Abusive behaviour comes from deep internal sadness. I firmly believe that no one deserves to be so miserable that they feel the need to make everyone else in their lives miserable, too. However, I agree with the comment about the kids. As soon as you make the decision to be a parent you have a responsibility to take care of your shit so that you can be a decent one, regardless of what or who caused your problems in the first place.

Tbh Janelle has never wanted Jace, she’s only wanted to stick it to Barbara. I’m sure she has some love for him but I don’t think she truly loves him. Barb is a lot of things but I give her probs for being in her 70s and fighting for Jace, essentially being his mother.

Ive said it before and ill always say it, she has so much hate for herself that she will never see the worth in her kids. The only women that mistreat their kids are women that hate themselves. People see their kids as part of them so if they have no self worth, their kids have no worth. Until janelle learns to love herself, she will never better herself or do anything that will benefit her children. She sees them as worthless, which explains everything shes ever done to them and every situation shes ever put them in.

I agree ! Jace is currently in custody of CPS due to running away from Jenelle’s house , he said that he ran away because David had assaulted him and he didn’t feel safe there …. AND OF COURSE Jenelle decided to take David’s side by saying that “ everyone in the house is scared of Jace “ and made it seem like Jace is this horrible 14 year old kid . When you choose an abusive man or any man over your kids you know that you’re a horrible parent ! She traumatized Jace , she’s talked down on him , at this point we know that she never ever cared for him or loved him or wanted him !

I absolutely agree. Not excusing Jenelle's actions at all, I think it's disgusting she put her kids in danger. However, what isn't mentioned here is that all the other adults in her family are just as fucking insane as her. She has a brother and sister. Like jenelle, they both have criminal records and have a history of cps involvement. Apple definitely doesn't fall too far from the tree here.

@@allstopblue5717I don’t see how this glorifies teenage pregnancy at ALL. Quite the opposite actually. This is coming from an ex-teen mom. Teen pregnancy rates actually went down after this show aired. I do think that youtube and tiktok teen moms are glorifying teenage pregnancy, but they’re actively choosing to show only the good parts of their lives. That’s not what MTV teen mom was, every single episode was drama, trauma, bad parenting, and even drug abuse.

The whole Jenelle story is just a tragedy
@thisismyinferno
@thisismyinferno 7 ай бұрын
I just want to add a few things. Janelles mom was abused by her dad for years, then raised 3 kids on her own (one had autism, I think). I think she either escaped their dad or he abandoned them, I forget which. She also had to raise her grandson (Janelles son). I am in NO way condoning the screaming and back and forth with Janelle, but she really fought to get Janelle to do right with the tools she had. Some families come from environments where the healthier options are not modeled or an available resource. Janelle was VERY codependent. She latched on to every man she was with like her life depended on it, then she would model their personalities almost. She had a brief moment, she was doing well with Nathan, but his ptsd made him a terribly violany hot head. He wasn't well after the army and just was escalating. When Janelle got with David, Barbara was THE FIRST to beg her to not be with him, because she saw he was the WORST of all her relationships. She knew abuse was happening. She would tell the cameras and producers she didnt want David anywhere near Janelle, BUT then David would work to isolate Janelle and her kids from Barabra. So Barbara did enough so she wouldnt be pushed away so as to not isolate Janelle and her grandkids. David was absolutely abusive to the kids, including his daughter. He HATED Jace and ESPECIALLY Kaiser. Theres footage of it on the show. The neglect, gaslighting, even David physically intimidating Kaiser and Jace. Also keep in mind, Janelles mom is in her 70s now. She did all she could to protect Jace by raising him. Jace was flat out saying he hated David and its heartbreaking to see how much he wanted Janelles love. I do NOT consider Janelle Jaces mom, but Barbara his mom. The only reason Barbara gave up custody to Janelle for a brief time, was because she was older and couldnt always handle raising a preteen. But she did areange to give Jace his absolute best chance in life; she got him consistent therapy, made him focus on school, and got him into recreational activities. When Janelle got custody, she would steal Jaces prescribed medications and take away his therapy, plus Jace acted out more and started running away. Likely to get back to Barbara, because she was being pushed away by restraining orders, etc by Janelle and David. David has killed animals infront of his kids, such as baby chickens, goats, and pigs for the hell of it. Ensely, his youngest daughter, even begged him not to anymore (theres footage). His eldest daughter spoke out years before hand terrified of her dad trying to get help for all the kids. She got handed back to David by the courts. Theres proof of him mentally and emotionally abusing her, making threats towards her. Its all disgusting. Janelle is selfish. She does NOT care for her kids. She repeatedly puts them in dangerous situations and participates in abusing them all, even Davids daught by another woman. There was car incident where she completely road raged with Jace in her car, and she pulled out a gun in front of him to chase down a man in a large pick up was crazy! Jace told what she did to Barbara and the cameras, and Janelle told him he was liar with SO much hate and disgust, you could visibly see Jace shrink in size. So yeah, so much story here. I dont fe for an ADULT that harms her kids. Shes had chances to make better choices. Teen mom money gave her income and resources shes never had her self as a kid, and now theyre gone. I just hope with the current case, her kids can be saved from this horrible situation, because Ensely and Kaiser are the youngest that can speak out for themselves. All four kids need to be removed.

With or without David, Jenelle is a terrible mother. She has no patience for them. We’ve saw when Kaiser was younger. I think one of the reasons she so desperately clings to David is because she isn’t capable of taking care of those kids by herself. And she knows it. That is why she resorted to OF instead of making David find a job and why she looks away when her kids are being abused. If she left him or he goes to prison, she will find someone else that will be willing to take responsibility of her kids. She doesn’t have anyone else because she has burned all her bridges.

Yes, Babs has toxic issues for sure. But Babs is also human, and was trying her best, and went through God knows what growing up herself. But she, at least, tried. She didn’t go around blaming how she grew up for anything. She kept a job and supported Janelle, even though Janelle made fun of her job forever. Meanwhile, Janelle and her worthless, dog murdering husband can’t even hold down a lemonade stand. She accepted Janelle back time and time again, giving her chances over and over, and even sacrificing her own life to fully raise Janelles child. There’s a point when you can’t blame Mom anymore. Janelle is incredibly selfish and delusional, and will never take accountability for anything. All this happens and she blames Jace. HE is the threat. Still defends DaViiiiid, though. And I can bet David probably murdered the pit too.

Him killing the dog is what really sent me over the edge. The dog didn’t do a damn thing wrong. The kid was clearly bothering the dog. And if you can’t understand that a dog is an animal that had its limits of being annoyed, you should not have a pet while you have children. The dog didn’t deserve that. And… the dog didn’t really even break her skin. It was a warning. The dog didn’t want to hurt the kid… the dog wanted the kid to leave it alone. When she had Jace in the back seat during an episode and got in a road rage incident where she followed some guy home and pulled out her gun. Based on the information available, it seems most likely that Barbara raised Jenelle in a house where these exact same things were happening. It's very obviously the result of family trauma, Barb just didn't have a paycheck from MTV to help enable it. I know there have been reports that Barb's other kids don't speak to her & while I don't give Jenelle a lot of credit I do think she was right that part of why Barb refused to give custody of Jace back was bc she knew having him meant Jenelle couldn't cut her out. There was definitely some coercive control in their relationship. Either way, it's very sad that Jenelle did have the financial means to seek help & overcome her problems but was never able to find the motivation to do so.

In the clip with her new husband I noticed about 6 red flags in just a few seconds. A massive gun safe kept in the bed room closest to him. A massive whole punched in the outside of the bathroom door that she lovked herself in. Him saying he cant do anything with a kid on his hip. Him being lowkey agressive but controlling his angry cause cameras are around.

This story mirrors my childhood 1000%. Jenelle reminds me so much of my biological mother. Born to a teen mom that continued to party and use drugs WEEKS after I was born. I was raised by my grandma who was emotionally abusive. I bounced between grandma and mom a lot. My bio mom eventually married a complete psychopath that inflicted so much horrific abuse on me and my younger siblings. Talk about brokenness. I no longer keep in contact with my bio mom and most of my siblings. I hope Jenelle gets the help she needs and I hope her children find a way to heal from this. It isn’t easy. I feel so so bad for these children.

At this point, i feel like the only way these kids are going to be safe is them cutting off ties with them. They will never be able to really find peace until janelle is out of their lives. I feel for her but after so many years, you have to do the work on yourself so that your children dont have the same life, and it just seems like janelle has so little self worth that even her kids arent worthy of a better life. She hates herself so much that the kids being a part of her just means she doesnt care about them

Yes I agree. Drug abuse is a disease, but as an adult and a parent it is your responsibility to take care of yourself. I understand that being a teenager she was immature, but once again having a child should help you gain responsibility. This is a her problem not a natural human problem. Most well adjusted people would take that opportunity to change and become better.

The teen girl who died like a year ago at one of these TTI 'boarding schools' in Utah makes me so angry and so sad. She died from a very treatable illness, peritonitis, a needless preventable death. So fucking cruel. She suffered for two weeks leading up to her death, growing sicker and sicker, yet no one listened to her pleas for help. That one is the worst, hits me the hardest, of all the tragic tales of TTI victims. I remember when I was locked up in one of those boarding schools in Utah. I remember thinking to myself that if I were to get severely ill or injured, I'd probably die. The sadistic staff watching over us didn't give a fuck about any of us, and they'd say you were attention seeking or some bullshit if you said you didn't feel well. Can't trust them with anything, but your parents put your life in their hands. How many more children have to die before all of these places are shut down for good and new laws put in place? Ugh. I hope you are doing well today and thriving after all you've been through. It's so unfair any of us had to suffer and endure the abuse of troubled teen programs. Keep talking about it, keep spreading awareness.

The craziest thing to me, as an older/ previous teen mother, how is this show- filmed and put out there - with these extremely disturbing/ abusive situations just allowed to occur?! I never could watch these simply because I was living my own version of life as a young mom. I am now much older and my son is grown- I’m thankful I had a decently stable family when I was younger for a foundation. Things weren’t perfect, because I was a child- raising a child- but they were never toxic, and never with drugs/ various relationships that were not safe. How did the producers or camera crew not say anything- idk maybe they did and the failure was on the families and CPS. It’s just awful to see- so cringe. And so very sad for the children. What's weird to me is how a lot of it happened, and the consequences were less severe than if they weren't stars. Like David - if he was an average man, he'd have been in prison a long while ago yet he's allowed to walk around with the few charges he has. I guess fame earns slaps on the wrists now? 🤷‍♀️

Janelle was always a bad person. She was abusive towards everyone who was around her. She has chosen the right partner who suits her. They are both toxic individuals. Makes me sad that the kids are with these crazy parents. 😡 I wish the kids recover and won't make the same mistakes as Janelle and her Partner. And I don't understand how MTV was still filming all the drama and the drug abuse back then. This is really shocking to me and it makes me sick. They should have kicked her out of the show as soon as she started her drugs...

KYLEUH you gotta up Ensley talking to her dad about killing the chick. I saw it last week. It is AWFUL & you can tell he lied RIGHT to his daughter to gaslight her which may have been the worst part. I feel awful for all the kids & her but she’s gotta for ONCE choose her children. It’s not like he’s the breadwinner even though it’s SO hard to leave. She should start w/ therapy.

Unbelievable that he would film that encounter and then upload it. Same with the conversation of David on the phone with Maryssa as he gaslights her.

Her problems are not just because she was a teen mom. Not all young moms do these things. She would be this way at whatever age she had a baby. She is selfish and would never put anyone's needs or wants above her own.

These girls were so young going through a rough time in life and I feel like some were exploited but I also feel some continued to want the limelight and stay relevant anyway possible. Pretty tough to tell a 16 year old pregnant teenager she could be on a tv show and make money without understanding the gravity of the decision and quite often having no job, in school or dropped out with trouble finding work or a way to support themselves.

I'm so glad you mentioned the fact that one of the root causes of Jenelle being 'Jenelle' is Barbara. I'm not going to bash Barbara - she's bloody brilliant - but Barbara and Jenelle's relationship was very much like my own relationship with my Mother. I don't hate my Mam, she did her best under the circumstances (undiagnosed and [very much denied] ASD.) I was brought up thinking shouting, screaming and smacking was normal. I was lucky to meet my husband, who is the most patient man (not "David Eason patient" just have to clarify that seeing as I sound like Jenelle when talking about my Husband 😂.) My Husband refused to argue when I'd shout; I'd have to go for time-out in our bedroom until I was calm enough to talk like a rational adult (wtaf??) He taught me it's not OK to slap and smack in frustration. He taught me - I don't actually like arguing. He taught me to create boundaries.

Funny how she says she can't trust anyone in her life. When all her mom tried to do was get her help, get her clean, and she refused it every time. She needs to pull her head out her butt. Take some accountability, and change. She could have built a successful career, living a healthy, and sober life. But no, she wants to choose to live like this.

I always thought that if her mother would have backed off and offered help not complete parenting, janelle may have done ok. I remember this scene when she gave the baby a bath, dressed him, fed him and put him in his bed, her mother came in and woke him up because “that is way too big, he isn’t in socks…” her confidence was leveled and she didn’t try anymore. His abuse to her and the dog is scary

Barbara is so much to blame for how Janelle turned out. Janelle had issues, but Barbara did not help her at all! She played the martyr, and was so toxic! Janelle rebelled, and Barbara handled it as badly as can be.

Give Barb a damn break! Jenelle has some type of mental disorder she even admitted on tv. She is very hard to be around. I didn’t see how Barb didn’t strangle her disrespectful ass and Barb isn’t that bad. She raised her child for her since he was an infant!!

This whole situation is really sad. I feel for Jenelle, her childhood was not easy. Both of her siblings are mentally ill and I believe struggle with addiction. Barbara was emotionally abusive and absent… she seems to do better with Jace (why are so many abusive parents GOOD grandparents?!) Jenelle needs help. I fully believe that she doesn’t feel she can leave David. She tried… and he refused to leave the house HER MONEY built. If she doesn’t have a support system then she can’t be expected to leave and build a better life. Everyone, the kids and her and Barbara deserve better.

Watching her first episode when I was a year older, I was so hopeful she would ultimately mature through the next few years. It’s terrifying that nothing ever changed and she added more children to her family. It feels like centuries ago being a teenager personally, it’s such a long time and so many days and years she could take accountability for herself and her life!

I hate to refer to someone else’s life as a “lost cause” but it’s so hard to see any light at the end of her tunnel. The trauma runs so deep and the patterns of behavior have gone to rock bottom so many times. I just hope her kids are able to break the cycle. So sad.

It's very refreshing to hear someone point out the problems with Barbara & not just Jenelle. Jenelle is an adult who needs to take responsibility for herself instead of blaming Barb, but Barb has certainly contributed to the situation. Also, I always found their segment producer the most overtly manipulative on the show.

David would look at Jenelle in the same frightening "you'd better not say im abusing you" look my ex would give me. My mother was similar to Barbara but with more physical violence. If I didn't have my dad who was a superhero, I can imagine still being stuck in the same abusive cycle as Jenelle. She needs to realize she isn't gonna ever know true love unless she loves herself n her children. I wish she would get therapy n build up some self worth but David of course has her isolated n brainwashed. David is preparing for his own personal Waco on the Swamp.....
