Hey! Coming from a pharmacy student, each medication is indicated based on the symptoms you described. When you said the mucus was green, I already knew you had an infection. I’m sure the inhaler is prescribed as take as needed and it’s just meant to help relax and open up your lungs so you can breathe better. Also please don’t share any medicine with Quan. 😂 Completing the full regimen even if you start feeling better is necessary. When people don’t finish the full regimen, it allows the “bad” germs chance to get immune to the antibiotic and it’ll be worse next time. Take care and get well soon.

I have asthma and without my inhaler I don't think I'd be able to make it when I got sick. I think Rissa would be so surprised by how it really relieves the tightness in your lungs. I hope she tries it at least once and it helps. Definitely think this comment above needs to be bumped! ❤

@Riss & Quan , As a Nursing student, I second this. Inhaler doesn’t automatically mean asthma or that you will need it for the rest of your life. As a child, I had tonsillitis and they had prescribed me an inhaler at some point just because my tonsils would get so enlarged that it would probably conflict with my breathing. I think the inhaler is to help you with the Shortness of breath 🤗

The steroid will help with inflammation and the inhaler will help open your airways! I’m a respiratory therapist and people definitely overuse their inhalers so make sure you use as needed, but don’t be afraid to use it if you feel short of breath because they work! Feel better Riss and Quan!

Hey ya'll! I'm an NP and former ICU nurse..The inhaler is to help the inflammation in your lungs and help you breathe better, and it that will reduce the wheezing as well, which comes from them being inflamed! Take all the antibiotics of course and the Steroids will make you feel like you're 17 again lol! Hope you guys feel better!

Prayers. Rissa, please make sure you follow up with your PCP. Infection of the lungs…it sounds like you may want to have further testing like X-rays and labs. Urgent Care is not equipped for further testing. Fluid in/on lungs is a symptom of pneumonia. Quan, I agree with Rissa, you should’ve gotten checked out because you could have something different. What she has seems a little more severe. Prayers. #RissaQuan

Hey Riss and Quan! It’s always cool to get a second opinion if you feel you haven’t been heard, for peace of mind, etc. But also there are different kinds of medicines that can be dispensed through an inhaler which treat a variety of respiratory problems which won’t make you dependent on them. Also, doctors have always worn masks to protect themselves against airborne diseases and when the majority of people wore masks, the number of flu cases were dramatically reduced. Please make sure you vet your sources. I hope you all feel better soon! Love watching your beautiful family!!!

Coming from a Registered Nurse She shouldn’t share antibiotics & also she needs to take the full course of medication to get rid of the infection if u don’t take it all there’s a risk the infection won’t fully leave and it will come back. & The steroid is to help the fluid in ur lungs. And as for the inhaler you should definitely do rissa! It’ll help speed up ur recovery because the inhaler helps to reduce your airway inflammation which is causing u to have the shortness of breath. As someone who grew up with childhood asthma and still gets sick every now and then, the medicine prescribed is pretty routine. Of course, the antibiotic will help with the actual infection and the medicine in the inhaler should help with the cough, reduce any fluid that may be in the lungs and help with the congestion. The steroids, which personally I don’t care for, helps with the inflammation. Unfortunately it can cause weigh gain but being that you have a low dosage and won’t be on it for a long period of time, I don’t think it’ll affect you much. I think you could get away with just the antibiotic, inhaler and natural remedies and be just fine. But everyone’s different so do what’s best for you. Apologies for the long comment but these infections plagued my childhood so I figured any knowledge I had may help. If y’all see this anyways 😊 But I hope you all get better soon 🤎

I doubt Rissa will see this but for anyone else who’s been dealing with frequent illnesses after giving birth, I highly recommend getting checked out by a doctor for any deficiencies. I’ve had the same problem after giving birth over a year ago and to my surprise it’s because I don’t get enough sunlight and ended up with a vitamin d deficiency. I looked up the symptoms and sure enough, getting sick all the time was the first symptom amongst it also effecting teeth and bone health. Get checked out!

Hi Rissa and Quan! I’m super late on watching your videos but I am currently a 4th year pre med student and have been working at an ENT ~Allergy office for about 6 months now. For the medications Urgent Care prescribed you, you said that she diagnosed you with a lung infection; this meaning your lungs are weak most likely due to a virus that is going around. Because of this, my ENT doctors tend to prescribe a steroid to help strengthen your lungs following the infection. Because you are wheezing, the inhaler is likely as needed and helps to dilate your air ways if you have difficulty catching your breath as your lungs heal. The antibiotic is likely a preventative measure! Because your lungs are weak, you are at high risk for secondary infections that are bacterial. Thus the antibiotic (if your initial infection was bacterial or not) can help fight any lingering infection you may have (bacterial) or help to prevent future infections from any bacterial agents that you may come across. Sorry, I’m super interested in this type of stuff and medicine in general so I wanted to help out!

Hope y'all feel better soon Praying for y'all. Don't use sugar in your tea it's better to sweetened it with your local honey and drinking warm water with honey and lemond is very beneficial. I have severe asthma the Albuterol inhaler is just to help you breathe better and open up your lungs when you're feeling like it's difficult to breathe you just use it as needed nothing to be worried about getting hooked on 😂

I had bronchitis a few weeks ago. I was miserable. I can empathize with how you are feeling. I had to use an inhaler also, but I’m asthmatic normally. You are wise to be cautious about using an inhaler. I hope you feel better soon!! 🙏🏾💜🙏🏾💜

Bronchitis is the term for inflammed mucus filled lungs early diagnosis first stage of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease which happens in later stages as it progresses its called COPD, which inhalers are given but theres no cure after numerous excarbation/flare up fluid filled lungs it continues to worsen despite inhaleres, steroids, oxygen, nebulizers. It is also known as smokers lung disease where it often occurs. This condition leads to continuous hospitalization unfortunately, as frequent mucus builds up obstructing the airways. Best remedied with a lung cleanse that is herbal to prevent progression and heal lung tissues.

@@Majesty12-12 I’m confused why I was given a medical diagnosis. It was a temporary condition. This response is weird.

Hi, Rissa and Quan It's okay to see a different Urgent Care if you need a second opinion. I don't usually take medicine (prefer liquid medicine over pills); reply on natural remedies. 1. Plenty of rest 2. Drink hot tea with Honey 3. Drink lots of room temperature water 4. Wear comfortable clothes 5. Have a thick blanket over (helps sweat off the sickness)

Yes, I know we have had the same thing happening. Its awful and it just keeps lingering on and on I'm so tired of it. It doesn't matter what we do either washing hands, disinfecting, going to the doctor, nothing is helping.

I had a severe headache for 2 weeks. Achy all over and finally went to the dr and they put me on antibiotics for a severe sinus infection and ear infection. There are some really nasty stuff going around. I’m literally straight across the country from you in Oregon.

Rissa, a lung infection is just basically asthmatic symptoms, hence why you can hear the crackling/wheezing when breathing. They heard the wheezing in your lungs when you were taking deep breaths. The inhaler will not make you addict or dependent on it; It will just help clear air path way, so you may obtain more O2. Be careful with the steroids, regardless of the mg, as it can make you feel anxious & jittery. However, it will help knock out what’s going on. Quan, you should get checked to see if you can get a Z-pack to help with the congestion. Stay on top of your fluids, rest, and eating. We’re seeing and treating a lot of individuals with these symptoms in the ED, where we’re giving a lot of breathing treatments. Please get some good immunity vitamins (B, C, & D), as this will help boost your immune system. There is vitamin drops for Shine & Savior you may give them, as well. Love you both 🥰

Also a few KZbinrs I watch are also sick and they said they had soar throat cause it hurt to swallow and they cough a lot too. So I wonder what is going around. It’s never good to share medication that is prescribed by a doctor. Quan could have something different like you said Rissa.

Same issue in my household currently 🫠 I hope you guys get better soon 🙏 Rissa try inhaling peppermint in hot water, rub your chest and black with vicks, and pat up and down the kids back (on the sides) to help loosen up the mucus so it comes up when they cough. It's probably a viral infection so ensure to rest and stay hydrated. Quan you might be able to get a stronger dose or different antibiotics 😂 don't use the same meds without being checked out
