42:28 about the helicopter death, being in the army exposes you too a lot of things, one of them was a death of a 20 female soldier by the tailblade of the helicopter. The reason her accident happened was because everything is so noisy you don't notice what makes the noise, and the blade is spinning so fast that you can't see it, so she walked right into it. Probably what happened to the director.

The snow buddies one is insane. All they had to do was wait for shots to be effective and treat animals like they mattered. Idk how they weren't sued for straight up negligence by someone even with a clause because it wasn't just a freak accident accident. It was again negligence and a complete lack of care.

I just want to note about Snow Buddies, my vets won't even give certain shots like parvo/panleukopenia, feline immunodeficiency virus or rabies until they are 10 weeks old because it's too much on their system. Hearing that they didn't wait until the puppies were old enough to even have some of the shots is awful.

the intriguing thing about the Snow Buddies entry is that if you watch the later movies the puppies look A LOT older. I’m assuming to avoid the whole virus issue. What I don’t understand is how there aren’t already rules and regulations for how old a dog, or puppy has to be in order to act. What led them to using the puppies in the first place if there were clear health issues to be worried about? Especially since the puppies look older (and are consistently that size) in later films, so why didn’t they just use older puppies?

Not a gfuel drinker (I just hate powdered drinks personally it’s like a texture thing) but I think making an ad read on your experience with your sponsor makes the company look really good. Especially because, yes KZbinrs gonna make money/contracts BUT sometimes KZbin ad reads for me feels like they have a gun to their head. It’s nice to see that they treated you well and it was a win-win for both you and them. Also I find it so interesting with film there’s so much room for human error that you wouldn’t really think about upon like watching a film. 33:18 there's a rare condition, which i forget what it's called but the short version is that people with this condition have bacteria or fungi in their bodies' microbiomes that turn sugar they ingest into alcohol, leading to BAC levels that can be strangely high without drinking, and it's better to leave alone rather than put the effort in to "cure" it since the alcohol withdrawl can be lethal edit: it's called auto-brewery syndrome/gut fermentation syndrome but yeah it's plausible that's the culprit of his blood alcohol reading
@Bonkpunktexe3 ай бұрын
it's also not uncommon for your BAC to be affected from eating overripe fruit or things like that, since they ferment and can cause alcohol to get into your blood. that's why the limit on alcohol for driving isnt at 0, because there is some leeway needed in case of conditions like this or other potential ways to accidentally ingest alcohol

If you ever find yourself in a position where you feel you're about to drown just stay calm, you can hold your breath for a long while still after your lungs start to burn, that burning is just a reaction to CO2 building up acting as an alarm for you to pay attention and breath. Pretty much anyone can learn to hold their breath for 3 in just a day or two by breathing exercises beforehand and pushing through the burn. So while it may feel like you need a breath right now you still have quite a while before passing out.

What you describe in the second part of James Cameron’s situation, your air expanding in your blood stream, is simply called “The Bends.” You don’t faint and die; the nitrogen in your bloodstream, which has been compressed due to water pressure, expands inside of your blood vessels and causes them to rupture. Not only will you die, you will die screaming in immense pain and it will not be quick.

Guys walking into the Rotor Blades of a Helicopter are strangely enough a common kind of accident. You need to think that the blade is most of the time placed to the side of the vehicle and it becomes invisible while spinning at high speed, regardless of the direction you approach it. Moreso, one can highly miscalculate the area and get hit anyways. If you add the distraction factor it becomes a recipe for disaster. I have seen videos of people thinking they were distant enough from the rear of the Helicopter only to be struck anyways. In the end, one should always get off from the sides or run forward.

On July 23, 1982, a Bell UH-1 Iroquois helicopter crashed at Indian Dunes[2] in Valencia, California, United States, during the making of Twilight Zone: The Movie. The crash killed actor Vic Morrow and child actors Myca Dinh Le and Renee Shin-Yi Chen, who were on the ground, and injured the six helicopter passengers. The incident led to years of civil and criminal action against the personnel overseeing the shoot, including director John Landis, and the introduction of new procedures and safety standards in the filmmaking industry.

About the Flight of the Phoenix case: if there was some time between his death and the autopsy (which I’d guess there was, for logistics reasons), the natural breakdown of cells in his body could have caused his blood alcohol levels to rise. As it happened in ‘64, I don’t think death investigators would have known that. Maybe it wouldn’t have risen to .13 (was it .013?) but yeah.

16:07 whilst the conquerer was downwind, it was not the cause of cancer. I'm not sure what you mean by the scuba regulator being upside down as an issue. They certainly work fine in any orientation. Also weird that Cameron had so much training but didn't just give the signs for "I'm out of air" and "let's share your supply". Those are both well known.

Mmm surely the scuba crew would've taught that to the film crew. Unless it's difficult to see underwater when you're not used to it. I have negative buoyancy and I'm a waterbug. It just means that I can't fully relax when I'm in the water; I always have to be treading water, or using the endurance method that the navy recommends for folks who are stranded in deep water to conserve energy. Otherwise, I'll sink like a stone. 😂 Learning to swim in saltwater helps with this, since it does increase your natural buoyancy and can *almost* bring me to the point of neutral or positive buoyancy, depending on the salinity of the water.

"You're only as disabled as you think you are" .. ehhhhh. A lil bit too optimistic in my opinion. That sort of optimism isnt going to work for everyone, but im glad it did for her. I have very bad ADHD which has caused me to be fired from several jobs before i realized im protected under the ADA. I didn't just decide that I was disabled, but fortunately it seems to be getting better as I mature. Life doesn't wait for me to mature tho, so im learning to make it thru via therapy and making sure future employers know about the ADA Also, my disability is more hidden. She likely had much more accomodations in life due to her condition being very obvious, and that probably contributed to her optimism As far as surviving past the dr's estimation, that seems to be kinda common, so I assume doctors just make more conservative estimates so people don't miss out on living their life to the fullest in the odd case that they DON'T make it. This isn't a new thing with professionals; meteorologists tend to make storm predictions seem worse than they really are to make sure that people actually take things seriously and don't try to set up a lawn chair to watch the tornado I'm sure her determination probably had a lot to do with it as well tho, the mind has much more effect on the body than most ppl realize. I met a disabled bodybuilder a few years ago with a similar story of flying out of a windshield and becoming paralyzed, and he also talked about his determination and whatnot, so yea. Stay determined but know your limits. Nobody has plot armor, so just stayed determined and live for the best, but prepare for the worst just in case. Also, read up on your legal protections if youre disabled in any way, even if its something small like ADHD :) much love to my friends with hidden disabilitites, u r just as valid as everyone else
