After Santoro was convicted, her two friends Carol Camara and Rita Maciel met up with the woman who made the 000 call, they cried, laughed and held each other at the cove where Cecilia's body was found - since then they've become very dear friends and have found comfort in each other. This guy will serve just 1/6th of the sentence. Laws in Brazil is terribly disgusting.
@SrCoala Жыл бұрын
No. You are wrong. Feminicide is an “heinous” crime accordingly with brazilian penal procedures code, so he is going to serve at least 2/5 (40%) of the time.

Crimes of passion are the most common and most scary. It comes from someone you trust and you are close to, so you are not on guard. Also for the perps, they aren't all psychos, even sane people can snap in the heat of passion, jealousy, or with the anguish of breakup. It's never an excuse, but those who went through difficult breakups know that they wished they were dead, and some choose to wish the other person was dead, and few act on it. Bottom line, never get too attached to the point of dependency that a breakup will make you hurt yourself or the other person.

@user-kc7mu4jp4p The comment above is a pure example of low IQ low comprehension. Look up what a crime of passion in US Law, it is a legal description of a class of crimes based on motive, a typical example usually given in law schools for a crime of passion is when a man finds his wife in bed with another. I am not describing this person is passionate when doing the crime, I am commenting on a category of crimes that are typically committed by a person's significant other or ex, with the motive being jealousy or not wanting them to leave and be with someone else. I hope this laymen explanation can make it through your thick skull though I doubt it, but go read about what this class of crimes mean rather than moronically commenting with something I've never said. My comment is clear to anyone with minimal knowledge or insight into criminal law.

In the US we average 1-2 weeks of trial but those are cut and dry murder cases. Complicated murder cases can last 5-6 weeks. We have many going on now estimated to last 3 weeks. 3 of the cases are complicated and sad

Justice was served in the end .... do these murderers think they can get away with murder? They forget that there are CCTV cameras, witnesses such as the cab driver, and throwing the car keys into the water, etc etc etc. He had dug himself a very deep hole and the Brazilian courts threw him down into it by placing him back into the worst prison in Brazil. All of the other courts can take heed of how the Brazilians do justice as they do not extradite accused murderers once they have fled back to Brazil but they do try them over there and throw them all in the worst prison. Nice one Brazil, you helped this beautiful lady's family get justice for Cecilia's murder by this insane evil individual. R.I.P. beautiful Cecilia fly high angel.

Australia has some shocking prison sentences. The Greenough massacre man William Patrick Mitchell killed 4 people, mother 31, son 16 and 2 daughters 5 & 7. He was given a 20 year minimum sentence! He has been in prison for 30 years now and won't likely ever get out but he's in a medium security prison only 50 km away from my town!
