Fetty learned the hard way that you can't always fullfill the promise of helping those who were there for you before you made it in the industry. When he blew up a lot of his "friends" used him for money and fame considering he would spend a ton of money on his friends like clothes, vacations or living expenses and he was also apparently giving away free recording sessions rather than securing big features to get a bag like Drake when he fumbled it by adding his friend Monty's verse back on.

Fetty Wap was legit one of the biggest and best artists to blow in 2015, he had a short, but massive run. When his album dropped I can’t lie, I had that shit on repeat, between him Future, and The Weeknd, those 3 were the soundtrack to my everyday work/school/gym grind. As big as he a was, he was taking care of TOO MANY people. From shopping to buying properties, not to mention from the fame he slept with a lot of women, and made a lot of kids, so with all these expenses his money ran out very quickly. Unlike Rich Homie Quan, whose label screwed him over, thus him not being able to release music, Fetty was able to put music out, so it never made sense why after 2015 he took such a long break, I remember the “Wake Up” and a song called “Different Now” in 2016 but other than that, it wasn’t much I was hearing from him. By the time he started dropping projects again in 2018, music had CHANGED so much, so people moved on by then
