24 year old with a college degree here and just wanted to let you know that even though I have a degree, I still have no idea what I’m doing, what I want to do or what I want my life to look like. But, I’m also giving up on the idea of that finish line. I’ll be discovering myself for the rest of my life and I think that desire for constant growth is what will never allow me to feel like I “figured it out”. I think going with the flow of the opportunities life puts in front of you is all we can do. Sometimes we thrive and sometimes we wipe out. Ride the wave baby 🌊

I’m kinda sad summer is over but these videos keeping me company are the best. It’s like talking to a friend for a little! i did one semester of college too and have been basically wandering for the past two years, this time of year is always a bit anxiety provoking for us dropouts! but that’s something i’ve had to learn to be proud of, that i didn’t take the traditional path and that that’s special and God’s plan for me

College has been such a huge personal growth experience for me. However, that is not the case for everyone. If you want to truly dive into work and expand your opportunities while you're already in a growing state go for it! College is more than "what you're supposed to do" like you said its guienly about learning and expanding your mind. You however are traveling and truly doing some boss ass business woman shit, which are things college can not provide you with. College will always be an option even if you are 50! The expereinces and opportunites you are getting now may not always be around. Basically what I am trying to say is, do what makes you happy. There is no right and wrong. You are simply living your unique life path that can be compared to no one. Don't rush yourself and the decision will ultimately come to you when you remind yourself that there is time for everything. Be gentle with yourself and do what makes you happy! You're doing great Hannah!

i loved this video hannah! as someone who just started their first year of college still not knowing what i want to do with my life / and or if i want to even be at college i love seeing your insight. i’m so glad that you bring light on how you don’t always need to go to college straight out of highschool, i feel like no one really talks about it and it’s highly looked down on so watching your videos makes me feel better about having thoughts about not wanting to be there. thank you hannah!

Yes and no. I have run my own business for the past 3 years and just recently decided to go back and finish a degree! Working alone is amazing, its fulfilling, flexible, and fun. That being said, going to school is a different sense of accomplishment - learning stuff is really freaking awesome if you think about it. You may look back in 10-20 years and feel like you missed out on this opportunity to learn, to connect, to focus on more than a business - and to make friends. Going back at 26 was fun, but I do feel like I missed out in my earlier 20s when I was working because I knew what I wanted to do. Do what makes your heart happy! But I know you could handle both.

Our 20s are insanely odd and uncomfortable and confusing... I think 30s will be killer!
@julian36792 жыл бұрын
First off I’d like to say that it’s nice to hear people on social media talk about their future and career since most can relate. Personally for me high school was a mess and I ended up being scared to take loans to pay for a university so I just go to school at a community college at home. However community college is a little slow and people keep to themselves but just find some people or a person to be friends with and create bonds with professors to find internships and have a good experience and to get opportunities and gain information since the college isn’t as active as a bigger college would be but I can focus on myself more and focus on transferring in 2-3 yrs to a university like a UC or State college and focus on other non-academic career options I can do being at home and not having school become my whole life even though it is since I’m full time and have a heavy workload and am a CS major. For me I chose to do college since I honestly feel safe knowing I’ll have a degree on hand and skills, but also I’ve learned after being in college for 1 year already at being a 19yr old that I might as well start at a young age so I don’t have to worry now also I have nothing else to do so college seemed right. Also I’m the first in my family to go to college so I’d like to just be different and create a good foundation for my life. However I’ve been wanting to do social media for the few past yes but it’s hard since I was in school and now college and college full time takes so much time but if you go for things that may enhance and correlate with social media like a few part time classes that may be more useful. I’m also just an overachiever and want to get into different industries in tech that involve having some sort of degree so college makes sense for what I’m into. But I also learned it connects you to a wide range of people such as CEO’s, communities, politics, and business and I’m into making a good impact on people so college is my way to do so but like I said all of that is a ton of work and if you’re making money now and just want to gain more knowledge take something that would add onto what you already have. And for anyone out there make sure that your major and reason for going to college is logical and you know with hard work and effort you will reach your goal and be good at what you chose to do. If your not good at that you want get help such as tutoring, guidance counselor, etc. and try something and change it if it just doesn’t work for you and if you’re not just good at it. Pick something that’s a passion and that you either have skills in or know what skills you can learn and advance in and know what your not skilled in and struggle dealing with.
@julian36792 жыл бұрын
Also I’ve had a similar crisis however it’s more so I want to do social media rather than college so I’m like the opposite debating whether college is with the broke for the next four year and waiting to see good amount of money later. When instead I can be making a steady income and live on my own and move away from home with an income that is coming from some online social media career source. Also we’re lucky that our generation or just people in general who exist today have access to find something to share online and earn a living and I see why because it take work to film, edit, getting noticed, organizing social media accounts, efc. but I know with hard work and honestly sometimes no sleep that I can do it and it would be worth it i also just want to have fun while I’m still 19-early and mid 20’s so I can enjoy my life and still at the same time set myself up for success when I’m like 80 yrs old but finding a somewhat healthy balance to do what you want and what you may need or feel like you need takes a lot of hard work, energy, and will be painful I’m not going to sugar code it sometimes it will be easy or less difficult and sometimes to do everything you want and need will be awful but worthy. Also I go to community college in California and I’m aware that community colleges nowadays and especially in California have a better system and not all community college are the same or probably as good as mine I got lucky even though it’s not perfect. But college is confusing and I know a lot of people who started at university doing insane majors who now chose community college since it’s cheaper and gives more time and has no judgment or extreme pressure to go through if something else better comes along. I also am going to college since I want to work in business and social media and business if need some type of proof or status symbol and knowledge and skills to get into big tech in CA or big business in NYC or international business etc. plus I’d be happy to do social media at the same time and work when I want since it would be a hobby but also a way to do my job while filming fun videos to entertain, teach, connect, and earn income. Once again that’s my goal and my preference on how I’d live my life and I’m content with the fact that if I chose that rout I’ll be alone and away from most of my family and friends however I’d like a life where I can step outside of my comfort zone and explore places and meet new people and know people while still cherishing moments I get with family and friends at home. I just want to how as a person and be proud of my younger self when I get olde and also to truthfully be financially stable since money is practically a lifeline in society and most likely will always be unfortunately and I’ve realized that as I’ve got older and especially living in California and growing up lower to lower middle class I see that only those with a substantial amount of wealth can truly enjoy life here in CA and places like NYC but of course other places are different so just take into account your lifestyle and what it will take to live your lifestyle you want or dream of living. Sorry for the novel, but I had to just get that off my chest since I feel like this may help some people out there. Also sorry for some typos autocorrect sucks. Bye ✌️

Go back while you can still have the "normal" experience. i.e when your friends are still in college too. its not just about the degree its about the networking, the classes, and getting out of your comfort zone, and so much more. You don't need to finish, but I would give it another go I feel like you would love a college experience. Find a school in a place you love maybe Hawaii and start there. Give it at least another year to do the college thing with friends.

Just enjoy life, pray a lot, and trust that God’s ways are higher and greater than our own! Love you loads and praying for you ❤️❤️

It’s totally normal to not know what you want a degree in when your going to college. You’ll figure it out as you go. I think going to school & getting a GED is a good idea to start off with. That’s just when your taking your general Ed classes & once you get those done you’ll start to realize more of what you are interested in. I think college is a great idea & I understand that KZbin is your job but I think having a back up plan is always a good idea too. Now, I understand you dont need college to be successful BUT I’m encouraging you to go because it’s not a bad idea!:)

if you want to open your own coffee shop should try working as a barista for a good amount of time to make sure you like it (sometimes we can romanticize jobs) and take classes/read up about entrepreneurship specifically in the food space! & also just pratically speaking think about the hours/weekends you'd have to put in and the work outside of just running it (hiring, upfront costs, etc). follow the path that feels right!
