I remember my father playing this on the record player many times in 1971. I was 6 at the time and getting ready to turn 7 in July of that year. There was something about the voice of that singer and the words that permeated my mind. I had no idea who Jim Morrison was until I turned 19 years old when I heard the first doors album. The End had me hypnotized. I always felt like I had a kindred spirit with The doors. But didn't realize it until I heard their first album when I was 19.

@@Z-bone64 I remember driving with my mother and my aunt " Sis" when Light My fire came on the radio, I remember my aunt saying "he is such a handsome man". That resonated in my memory because she always told me how handsome I was as a 3 year old boy going on to be 4. I guess that was the beginning of me not trusting women 😂.

I get the 45 RPM YESTERDAY AND THEY DROP THIS LMAOOOOO Listening to it right now and it sounds absolutely incredible. This will be a cool step up for those that want the supervinyl/one step quality but the 45rpm will do for me personally. If you havent ordered from AP they send it in a tank of a mailer and it is truly excellent quality. The depth of sound is unmatched.

It's not as easy as it sounds. You need the cooperation of those who own the rights to the music. Many of them don't care (rich enough already) or have unreasonable terms.

Everything is right here on KZbin... every concert, outtake,LP, CD, cassette tape, demo, bootleg, boxset every song or word about the Doors, even Jims whisper vocals on Riders on the storm! They milked it dry guys😂😂 So...they will make something " new" what ..... allready excists... Which, at the end.... is nothing new.

this is always happening with release changes. They start with top quality in order to compete with other products, in this case it was against ONE-STEP MOFI. They created an amazing quality bookshelf-like case with a wooden border. Amazing. Now they know this costs a lot and they could save thousands remove that, and they cut corners. Just like Mofi did with smaller cases later on. Horrible. We already pay top dollar for a product, keep it as its was intended to exist from the beginning. I won't be purchasing more titles in those cases but focus on buying previous titles that are missing with the old cases, such as the Marleys. What a shame.

While I respect Robbie & John trying to keep the band's music alive, PLEASE tell them to finally release stuff that's NEVER been heard. I've bought multiple copies of ALL the albums in the last 50 plus years but stopped buying vinyl records in 1989 & haven't had a working turntable since 1995. I buy CD's ONLY. I do NOT buy download or any of that kiddie bullshit. I'm collector (and an obsessive completist) and MUST have tangible copies to hold if I'm spending money.

When it comes to this, I'd much rather have an original pressing over any modern fancy pants edition. I have the standard reissue of this LP unfortunately, but it is good enough. I'll never find an original pressing of it. I only have two "original pressings" (standard editions) in my Doors collection (Waiting For The Sun and the self-titled release). Of course, there were a lot more standard edition first pressings than 4500. Most of my records are first pressings, standard edition, I prefer those, technology flaws and all or not. I want to hear how it was originally done. I'm somewhat a historian and I grew up with these artists when they were making these records and I just want to keep that alive, so that is the sentimental value for me. I have no interest in these UHQR, Mo-Fi, LMNOP or whatever editions. I'm not saying they are not good, I have never heard any of them, but they just aren't worth obtaining for me personally. You could do some fancy edition of my two all time favorite bands and I still would not have interest even if they were $50 or something. Price is only a small part of my personal sentiment, but not the main drive of it. I already said the main drive of it. As for The Doors in and of themselves: I met Robbie Krieger and John Densmore (spent 40 minutes with Densmore) and no record edition will ever beat meeting artists. That is a whole other thing.

I have an original first pressing of The Doors' LA Woman. It sounds really good, but it doesn't sound as good as the AP/QRP 45 rpm reissue mastered by Doug Sax. That one is spectacular. This one will very likely be the best sounding 33 1/3 rpm version ever released. UHQR's are worth the money for artists and records you really love.

I didn’t hear that. If Chad is the guy in the video, he compared the 33 to the 45 saying, we knew we were gonna have a hard time beating the 45 - we were just hoping to get in the neighborhood. He said they smoked the original vinyl promo from back in the day.

this is a one step recording on special audiophile vinyl. It's supposed to be the best sounding, definitive version. And they already made the 45 rpm 2lp which is the current first place holder. It's not supposed to be cheap. It's supposed to be the undeniable best.

This is a cash grab. Acoustic Sounds already have the definitive version of LA Woman and with such high demand, they waited to sell as many as possible and then decided to drop this so they can double dip. With the price of UHQR, it's quad dipping really. I'll stick with my amazing 45 that cost $50.
