I heard Joe say that he wondered if his father, who died when he was just 20 months old (I cannot remember the exact words) but paraphrasing - Would he be proud of me? Joe in my mind there can be no doubt. Not in your rock stardom but in the man you have become. The more I learn about you the more I respect and admire you.

An absolutely inspiring person. When you think how close he was to being another "rock'n'roll casualty" it's a nothing short of a miracle that he turned things around. I can't help but wonder if the island and the connections he made with it and the people on it were there in the back of his mind when he was at his lowest and it gave him reason to be a different person. Thanks for your comment, Lucas. We think alike. From Tom in Texas.

I worked on the Breakwater, watched the cowboys getting off the boat Vaquero & back on the next day headed for Santa Cruz. I knew about Dr. Stanton but not much about his personal history. The friends of mine who were commercial divers BRAVED the waters around these islands, it's not all paradise when the winds come up. They really are one of Americas last untouched wilderness treasures. Bless you Joe,.....for doing right by the doctor, your friend & showing how it's done.

My memories of Joe Walsh go back his last night playing at "the Jail" in Strongsville, Ohio, the night before his going to LA to record the first James Gang Album. Joe went through hell and emerged to be a different man from the rocker of his early years. Something like this does not surprise me a bit. Unknown to us, there was a wonderful spirit living in side that "nut job" that we all thought he was. Although Joe is not a Cleveland, Ohio native, all of us from there and from those rocker years, have a special place in our hearts for him. I would dearly love to meet Joe, relate my little "Strongsville" story and thank him for some great music memories, After all "Life's ben good so far". ;-)

I always did like Joe Walsh. He was or steel is one of the great ones. Some of the songs he made were so cool like Rocky Mountain Way life‘s been good to me so far stay out all night long. This is one cool guitarist. I think he was wonderful with the Eagles he fit right in with them. Put a lot of character to that band gave them that good rock ‘n’ roll sound. Not that the Eagles weren’t good without him they were. The Eagles was one of mine all time favorite bands. Joe Walsh just added some spice to it. But still yet even with the Eagles or all by himself he is one hell of a guitar player one of my all time favorites along Live Joe Walsh I wish you more success as he lives on.
