Springfield actually has a kick ass city bus network. It runs til dang near midnight and it covers the entire city map. On weekdays CU Transit runs main routes every 30 minutes.

I don’t know about crime but I lived in Columbia Mo and that town along with St Louis and KC are the top crime and drug cities. Technically there are drug addicts everywhere along with Homelessness. I know when I lived in Joplin for College, Springfield was the place to go for things to do. I would like to buy a home in Springfield to go to when we have to come back to Missouri every month from RV living to pick up meds and doctor appointments. But…. I would rather find a boondocking place instead. Homes are crazy. Why can’t I find a turn key for $125,000 anymore 😂 love the videos and been watching you all, just finally started to like and comment 😂. I admit though Springfield is the center of all the fun Missouri has to offer.

Hey there, Uniquely Abled Travelers! That's cool to hear that you have joined our chat. 😂 Honestly, crime and homelessness anywhere is always sad to see. But there are SO many good places around the city that we could talk about and enjoy! The cost of living ALONE had gone up all over the US, so finding real estate for a good price is more valuable than ever. AND if it's in a place you like the better!

Hey, Brother...love ya man, and can't wait to watch your videos for a vast, multitudinous, cornucopias plethora of reasons. And I'll even admit that Willard has a major advantage over Republic: its proximity to Republic; its proximity to Andy Dalton, where I took my grandkids numerous times; its providing a place that no matter where you go from Willard, it's an improvement, as exactly the reverse of Republic; providing a place for people from Bois D'Arc a place to go to and feel better about living in Bois D'Arc. And I'm sure there are other benefits & advantages as well. I can't think of any, but I'm sure they exist. In all seriousness though, I really miss living there. As to Springfield being a small town... yes it is. But that's part of its charm. You realize you live in a small town when you go to Hy-Vee's and walk up and down the aisles with your mouth wide open, just a'lookin' at all them vittles! Or if you go to San Diego on a visit and you get sunburned tonsils from looking at all the tall buildings. Perhaps that's Springfield's greatest asset (except for being close to Republic). About 15 years or so ago, I needed to get physical therapy following surgery on my right foot. My physical therapist and her husband had moved to Springfield from Kansas City. She showed me a sweat shirt that read, "Springfield Missouri. Similar to a city. Guaranteed to be 99 & 44/100s% culture-free". At that time, having moved to Republic from San Diego, and having escaped from New York City by enlisting in the Navy when I was 17, I agreed with her. In January of 2000, when my wife and I moved there, I felt like I was living the old TV show, "Green Acres". But now, having moved away to Noblesville Indiana, a suburb of Indiannoplace, I really do miss living in the Ozarks, or as I used to sign my emails to corporate in the winter,. "Matt In The Frozarks". I reckon the old saying is true: you don't really appreciate something till you no longer have it. So what keeps me here? Family considerations are the primary reason. I feel like the Israelites felt with the Red Sea in front of them, the Egyptian army behind them, and the dessert on both sides. I pray almost daily that God will open the Red Sea for us, and move us all back home! Yes, I said "back home"!) ************ (@ Ken: In the over 16 years my wife & I lived in Republic, I worked as a manufacturer's rep, and drove all over the area, and even as far as Joplin and Rogersville, calling on my clients. I never, at any time felt threatened or endangered, and I had a lot of clients on the north side of Springfield, as well as in the fancier neighborhoods. If you believe the crime is bad in Springfield, try living in or near Indy! I'm not even referring to, or even including minor non-violent crimes: I'm talking homicides! In 2022, 249 people died in homicides. Of those, 249 were killed in criminal homicides. That's a 15% decrease in homicides, but it's still that's 0.68 murders a day, which is horrifyingly close to a murder a day. "A murder a day, is all we ask", to paraphrase a cranberry commercial.

Hey, brother! Or "Matt in the FROzarks".... 🤣 We may have to steal that! We thought we would give you a shoutout since we have been doing so many videos that talk about surrounding areas! Also you have us cracking up at "Willard has a few advantages.... it's proximity to Republic" 😂 One thing I find about the people that move here, is that many tend to end up coming back. There's just something about this area that makes it so special. And it's encouraging to see others see it too! I hope you're doing well, out there in Indiana! Wow, that is too far from home!😆

@@wiserlivingrealty Thanks, Bro. I'd be hard-pressed to put into words how much I truly miss the Ozarks in general, and our home in Republic specifically. Oh, by the way, the latest gun I bought is a Charter Arms Undercover with a bobbed hammer for my wife's carry gun. On Valentine's Day, I took her to P. F. Chang's (one of my old customers from before I retired) and then to a local range, where she tried out my Undercover, and then to a local gun store to trade in her Walther PK 380. (And I bet you thought us old folks didn't know how to be romantic!). I carry the same gun, but with the standard hammer. Sometimes I carry the Charter Arms Police Undercover, or the Rock island Armory m 206, or the Taurus 856 Ultra Lite. You?

OOOOOHHHH Matthew... Where have you been my whole life? I should of been taking marriage advice from you ages ago! Im planning our next date right now!
@matthewrobinson4323 Жыл бұрын
@@wiserlivingrealty Have no fear. Republic Matt is here! Where have I been your whole life? Well, until January 2000, I was in San Diego CA. Then, we rented a house on Magnolia, in Battlefield for a couple of months till we bought our house on Cox Ave in Republic, where we lived till July 2016 when we moved to our current home on Pathway Pointe in Noblesville, IN. As to your next date: I'm really at a disadvantage since I don't know you & your wife. But when we lived in Republic, we usually went to Jimm's Steakhouse, even before it was Jimm's. I recommend the salad bar, the 16 oz prime rib, loaded baked potato, and bread pudding for dessert. The restaurant in Bass Pro is also good, but not as romantic. My wife loves Hinode's, but again, that's not very romantic. Sadly, Zio's is gone, but there's a very nice, romantic Italian place, the name of which escapes me, on the s.w. corner of National & Battlefield in a strip mall, that's very cozy and romantic. Wiser Realty has videos on restaurants that could be helpful to you. Then, what could be more romantic than going shooting together at, say, Bass Pro? Or if the weather's nice, Andy Dalton? Then, you could take your wife shopping for her next gun. I'm partial to Charter Arms revolvers, but again, I'm hampered by not knowing your wife and your preferences, and I apologize for that. I'd recommend smaller, local gun stores such as Family 1st Pawn in Republic or Loftus Jewelry in Springfield, as the pricing will be lower than the big box stores. That's not to disparage Bass Pro or Kelley's, as I have purchased guns in both those places, but the money you save on the handgun purchase could be invested in a nice romantic box of ammunition. Nothing says, "I love you" better than a box of 148 gr. wadcutters to go along with her new Charter Arms Undercover. But I'm sure you knew that already. For my birthday 1n 2022, my wife bought me a Charter Arms Police Undercover, and for Valentine's Day this year, I bought her a Charter Arms Undercover. I hope you find this helpful. Great!!! Now I'm battling homesickness again!

Every time you post these type of vids, feels like I gotta put staying in Mo and living In Springfield back on the list. Currently favoring moving back west. Sure you don’t get all my airlines (ex. southwest), but that airport is amazing. Growing up using LAX and having to still use it to visit family, I appreciate being able to show up just before a flight and checking in less than 15 min. No feeling or being rushed or having to transverse huge terminals.

There is so much more to Missouri than Springfield! I just found Wiser Living Realty today and am listening. I live in a rural area, which my nephew calls "hour town" because I'm an hour away from everywhere. I live in AR but have a MO address!

Ooh! I like the way that sounds! An "hour town", honestly, there really is so much. I also think it's a good distance from small attractions, AND it's about equidistant to St. Louis and Kansas City! Also..... how do you live in AR with a MO address? Just curious.

Robberson denizen here. This guy uses pastels when he oughta be usin' primaries. Our #1 problem is public apathy. Yawn. Crime/homeless are balanced by our huge medical complex and low cost of living. Springfield Public Schools graduates illiterates. Drury contributes more than its share of high end architects and lawyers. Suggestion: Ask this realtor to help you find someplace suitable to rent for 6 months or a year if necessary. Then use Wiser Living to help you find absolute best deal. Springfield has a very strange diversity.
