I just watched this again. This is truly amazing. I think the fact that it doesn’t have object avoidance and it has the propellor guards are an advantage. I watched one dude review it and dropped it from 100 meters above and it didn’t break!

Yep, this thing is basically made for toddlers, so you can’t break it. It was tested no doubt by DJI employees with small children, probably boys aged 2-4 years old.

I love reading the comments from the people that should not even be watching this or any other Neo channel, as its not for you, we get it! Its for the people brand new to the hobby, that want a taste of 3 different features, turn on to launch in under 10 seconds, bigger brother features like distance flying and FPV of course its best feature is that you can crash this thing over and over and never need to replace a prop or damage the actual drone! Name another DJI drone that can do all that?!

I would say it's for more than just beginners! I've been flying drones for years and would call my say fairly advanced, but this for me is great for letting off steam and not worrying at all. It's basically a toy for drone pilots, or a perfect beginner drone.

@PhillipSkraba Well, I also love my Neo, and the latest update seems to have made RTH much more accurate, and after the second update, the tracking seems much better. The Neo is my first real drone, I will not class the Tello I had as a real drone as that thing was a joke, and was about the same price all those years ago.

I do have a Neo, amazing little guy. It's so intuitive and easy to use, way more lightweight than a Mini and honestly quite decent in video quality. Follow me works like a charm and is something that you start and forget until you ask him to land back on your hand.

Absolutely, it's a great little tool, I am quickly starting to love it. I'm not too fussed about the quality, sure, it would be nice if it had a slightly higher bitrate, but it's fine how it is. It's a tool for a certain job.

To be fair, considering it has no forward obstacle sensors, it coped just fine! I think if it had sensors, they would just hold it back and slow it's progress down. The props are so protected, it just pushes it's way through foliage that would topple most other drones! That has to be a plus? Not bad for the price and the footage is perfect for social media! I think people are expecting hasselblad camera quality for £169, it's never going to happen!

I agree, it's superb! I really enjoy flying it, and its lack of sensors and prop covers means it can handle just about anything.

The price is unbeatable, i mean as a FPV Pilot i would say if you have the goggles 3 and the fpv controller 3 then buy this thing! Because on amazon a betafpv meteor65 (analog mini whoop) costs 137€, and this thing is digital has way cooler modes and 4K for just 70€ more, thats unbeatable.

I love the DJI Neo, I haven’t tried the HoverAir Pro 8K or whatever it’s called but I can’t imagine it handles follow as well as the Neo, this thing has me shocked.

@@PhillipSkrabatry going over 14-15mph or down a drop on a mtb and it will lose you and stop. I sent my neo back as it’s use less at any speed. Max pro is on its way. Look at China cycling where the X1 is following at 30mph. Yes it’s on a straight but he also did turns. But until you try the x1 pro / pro max you can’t really say how it follows

I won't be buying the HoverAir myself. If they send me an email, I'll discuss a video with them, but otherwise I'm super happy with the DJI Neo, best follow me drone I've tried so far, plus all the controller options makes me so excited.

For me the Neo isn’t there yet. Even when they sort the camera settings out, the speed and inability to deal with drops needs looking at.

That drone is indestructible . You need to take a look at Drone Wilder where he’s crashed it into tree concrete wall . Shut it down from 100m and even with front caved and font glass smashed it’s still flying

Another Neo video that isn't any help to me. When I am on my bike I am invisible. So what I want to know is if the Neo will follow a cardboard shape of a human, or drawing, or photo I can tie at the back of my solar trike?

So you're not visible from behind as your solar panel is blocking your body, if I understand correctly? So using the RC2 controller you should be allowed to lock on to a target that is an object. However, if you're not using the controller, you might be on the right track with using a human cardboard cutout on the back.

@@PhillipSkraba Exactly. How I can launch the Neo from the seat of my solar recumbent trike is also a question. It wants to see my face. I will definitely get it with controller if I buy the Neo. Whether is will recognize my trike as a vehicle I don't know. And of course it takes a little longer. The faster you can get a drone in the air, the more shot you have. If it takes even half a minute you won't bother and just ride on.

I'm pretty sure it should recognise your trike as a vehicle. Yes, in order to track it you would need the controller.

@@PhillipSkraba Not sure. It's not a car, it's not a boat, not even a common alien spacecraft. Also the active-track is different from what the Neo does. So I guess you have to build a solar powered recumbent trike to find out if it works. What does work is follow-me. GPS. If programmed correctly. Very few drones are. It's not the same as optical tracking. You use it totally different shots. People who never had a drone with correctly programmed follow-me have no idea how much more user friendly it is. You can put the drone in view high and far enough to avoid problems. Why DJI keeps refusing to add follow-me is a mystery. So I'm hoping a third party app such as Maven or Litchi will be available soon for the Neo. Then you will have both optical tracking and GPS follow-me. How exactly follow-me should and can work is a long story. Like I said, most drones do it wrong.

Oh yes, you could see when I was hitting full speed at 40kmph it was really lagging behind so I had to slow down for it to keep up. It's not a speed demon in follow mode, that's for sure.

I've always said it's good for following cyclists cycling, slow or runners through these kind of situations. But other than that I'm struggling to find a real world vlogging use for these things because a mini series drone will get far better footage image quality wise and duration wise. And the whole package of a mini series drone only cost a few dollars more than the whole package of the neodrone does.

For actual vlogging, nah, I don’t like it for that and I don’t appreciate the odd voice isolation robot sound. For getting the shot, it’s amazing though, and so much fun! Add to that, that it’s a master Jedi at follow mode, and fpv goggles and I’m in love!
