I bought the full set of six AP 45rpm Doors albums a couple years ago when they all came back in stock. $360 for 12 LPs is/was a bargain in the audiophile realm. They all sound fantastic.

I have 1 boot in my collection, Mechanical Animals, and it is so-so. The spindle hole was extremely tight, and the vinyl had some cuts along the edge, but the overall sound was okay, probably a CD quality put on vinyl. I don't think it was made from a 24-bit FLAC. As for AP, the Doors sound amazing on 45 RPM. Having "The End" on one side is terrific. It is one of my favorite songs! I cut out the Hype stickers and place them inside the VSS gatefold sleeve. Yeah 2 weeks ago ,I picked up 3 Doors 45 rpm...now I have the all .I'm a Doors nut collector...I have like 100 Doors albums. All different copies,and record store days and bootlegs...plus,lots,of there cd boxsets and cds....

I had FOMO when the Electric Recording Company pressing of the Doors self-titled came and went (for like $500+), so I bought the AP 45 in its place. The ERC was universally panned, and the AP is probably the best sounding by a mile.

I love my Analogue Production version of John Lee Hooker’s It Serve You Right to Suffer. One of the best sounding album I own and, well, it’s John Lee Hooker.

I picked up all the Doors albums , ive been a big fan of the doors since they first came out, i'm 72 and a fan since the late 60's

You got the 3 best doors albums imo. Those are the only 3 i have also. I sold my copies of waiting for the sun, soft parade and morrison hotel. I decided I wanted the absolute best only.

I have several AP 45's. Including LA Woman. Big fan. You mentioned Jimi Hendrix, all of his reissues are pressed at Quality Records which is AP. I highly recommend AP's Stevie Ray Vaughan In Step which is in both 33 and 45. The 33 is around $40. Stellar pressing.

That clutch one just got an official release! The only boots I have are TOOL and Pantera (Pre-cowboys from hell). The Pantera sound suprisingly good, the TOOL not so much.

Tool REALLY needs to step it up, it's ridiculous really at this point! Give us legit vinyl reissues and then some (like 10,000 Days etc)

Analog productions hype stickers, I’ve never had any issues with peeling the black sticker. It’s just a slow process to pull off but that small gold round sticker is always impossible, you could try using butane lighter liquid, but it could get messy.

I have alot of the AP albums and love everyone of them. When it comes to record collecting I perfer great sound over just owning a poor sounding record just to own it.

I really wish I went for the 2 lp AP version of LA Woman, I ended up w/ the UHQR and I have a feeling the difference is minimal! My 2009 Rhino version of Strange Days sounds good enough for me. HOWEVER I did just order the s/t and Morrison Hotel 2lp AP versions!

I've heard that the UHQR has better energy and sounds more like a tight band playing, whereas the 45rpm sounds thick and dynamic but lacks the musical quality of the UHQR.

I’ve heard great reviews about those analogue productions releases but I haven’t bought any yet because $60 is a lot for me to spend on an album.

I think I'd have a problem buying copies unless the band is getting their cut. One of the reasons I buy physical media is to support the band.

How do these companies create bootleg and how is it profitable in the long run? How do they distribute?

They are typically pressed at small pressing plants in Europe (that’s why a lot of them say “European import” when you see them in record stores). It must be at least somewhat profitable if they keep selling. I know the Alice In Chains S/T album is a pretty hard bootleg to find because they sell so fast.

hello,ever since they have been re-issiueing classic LPS at 45 speed I said another cash grab,which it is,as a amature tech of how LPs are made,mastering process,,,,everybody knows basic sound quality,and what to expect from this type of tech 45rpm, lets be praticial,the riaa equlization curve is the same in analogue,wheather its a 45,,,or LP record, the sound reproduction,fidielty in the audio spectrum is the same,so buying a LP at 45rpm is reallly no different in this format,its not like film where you can increase the enhansement from 1080,to 2k,4k,film has that booast built it,sound waves do not,ask any sound engineer from any major label,thanks for your view,,dan diorio,

The rule I have for unofficial/bootleg albums is if/when there's an official release, I'll buy it. I always want to support the artist, but paying several hundred dollars for an official pressing on Discogs or eBay doesn't support the artist either.
