets into it with Ron DeSantis... Iger picks up that battle in progress... Florida governor's are limited to two terms... once Florida has a different governor, of either party, and some time passes, say 5,6,7 years Lake Nona will probably be back on again. Like your "lifetime ban from Disney", nothing lasts forever... And "This too shall pass"
