It makes sense to branch off into another universe since one of the core parts of Kaiserreich past 36 is players interpreting and making their own timeline with choices given to us.

I understand the change, while honestly I would have prefered it in base kaiserreich, it makes complete sense to make it like this, more freedom and it doesnt clash or create any problems with the modders choices for what cannon should be

Honestly, this comes as a disappointment to me as I enjoyed it as an expansion of the Kaiserreich timeline, but I still respect your desire to go your own way with the story. Just please keep it morally grey. Certainly, I don't want to see any faction as a whole become the misunderstood "good guy".

Hey zombies, appreciate the sentiment! Unfortunately the Kaiserreich timeline can't be expanded past '36 as per the project's creative vision. TDS is the most elegant solution to having a 2acw with 'canon'

I actually quite like the change, for the reasons you listed about the 1936 start date and the lack of a proper canon. Possible idea - for thumbnails, like at 1:58, Maybe kaiserreich could have that navy in the corner where the red triangle is and TDS keeps the red triangle? Something for new viewers to immediately recognize they are two different universes

I don't understand. Why not just establish a Kaiserreich canon? I get that the mod needs to be open ended, but vanilla HOI4 also diverges from canon, aka history, and that's the whole point.

That would be beyond my mandate as Kaiserreich youtuber I think - setting a canon is up to the mod developers, not the video makers, and the creative direction has always been clear that Kaiserreich lore ends in 1936. If I would continue The Divided States under a Kaiserreich brand, it would clash creatively with the mod

While my preference would be one where the background up to '36 would be solidly in the Kaiserreich canon, this decision might be for the best overall to future-proof the work if the main factions are to be getting reworked (and I know there's an appetite for at the least, Russia and the AUS at the minimum). And I think you'd already mentally accounted for any potential backlash. So long as the familiar-but-historically-different setting and the grey-and-black ideological morality is maintained, I think I'll be able to swallow.

It's been long overdue. Kaiserreich has stoppedd being Kaiserreich ever since the usa update, with the mod team giving way too much focus on the ACW than they should have. I'm not happy with it, but it's good it's done finally.

I'm not happy with this new direction away from the KaiserReich universe. The leaders and factions in the American Civil War as well as the wider global politics were both well established. This is an entirely new story setting IMO sharing the same period feel. I understand the desire to do your own world building but it's not like any storyline is set in stone by the computer game. I'll keep watching for now, but you've eliminated the faction I was most invested in. 😟

I feel this is a grey direction to go. It gives you more freedom to tell the story of The Divided States. I always preferred your interpretation of the lore and the changes are welcomed. I also believe that tying yourself to a specific IP such as Kaiserriech and Hoi4 was always going to limit you. I for one love this new direction. It’s more intriguing to not know the whys and how’s of the timeline.

I thank you KaiserCat cinema for all the work you and your fellow artist put into your project and as, if I may be forgive for my arrogance, a fellow writer on Deviant Art I fully understand both the late publication of your work and as well the reason to not fully copied Kaiserreicht lore, I myself wrote time ago some work of an alternative version of Warhammer 40k, which focused more on the Abhumans Felinid member of the Imperial Auxilia, and so I used some reference bt,felt free to modifiy some elements to change my new settings...that said I don't think that you should have been so focused much on making a retcon illustration, but, at least for the element that I see that you have changed till now, you could simply make a sequel explaining the difference...I'll explain better; while the story is progressing all the world story is also progressing and especially in the contest of a civil war is not unheard that the symbol of its faction change or get simplify during the course of the conflict(at example the orginal CSA of the War of Secession changed at least 4 times in the course of the American Civil War) and especially now that in your video you describe how Washigton has fell to the forces of Blue States/AUS and the Totalist Faction take control of the Red States/CSA it could be entirey justificated the sudden change of the flag(In the CSA case the Totalist faction want to make a point of the new direction of the "State", The Blue States decided a new flag to rapresent not anymore their political party but their goal to unificate the nation, but cannot use for the old "Stars and Stripes" since it was used by the Federalist troops who defended the Capital and so used a new "intermediate" flag so to speak, and the Pacific States realizing that with the loss of the original capital they cannot kept referring themselves as the USA and except international diplomatic support to their cause, so they declared themselves the Pacific States of America and changed their on flag)...the point that puzzled me is about the historical divergence to OTL been further from the Weltkrieg, since the German Admiral in the second episode speak about a "double-eagle" standard for the German Empire, which historically however only the Holy Roman Empire/the German Confederation and the Austrian Empire had used my most logical reasoning would conclude that in TDS universe either the Austrian Empire manage to unificate Germany(instead of the Kingdom of Prussia as OTL) or Germany annexed Austria to its Empire, which if correct would means a most likely a different outcome of the 1848 German Revolution or the Austro-Prussian War of 1866....or I am wrong?...In anycase keep the good work

I am glad that you are still doing this this sires is great and I do play the mod as well so I like to compare your story to a stander game of kaiserreich like i think Russia communism in your story MacArthur government is gone and the union state is going to win the civil war but I would like to see a syndicates comeback in the war or maybe New England well we will see

They use the same voice actors yeah, though they play different characters in this show. We'll still be doing Kaiserreich content - both the World of Kaiserreich and Kaiserreich Documentary will continue 🙂

All in all though in my opinion while it may not be nice to be exiting the world of kaiserreich I think it’s good that KCC is being liberal with the plot as that is essentially the essence of kaiserreich and it is an idea the detractors of kaiserreich don’t understand, good to see Vincent still wants to keep things in the spirit Of kaiserreich.👌

I personally find this change tragic. I have been a big supporter of Kaiser Cat Cinema for years because of its expression of Kaiserreich lore. I even had several cameos in the Divided States before this change. But now, without Kaiserreich, I am no longer invested in the Divided States project. I will still look forward to your Kaiserreich related lore videos and audio dramas Vincent but I will not be following the Divided States new direction.
