M B Well I didn't the say it improved the series, but must have made some fans smile, especially fans of the 11th Doctor. But I agree, the series does lack something that made Doctor Who so good, not to say the series is awful, but something is missing, I'm hoping Series 12 will actually deliver something better, because they can't ignore the past of the Doctor forever. They even started to do that in Series 2 (referencing more of Regeneration, Cybermen, Sarah Jane, K9, his children) and so forth, but even Series 1 had the Doctor's past be important, it was this mystery you wanted to know (Time Lord, the Time War) etc.

At the very least then, Thirteen is 2200 years old, but there could be any number of centuries in between travelling so I say her starting age must be closer to 2400.

Yeah, I honestly think of the "problems" with her run, she was far and away NOT one of them. If anything, I think maybe a problem was that they tried to put her Doctor into too "epic universe-ending scale" with a dark moody atmosphere similar in tone to Capaldi's run... which doesn't fit her Doctor's personality at all. Even David Tennant's "universe-ending scale" stories were frequently ingrained with permeating humor (literally making quips to Davros' face) because that fit who his Doctor was. I think it's a similar problem to Colin Baker's run, in that his "abrasive" Doctor didn't fit the tone or aesthetic of the stories he was in. But when you put him into more subdued "moodier" stories, like his amazing Big Finish audios that sometimes had intense war/thriller/horror atmosphere, it worked a lot better. I think the biggest thing is that I wish she'd gotten a run more aesthetically tailor-made to her Doctor's personality (the way the other one's did), as opposed to Whittaker and Chibnall's visions almost feeling tonally at war with each other. I think these darker stories could've fit a Doctor like 12, but they don't fit 13's personality at all.

@@ponquin That would only be because great heights is something people find them self in less frequently and so is more foreign to them. Car travel is common place, so that would explain the brain’s adaption to it as such. Plus even though cars on average kill more people, you’re still more likely to survive a car crash than a plane crash if both were to occur, just one is less probability of occuring leading to a fatality. Heights also feel more dangerous, you have less control, and in an airplane there is no stopping and getting out. So I imagine there are many factors that contribute to the fear and anxiety of the height itself. Yet still it is more irrational to fear something less that is more likely to kill you. Regardless of the reasons for the visceral reaction and anxieties.

I want everyone to just take a moment to remember that the Eleventh Doctor spent 500 years or something on Trenzalore, and the Twelfth spent 4.5 billion years in the Confession Dial. So from the Doctor's perspective it's been at least 4 500 000 500 years since she made that order.

@@nathanielweller25 Not exactly, it's kinda complicated (though actually by around the time of the confession dial the Doctor was about 1200 or so?). Long story short, the Doctor repeated the same loop for about 4.5 billion years, but each doctor always died and cloned himself at the end of the loop. So technically the doctor that escaped was still about the same age as when he went in. There's also some time dilation stuff going on, since when the Doctor escapes, the General and the woman from the Sisterhood of Karn are both still alive and in their same regeneration, no way they would live that long even for time lords, much less retain their regeneration and ages. So you can kind of assume the 4.5 billion years only happened in the confession dial and the doctor came out the same age that he went in, just several loops later and only with the memory of the most recent loop.

Though, to be fair, I'm the one who used the word "clone" as such, they may have used a different word in the episode itself that means it was the same doctor. I also think it's heavily implied that whatever happens inside the confession dial actually doesn't happen, it's a prison of their own making that only releases when they confess, not actually a place they get brought to as such. Honestly for some things like that it's best not to think too hard, there's far more mindbenders about what age the doctor is in both classic and newer Who, they've always been vauge-ish about the Doctors age. It's only in recent years they went with the 900 thing, in the classic series the Doctors age ranged from anywhere between 400 to thousands of years old (according to the thrid doctor at least)

I love how violent travelling seems! We’ve heard a lot about how chaotic and dangerous being in the time vortex is but you never really got that sense when we saw the TARDIS flying in it. The shields are only for when the TARDIS is stationary. When it is in the time vortex, it is in a higher dimension, and only other time-devices and such are supposed to be able to reach it. Most of the TARDIS is in a higher dimension all the time (dimensional engineering). It's only the police box which is in normal space, and thus needs a shield.

@@SeedFactoryProject the console room and outer shell are meant to exist in different dimensions. When you walked through the doors you crossed the boundary. I remember from the older stories ( Pertwee or Baker ) the Dr explaining it to a companion ( i think Sarah Jane ) but yeah, nothing is supposed to be able to penetrate the Tardis. If the Doctor was expecting a delivery from Kerblam, then its safe to assume she has used the service before. Therefore the Shields may be set to let the Kerblam delivery men in. Or its possible, that when she realised what it was chasing the Tardis, she THEN turned the shields off to let this particular Kerblam man in.
