You should have unlocked the mission during your season pass grind....once that is complete go to the Coney Island mission and select the Manhunt target symbol that should be available.

You dont really hear him speak. It sounds like an encrypted or scrambled audio burst. I'm not an expert but I've heard police radio communications that sound similar. Notice that Bardon says "This line isn't secure maam"

It was interesting to here the scrambled radio...but I am very interested to know ifcthe Hunters are actually part of Sokolov rather than just 3rd wave Agents...they are properly trained and much more advanced than your regular Rogue or SHD agent.

@@PHXGaming i think those guys are super soldiers. You can clearly sense it by how bardon and natalya speak to him. I never really buy the 3rd wave theory because it doesn't make any sense since the hunters are already hunting shd agents in NY. The Government created shd as a backup plan incase the military would collapsed and given the fact that SHD was compromised even before it was activated the people behind the black tusk created the hunters to counter the SHD, bardon had a rogue agent tag if you noticed it which means he was probably supposed to be an SHD agent but never answered the call.

The more i think about what the hunters are the less i think that they are fully human, like they have some tech in them that make them stronger, and i kinda stand with hearing the hunter because during the fight itself you can hear scrambled laughing that i can only believe is the hunter. The way bardon could control the hunter and the amount of tech black tusk is their warfare helps this. Wondering if the hunters are just black tusk cyborgs or something

have a couple of things to add. 1) the Hunter does not always spawn in that segment of the mission; sometimes you will fight Rikers instead. Just reset the mission when this happens. 2) the Hunter will disappear if you hide in cover for too long, and you will fail the mission. Take a couple pot shots every now and then to keep his interest. I have also beat the Hunter on Heroic solo as well. It took like 30 minutes using Hunter's Fury, Memento and Lady Death, and he definitely made me use up all my armor kits. Sadly I don't have a clip. Well done!

You can also use the Liberty pistol and shield combo to face tank him safely. He couldn’t disrupt my shield because I was always in his face, but he’ll pop an armor kit no matter what. Just remember to shoot him in the head occasionally or else your shield will break. Another thing: I ran 76% protection from elites using improvised gear (gloves, holster, and kneepads) and Survivalist Specialization. You WILL get melted in a few shots unlike any other elite or named enemy if you don’t use cover. These 11% PfE mods are useful because it applies to all your skills.

Finished it today. When I hear those Rikers scream, chills run down my spine. Even more when Shaeffer talks to the Hunter. What the hell is that thing even? From the script I read, it doesn't even talk. Just grunts and breaths. It's fitting given that he is talking against a Hunter. It reminded me of a dog. We still don't know what they are exactly. Only that they are tough, strong and very well trained, they worked with LMB and BTSU. But I think that whatever those Hunters are. I don't think that what we are fighting isn't human anymore.

I think they are still human but physically augmented. The voice sounded like radio squelching which kind of reminded me of Cloakers in Payday 2. Cloakers are human but their sonar helmets emit this high pitched shrill noise when they attack which makes them come off as creatures rather than humans. I think the same thing is going on here with the Hunters

I did kill this with two dudes from my clan with 4 directives on it took forever, I think it was the hardest thing I have done in the game. He kept hacking our skills to use them agenst us, seemed like the hunter was mimicking our attack no matter what skills we tried he had them. I was glad to have help.

Only way to cheese this fight on Heroic is to use the Liberty Pistol and Shield with protection from elites. If you’re in his face, the Hunter cannot jam or hack your skills (so you can run a striker drone without the risk). He’ll still drop armor kits regardless of distance, but at least you’ll tire him out. Credit goes to Mark of Bladez for helping me make the build.

Not a critique but an observation: even on PC, with perfect accuracy, you need to cheese it to kill the hunter. And a question about the build which I’m running too but with 3 blues and 3 PfE: did you try using it to kill the hunters in the Summit on Heroic? I’m a console plebe by the way.

Oh most def you need to cheese the hunter, they are stupidly OP...so I did try using PFE in all of my mod slots at one point and I still did not notice a difference from the amount of damage I was taking...it was maybe a slower TTK for myself but it was very negligible.

Hunters are the best faction behind the black tusk. The bulletproof face masks, the watches they carry as trophies and the fact that they are a great challenge makes them a force to be reckoned with. If we get a hunter based DLC I'm gonna be happy

It is a really frustrating fight. I tried unsuccessfully for a couple of hours to solo it, even on Normal mode. I finally managed to matchmake and get it done. I think my problems were that I didn't use rifle or corner immunity. :p

I'm guessing Comms dropped by Shaeffer are based on the order you kill him in relation to his Squad. I replayed this mission to get the deceit mask and got a different Comm when I neutralized him.

Just run thr Manhunt mission (Coney Island) the first time, this will trigger the hunter, but if you die make sure you reset the mission because you won't be able to fight the hunter again.

My Hunter hacked my drone 2-3 times during the fight, so be careful with the usage of attack skills! Got me killed once, shot the hunter, he shot back and suddenly my drone started turning on me xD

Don’t use those skills on hunters unless you know you’re gonna kill them quick. Surprisingly they can’t hack cluster mines (they can hack the seeker mine). I used that and sticky bomb and eventually killed this hunter. I basically was playing cat and mouse with him making him attack where he thinks I am only for me to quickly land some shots or use skills from another position.

In the map hover over Cony Island, and you can change the selection of the mission from regular to Manhunt. So on PC (its holding down G, I don't know what it is for controller). Hope this helps.

You can use your skills after the disruption even though your screen is gltiching and static thats because the hunter is nearby but you should be able to use the skills as soon as the duration of the disruption is done.

Just any, but if you die, reset the Coney Island mission to reactivate the hunter or else you will just end up fighting Rikers. I also had one person comment that the mask didn't drop for them so be mindful of that.

To answer your first question, yes if you die during the hunter fight make sure you reset Coney Island...don't just load into the mission, actually go into the map and rest the mission itself so you can spawn the Hunter again, And 2nd, usually if you have more than one in a group you will get +1 of that number (i.e. 2 Hunters = 2 players)

Hunter should spawn on every level...I would recommend you do it on Hard though to ensure the Hunter spawns instead of Normal....someone on here said that the hunter didn't spawn for them on normal.

The mission is repayable but more than likely the hunter fight will be there, to negate the hunter fight just die and continue on with the mission. The hunter should not spawn if you died during the mission

Massive doesn't want us to make BTSU outfits they keep giving us BTSU gear but they are always exotic and unlike division 1 you can't equip more than 1 gun and 1 gear exotic and exotics are not included in the Appearance Mods system which is very annoying 😂😂

Exactly! There is soo much more to the narrative but probably not for another couple of Seasons as it filters out... 1.) S4 Lau is now in charge of the BTSU 2.) we won't know until closer til but probably a side narrative not to the main story 3.) The Hunters are part of Sokolov most likely because the Hunters were hunting both Rogues Agents from the Network and SHD Agents under Schaeffers orders but he was taking orders from Sokolov who in turn were also working with the Hunters.

The fact that Hunters don't actually wear smart watches but string them together in order to make their shd tech work makes me think that they have disconnected from ISAC after finding some awful terrible truth. That growling sound he makes sounds like a scrambled radio burst rather than an actual voice. This makes me think some of the Hunters are still operating as "non-rogue" agents one day and Hunters the next. I too would be verrrrrry upset if I found out that a rouge artificial intelligence created the green poison, spread it, and then manufactured evidence using deepfakes and whatever it needed to in addition to blackmail and intimidation in order achieve its goals and create a situation where it was needed thus giving it purpose. Aaron Keener going against the JTF and us was because he knew that ISAC relies on people believing that they are doing the good, right, and true thing.
