Try Spiritus Mortis, Dawn of Winter, Isole, Capilla Ardiente, Grief Collector, Solitude Aeturnus, Avatarium, While Heaven Wept & Sorcerer. All of them are amazing, have mostly clean vocals and have much to do with Epic Doom / Doom Metal. You may also like Grand Magus and Trouble, although they're closer to Power/Heavy.

You guys who are bashing the lyrics clearly don't listen to much old school metal. Yes the lyrics are kinda cheesy, but it's in the awesome, lovable way that old school metal typically is, and frankly you can interpret some meaning from them. I loved the line about spitting poison in soup from the first time I heard this!!

I don't even hear a shred of resemblance to Midnight, but he was one of my favorite vocalists so it's a high standard to reach for me. Vocalist sounds more like Metal Church to me. Regardless, I don't have the same problem with this vocalist that others have, although I agree that the lyrics are pretty bad.

The line about the soup and the line about the stew were just god awful. The rest of them are ok. not amazing but decent "metal mad-libs" type lyrics where it's nonsensical gibberish but it sounds metal.

What are you lot on about? The lyrics are awesome, cheesy but in the good way! In the evening, I spit the poison in your soup, that's an awesome line. I find this type of writing fairly creative and enjoyable but loveably cheesy in the way old school metal usually is.
