I like to believe this happened for the evil grimace: -He was normal, until he won the competition for most McDonald’s burgers eaten. -They had been experimenting with chemicals, and accidentally made stuff that wouldn’t affect anyone unless you ingested a very high amount of it. -Unfortunately for them, the guy did, and so they could both use him for promoting things and also the fact he got free or discounted food from McDonald’s fueled his consumption. -They also perhaps noticed he was a little off since the competition, and wanted to check on him by having him on set and in view, to make sure the chemicals were fine. -It had begun mutating him, making him taller, inhumanly fat and big in places, the chemicals affecting his DNA, and the very smell began to leak ammonia, so much McDonald’s food had he consumed. -His metabolism changed, becoming ravenous as he had long since gotten used to eating so much. -the guy knew he was changing, or that something felt off, and decided to isolate himself as much as possible, he needed money, so came up with the cave idea. -He made do eating rats, and the food, and staying in that cave, and all was fine for now. -But the chemicals altered his sanity eventually, and he became more hungry, and to his surprise found himself drawn to the children, by some sort of hunger. -Eventually he couldn’t resist, and stole the kids, one by one. -He fled into the swamp, deciding to isolate himself for good from humanity, as he then consumed the children. -He mutated further, until the suit and he looked almost identical. -Eventually, there was no man, just grimace.
