You should learn basic greetings / honorifics (sir, uncle, elder), in Dogon. It's really, really important, the way you greet elders in most west African towns greatly defines peoples perceptions of a person and greeting elders properly in the local dialect would impress them more and make them trust you and open open up to you more.

When the translator says sacrifice he just means giving away something to others that need it more than you. which is charity as some religions would put it. in many African cultures when one gives he/She gets more. I also heard "Sige na", Sige na in the Phillippines means "C'mon or come on, wow i am really proud Tagalog language has some ties with the Dogon, even the way it is pronounced in Dogon. The Elder loves the African American manning his eyes he shows a natural affinity with him. He looks very happy and excited. I sense he was not sure about the native interpreter. That is my reading of the meeting.

I speak and understand both locals dialects. Let me tell you. Your translator ( Bambara to English) don’t want to have headaches so he simply keep important details. Also when he can’t translate exactly, he just jump and give his personal explanations. For exemple, from minute 8 to 9.40, the elder gave a specific recipe for a ritual and 2 different ways to execute it. But the second translator ( Bambara to English) skipped all this part and the details and made up is own stuff! The elder didn’t said to do something with turkey ( the translator added it). 😂😂😂 again, at the end about contacting the ancestors, he didn’t correctly translated , so the elder understood something else. However the elder explained how to find your ancestors when you’ll die not on this human time. Again, he kept it and made up a whole story about donating/charity.... That’s my boy! He was tired of staying on his feet outside with the sun

Very interesting. So our ancestors learned how to make a space bridge to come to earth. They knew more about technology then we currently do. For an example of a space bridge (seems silly but scifi is closer to reality then we think) watch the animated show from 2010 transformers prime. They use a space bridge to get from cybertron to earth. It's like a worm hole without the massive gravitational forces. So its really possible to make a space bridge. Please more videos! The thing about paying respect to your ancestor through giving the needy and pleasing the ancestors is still practiced in India. We still do some charity to the poor and needy on the death day of our father, mother and grand and great grand parents, and believe that they get it through them and bless us. I am surprised hear the same.
