Hodor knew he was taking a quest to his death. He saw his own death and it ruined his mind. But he was still brave to face his destiny and went to it as a true hero.

Hodor knew about his own death by seeing it happen as a young man, which changed him forever. So leaving with Bran years before to protect him, Hodor knew this was leading to his death and still did it anyway. It's so sad and heroic at the same time. That music playing while he tried to hold the door, ugh it makes me cry every time. Yes he was always going to hold the door.

As I understand it, Bran, while in the past, hears Meera saying "we need you to warg into Hodor", and the three eyed raven tells him to listen to his friend. So Bran wargs into past Wyllis/present day Hodor and that creats a connection between the two and breaks his brain. And during that time he's hearing Meera scream hold the door in present day while Bran is urging the same thing from the past.

Aww Kev ... when I saw which episode we were on today, I really felt for you! 😉 And then proceeded to cry (again!) watching the 'hold the door' scene with you! That 'sweet giant', as Osha called him, was such a hero 💔 With the time travel thing, I tend to think of it as kind of circular, rather than linear ... then it doesn't mess with my head quite so much! 😂

I think Hodor had a premonition during what looks like a seizure in the flashback. But after that, he wasn't capable of sharing that "HOLD THE DOOR" meaning...IDK...Just my humble thought on it.😊

Bran was holding a connection to both the present and past at the same time. When he wargs into Hodor he gives Hodor the same connection and he's able to see his future death, which breaks his mind. Then he goes forward anyway, knowing how things end up, making his death one of the most heroic in the entire story.

I imagine that the very act of Bran warging into Hodor at the same time he was viewing that moment in the past, Hodor meeting his end in the present time while mind-linked through Bran, it basically broke Willis' brain. But since then he's been Hodor, that means the past is alreay set, its not like Bran can look into the past and affect things. Time is already written, there's no changing that. Its what truly makes me sad for Hodor, I cry every time I see this episode. His whole life, he was destined to die like this. And he knew it. He must have known. And he did it anyway. RIP, Hodor. A true Hero of Westeros.

People always remember Hodor in this episode, and his death was sad dont get me wrong, but the real unsung hero is Summer. There was no time travelling, brain washing mumbo jumbo going on with Summer - he willingly sacrificed himself for his hooman. Hodor’s death was emotional, yes, but Summer’s yelp just hits different. RIP Summer, goodest boy ever.

I wasn't a book reader and loved the entire series. Book readers really couldn't handle story that wasn't written by George R. R. Martin, to them it failed and now everyone must hear about it in perpetuity . Sit back and enjoy. Seasons 5, 6, 7 and 8 rock.

I think, with all the sad things in this show. The Hodor twist to me was the saddest. Because he is so sweet, as he was as Wylis in his young age. Never did anything evil (unless Bran got in his head)

Yes Night King its so far a show thing not a books thing. There's a load of fun speculation on who he is a former Stark? A former Targaryen? Or nobody? Hodor is heartbreaking. Its a closed time loop so his fate, the 3 eyed raven & Brans have already been written. The question still remains can Bran alter the past since he's more powerful with his warging skills. We are waiting on GRRM.

To me ....7 isn't horrible it has its moments, 8 isn't the worst thing I've ever seen....its just not up to the standards. Basically all of 8 and parts of 7 just suffer from pacing. You got used to storyline and character development.... 7 and 8 were kinda "ok we are wrapping this up in x number of episodes so..... you have about 2 minutes to finish up the 4 or 5 seasons of character development and it needs to be clean; no grey areas or anything just say it or do it and lets move on.. we need to do the same for someone else in a few minutes"

Don't listen to the haters. Just come to your own opinions. The last couple of seasons were not as good, mostly because they rushed everything. It's hard to stick the landing. That's a big reason GRRM has yet to finish anything. Myself? I enjoyed the entirely of the seasons and while the last 2 left something to be desired, I still found many things to enjoy.

Game of Thrones is the greatest television drama in the nearly 100 years of television (along with The Sopranos). Don't let anyone tell you different. Yes, season 8, is the weakest, a bit rushed, but it's still GOT. Season 8 won an Emmy for best drama, for Pete's sake! All the haters are just hurt that their favorite character didn't wind up on the TV throne. They grew up watching too many Disney movies.

I looked on Patreon and you are wanting to charge 40 dollars to watch a couple of Seasons of "GoT", when I already pay HBO to watch the show. I understand that people pay to be a Patreon Member, because I have paid to be a member to many, but I have never seen one reactor charge for a specific series. That makes zero sense to me. I would have joined if it wasn't for that. I bought all 8 Seasons for not a whole lot more than that.
