The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride - Cirencester 2023

On Sunday 21st May 2023 across the World, events were held in the name of the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride, raising funds and awareness for Men's Mental Health and Prostate Cancer.
This year I took part in the Cirencester ride, hosted by Rob, and at the last count the Ride raised £14, 333 which is amazing.

Hello 😃 Distinguished Gentleman's Ride was held in Kobe and Yokohama on May 21st in Japan. I ride a Royal Enfield Classic 350, and through that connection I learned about the existence of DGR for the first time this year. I think it's a great event. It looks like you guys are having a lot of fun too.

Hi Charley, my wife says you looked great on the Harley Sportster, we have thought you should have one ages ago. Low seat height good power and pull more than your Himalayan but not overwhelming, brilliantly customisable, Louise started as a nearly new 883cc but she got board in days with the lack of power so she had a 1200cc cylinder kit fitted. Different handlebars, sissy bar rack other stuff all her own work! I have a 1800cc Fat Bob CVO and we love riding together. Our lifes ambition is to Ride to Gran Canaria on the bikes camping on the way down then getting accommodation there. We love your channel very real and straight from a new rider point of view learning as you go,, all the best Phil and Louise

we at West Sussex did Shoreham to Chichester with 2 stops,didn't get past 3rd gear ! over 250 riders but raised over £36000 ! love the music

Hi Charlie, my hubby sent you a comment last week to tell you I thought you looked great on the Harley. I'm a little shorter and older than you and think a Harley Sportster would really suit you. I've had mine a couple of years now and have customised it along the way. It's low seat height and low center of gravity makes it perfect. It's torque is magnificent but not so fast that it rips your arms off. I never used to be a Harley fan but I've fallen in love with mine. Got a sissy bar and rack so loads of options for stowing your tent n sleeping bag. Maybe see if Harley would loan you one for a weekend. Think you'd be convinced! Love your videos and great to see a lady getting out there in a predominantly male activity. Hats off to you! All the best Louise and Phil From Lincolnshire.

This is brilliant I love the concept of distinguished rides but iv noticed nearly all sacrifice safety protection for style with the open half helmet buckets.

Back in the day we never had any armour just better quality leathers ,strengthened in vulnerable places ,proper full length boots & motorcycle gauntlets . This new fancy modern armoured gear ,is restrictive especially when attempting to preform rear observations & life savers . If people are worried about risking injury whist riding motorcycles ,they are better sticking to driving granny cages . Cyclists can reach speeds over 60 mph down hill & they are only protected by Lycra & flimsy cycle helmets & shoes .

It's a choice a lot make for the day, balanced with the slow pace and short ride time. I know that's not the answer, but it is a considered choice. 😊

When I was younger in the 1970 ‘s I used to ride to my girlfriends in my going out clobber & even suits on my motorcycle & leave it at her house ,then take her out by taxi .
