This is a really clear explanation and the images and video helped a lot with it. Excited for the Myths of the Realm Alliance raid next year in Endwalker!

even as someone playing FFXIV since 2016~2017, these videos are amazing, and the same would go for any other player I’m sure, new or old. It’s nice to remember some forgotten details and they are laid out in a great relaxing but engaging format. Thanks for all the work everyone puts in to make these videos and also I love the website, keep up the amazing work everyone!

Game 2 Work brought me here! These videos are perfect for new players and veterans alike! Explaining the lore in small easily digestible bits. So that even hopelessly forgetful players like me can learn a thing or two to give even more life to the world our character inhabits. Thank you! Stay safe. ❤️

It's not. Given when this was made, it would've probably had to have been a mod. It is in the game files now, but was added only recently, and isn't yet available. It's supposed to be added to the online store soon, as far as we know.

This is a really good video, but your pronunciation of most of the Twelve's names (and a few other in-game names, like Sharlayan) kinda makes me cringe. Some of that I get, but the ones that are frequently spoken in the English voice acting of the game? I know a lot of people who make videos like this have been playing since 1.0, back when there WAS no voice acting, so they had to come up with their own pronunciations and got attached to them, but I feel like if I was making a lore video, I'd be careful to pronounce them the same way they do in-game, even if I personally didn't like those pronunciations and was more attached to my own.

I tried to find every time the name was used in-game in VO. The ones that I didn't weren't prefered just best guesses based off using JP, EN and other languages as a starting point. Not sure which ones you specifically have umbrage with but please by all means if you have a link to VO where the name is said id love to correct it for the future.

@@TheEorzeanArchives That's a pretty big project, to try and find links to videos of the voice acting for all of them, though I'm definitely going to keep an eye out now, as it sounds kinda fun. :) But, to try and point out some of what I was talking about: Llymlaen: I can't actually say you had this one wrong. They say it this way in the Limsa Lominsa intro. But I could swear I've heard it pronounced differently in other Limsa-related scenes (Lim-la-en, rather than Lim-layn), so I'll try to hunt down such scenes. Rhalgr: this was a minor one, but you mostly seemed to say it Ral-gr rather than Rahl-gr. Byregot: Even though we got this guy in a recent raid, I don't think they've said his name in voice acting. ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Byregot claims that it is pronounced bee-ehr-go, which I believe they get from how the JP version is spelled. Since they weren't created in Japanese, the JP spellings are meant to make the pronunciation as close to how it should sound in English (which is the language they were created in) as possible. Azeyma: This one I *know* I've heard pronounced somewhere in-game before, but I'll have to find it. It is pronounced A-zay-ma, not A-zee-ma. Nophica: Should be Noh-fi-ka, not Nah-fi-ka. This can be heard in the Gridania intro of the game (kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZu4fKiLr9Rgfdkm45s). Nymeia: Nih-may-uh, not Nigh-mee-uh. Actually going through and listing them, I notice you had more than half of them right. It just felt like more because with each one, you list their relationships to the others. :P But like I mentioned with Byregot, the JP spelling of the names is probably the best way to guess at the pronunciation of those that haven't been voice acted.

@@TheEorzeanArchives The one that gets me every time is your pronunciation of aether. In every voiced line in the game that has it, they see EE-thur.
