I moved coast to coast back in December, California to Georgia. Packed up my Jeep and a trailer and made the 2400 mile journey. It was the best decision I have ever made. My biggest piece of advice if you are thinking about moving to a different state, just do it! Make whatever decision that you think will improve your quality of living. You owe it to yourself to be happy! Good luck friends.

But something that is helped me whenever we would move to a different town is trying to pack sooner rather than later. The more you can get done that isn’t last minute the better. So as the seasons change maybe you pack your winter clothes or are you back up your board games and extra stuff you don’t use on the daily.

The same joy is available when you ask Jesus to come into your heart as your Lord and Saviour. Just know God loves you and is mindful of you. Its real. He melts hearts and gives hope. He binds up the broken hearted. He gives peace that passes all understanding. Meaning we don't have to know everything about something that happened or a disappointment to have peace about it and to trust God is with us. God loves you.

Definitely saving money and have been doing my research on the city of denver. Listed as one of the best places to move to and to live in. Definitely my main goal/resloution for next year(2021). And definite good point on not bringing too much stuff. The less stuff you bring, the better. I would advise people to clean out the house, rooms and get rid of stuff that you really don't need. Me and my husband are planning to move to Boston. And is funny that I’m looking for some advice and you guys move to Boston. But anyway thank you so much for the advice. I have been freaking out the most, because boston is 4 times more expensive than where we live right now, and we are struggling to find a place cheap.
@TheMapPinners3 жыл бұрын
Oh very cool! We've definitely enjoyed living in Boston so far. But moving here was pretty difficult. As you said, apartments here are shockingly expensive, so it could be hard to find somewhere affordable. You might have to look a little farther outside of the city to find a cheaper place. Either that, or make sure to keep checking often to see if you can snag a great deal on a nice place. We got lucky with a nice place that didn't end up being too ridiculously expensive. One thing that you and your husband should keep in mind when moving into an apartment here, though, is that you will need to pay 1st month's rent, last month's rent, a security deposit (equal to 1 month's rent), and a "renter's fee" (also equal to 1 month's rent) all up front. It can all add up to a lot of money, so just be ready for it!

As a kid, my mom, 3 siblings, and I would move at least once a year and actually moved from Illinois to Florida. We sold almost everything we owned, borrowed a big van with a trailer and took off. I was only 14 so I wasn't stressed at all but I'm sure my mom was, luckily she already had a apartment and job lined up. But honestly moving was never a hassle cause we never completely unpacked so we could just pack a few things and go on our way. My situation is now I have a wife and 2 sons under 3 years old. My wife has lived in the same house for like 18 out of her 21 years and is so scared to move. I KNOW we'll do great and flourish considering we'll be moving from an expensive, heavily populated city in Florida to either North Carolina or South Dakota.

I have a question thats been bugging me. So here's the deal. Im planning on moving to Des Moines IA in 2022. And am super excited to do so. However my question is how would you advise with the job/address thing. An apartment landlord is gonna want income which is understandable anotherwords wants you to have a job. An employer wants an address for tax purposes, contact info, etc. I gotta do one 1st what do you recommend?
@TheMapPinners3 жыл бұрын
This is the question I struggled with the most before moving. It's so hard to do one without the other. One trick I would suggest for looking for jobs is to set your LinkedIn location to the city you want to move to. I did that and then applied to jobs in Boston like crazy. Thankfully the company I found a company with was willing to do an interview over Zoom, which ended up being the company who hired me. As we say in the video, it's never to early to start networking for jobs, so start getting your name out there now to possible companies you could work at so that you have an easier time getting an interview when the time gets close to sign a lease! Once you get the job, an apartment becomes a lot easier to find. This is obviously easier said than done, but hopefully this is helpful

Hi fellow Minnesotan! ☺️❄️ How can I network to find a job before moving? Example of what I can say when reaching out? I’ve been using LinkedIn more often but I’m still figuring out a way to build a personal connection with others. Would love to connect with you guys on LinkedIn! Little backstory: I’m moving in later with my boyfriend who’s transitioning out of the military to become a software engineer. He had the opportunity to enroll in a computer science program for veterans with a chance to work at Microsoft. Because of that, he won’t be moving back to MN. I’m relocating to where he’s moving by the end of this year while he starts his job in the summer. We became long distant since he joined the military, so I’m slightly nervous about the job part when I move!
@TheMapPinners4 жыл бұрын
Great question! Always love hearing from a fellow Minnesotan ☺️ Finding a job is definitely one of the hardest parts of moving. Normally, it is incredibly difficult to gain any traction in your new market when you aren’t actually there yet. But, fortunately for you, everyone is having to work from home right now! That means that nearly all employers, including recruiters, have had to reorient their setup to be fully remote. This is awesome for you because it removes the difficulty of having to be in the city to do in-person interviews! Here are a few tips for looking for building a network in another city: 1. If you can, set your LinkedIn profile to say that you are living in the city that you are moving to. Recruiters will often times dismiss people right away for not living in their area, so this will at least remove that barrier for you. 2. Send in applications for job positions that are open right now, even if you aren’t moving for a while. Most recruiters are dying for good leads, so even if they can’t offer you a job right now, you will be one of the first they call when they have an opening closer to your move date. 3. Try reaching out to people that are already working in your dream position in your new city to ask for an informational interview. Informational interviews are great ways to gain a contact in the company and, even better, gain an advocate for you when you actually send in an application! Try reaching out to people via LinkedIn or, if possible, via email if their email is listed on their LinkedIn profile. People are much more responsive when you reach out via email. Also, try reaching out to managers first before entry-level employees, as they usually have more influence behind their recommendation for you. 4. If you went to college, look for alumni from your university that work in your field in your new city! Even if the alumni aren’t in the exact position/company that you are looking for, they may be able to connect you with someone that can set you up with a job! If you have trouble finding any alumni in your new city, I would contact the career center at your university to see if they have any sort of database of where alumni work and live. They can most likely provide you a list of contacts of alumni in your new city. Would love to connect via LinkedIn to help out any way we can! Best of luck to you and your boyfriend with the move!

Hey you guy I'm moving from nyc to Georgia and I need some advice I want to move at the end of the year feb or jan 21 I' dont want to bring that much stuff and I just want to do it but I'm scared since I been in the city since I was 16 moving from Florida
@TheMapPinners4 жыл бұрын
Hey Thony, thanks for reaching out! We definitely understand where you are coming from. We were nervous when we made our move to Boston too! But what we can say now that we are done with the move and settled into our new place is that this has been one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives! We have grown so much from the process of moving and living in a new city by ourselves. I think one thing to remember when deciding whether to move or not is that even if you don't end up liking the place you move to, you aren't stuck there forever. If you don't end up liking Georgia, NYC will always be there to move back to. Or you can move somewhere else! But if Georgia is somewhere that you are passionate about moving to, then I think it is worth giving it a shot! Make sure to follow all the steps we laid out in the video to prepare yourself for the move. I definitely would recommend bringing as few things as possible because moving with a lot of things really sucks. Try selling some of your extra things on either Facebook Marketplace or Ebay to earn some extra money. Let us know if you have any other questions about moving! We are happy to answer them.

Montana is an awesome state!! Hope you are able to move there sooner rather then later! Wishing you all the best.

We’ve moved apartments twice since we got married, staying in the same city though, and it was crazy! Can’t even imagine how complicated it must be to move cities 😱 But, you guys seem super organized though! I would pull all of Rachel’s panic faces hehe

Hahaha it was a lot!! It’s all a bit of a blur now. We moved, I had 2 weddings and 4 conferences to go to in the same month and they were all in different states! Safe to say i didn’t get much sleep that month but it was all worth it in the end 🤗

We are not a big fan of moving around, it's really tiring! We stayed in one spot for 4 years just because we didn't want to move. Zillow is a good website actually. Go with the flow girl, like a little bird! Ahahaha
@TheMapPinners4 жыл бұрын
Haha I don’t blame you! We get it. Moving is hard work. It is funny though that we don’t mind traveling full time and constantly moving when it comes to that kind of adventure though 😄

Always remember to repent of your sins (sin is transgression of YAHUAH’S LAW: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, & Deuteronomy) And Have Belief On YAHUSHA HAMASHYACH. HE Died and Rose three days later so that you can be forgiven of your sins! HE Loves you! Come to HIM!🙂

You guys seem way too nice for Boston.. Jk lol but I’m also not kidding. Attitude is like regular communication out here. Have you noticed that yet? I’ve gotten attitude being super happy bubbly like you guys before because naturally that’s how I am but sometimes I just gotta turn that shit off. I live close to Downtown though, could have something to do with it.
@TheMapPinners4 жыл бұрын
Yea we thankfully haven't seen too much of that, but we live in the Allston/Brighton area. Plus I work north of the city, and people are really nice up there. But we have experienced that rude-ish attitude downtown before, so I definitely get where you're coming from

Am I a teenager trying to convince my parents to move us to New York so I could be near my best friend? Yes. Am I doing a bunch of research and currently making a power point and an essay on why we should move there and what houses I’ve found that would accommodate us and jobs for my parents and the schools I could go to? Yes. Am I probably working too hard for this just to get rejected? Probably. :,)

Why the f*** would you move to this awful state? Boston is not “cool” except for the 7 months of god awful weather. Why not move to a warmer state like San Diego?
@TheMapPinners4 жыл бұрын
We moved here for a few reasons! First, we both wanted to try out a bigger city on the East Coast. So far we have loved being close to a ton of cool places, like New York City and the mountains up north. Second, we both have family living in the area. So it's fun to live near them for a little while. Third, we love traveling overseas to Europe, and we know that Boston offers some cheaper flights and shorter flight times to European cities (when there isn't a pandemic happening, of course). As for the weather, we're both originally from Minnesota, so we are already used to the crappy weather haha. I think we'll have to try a warmer location next though!

I guess this couple believe they are alleged GOOD people. But they deny the labor common goods that was promised to Yoruba Diasporans from the Eurasian common wealth. From the 1500s.
