I grew up in Syosset and my friends and I would go to the castle at night when it was still abandoned and explore the place. You don’t know what scary is like til you’ve explored an abandoned castle at night! That building’s silhouette against the night sky is unbelievable! To see the difference in the place now is simply amazing!

I literally lived right down the street from oheka castle. As a kid i remember in the winter when the leaves fall off, driving from east to west towards it i was blown away by the view of the castle over the horizon. There's a side street, along the golf course, where you can see the castle up close, and its size is staggering. I would love to stay there for a night
