Niniri mentioning Hildy was certainly not something I expected this episode, but it gave me a good laugh when they did!

I really like the framing of this one. I don’t know all that goes into filming these kinds of things or how easy or hard it is. But the framing being as if Elioux and Niniri are sitting on the steps outside, I am pretty sure it’s qarn, facing each other as they talk is really nice. I especially respect it because this is the kind of video most people, myself included, usually just listen too. So going that extra mile and filming on location for just the background visuals shows a really impressive level of dedication and care. On that note all the effort that goes into filming all of the videos on the channel. All the visual gags and use of set dressing to help tell the stories in the more scripted and edited videos, its what makes this channel in particular stand out to me. That and Elioux just being genuinely good to listen to.

This pretty much feels like when during a documentary you have 2 hosts talking to eachother about the subject. It feels so comfortable, cozy and so informative. I love this content!

Man I love these videos, and I realize how much I've missed them since I haven't finished Endwalker yet. Glad there's some classic lore talks here and there while I try to catch up :P

is southern thanalan covered somewhere? Was looking for more specific stuff there bc its something I'm fascinated by right now. You noted uldah doesn't claim south of it bc its remote but I believe its actually the end of the continent and there isn't really anything south of it.... not sure.

Niniri will have an article out on it soon and I have a video on Thanalans geography/zones coming next week most likely. To answer your question though, southern thanalan technically has little Ala Mhigo which is under Uldah’s general protection, the shrines to nald thal and the gold saucer (Manderville is on the syndicate after all) but because but the sagoli desert is such a wastes and Zanrak is so dominated by the Amaljaa it is the region of Thanalan least under Ul’dahs sway (one might argue during ARR North Thanalan is due to castrums but you get the picture.) That we know the sagoli desert does lead all the way to oceans edge specifically cape dead wind and the sea of ash but there might be some small region we don’t know of between deadwind and the desert based on the greenery of the Eorzean map. -Elioaux

Loved this video! I had to do *so* much trawling to understand *anything* about the fall of Sil'dih and Belah'dia in the past year or so - you guys covered everything I found and so much more! I wanna do that sidequest now...

*snaps finger* That's it, the unused gate in central thanalan must lead to where old Ul'dah was XD (jokes aside I want them to open that gate so baaaad)

25:22 Qarn is literally a reference to Egypt’s temple complex called “Karnak” - “Karn” and “Qarn” being pronounced exactly the same way. Its not remotely subtle lmfao

When it comes to real life counterparts, what mirrors Ul'dah in your opinion? For me it mirrors Spain if one knows about it's history.
