Light my fire(intro)
Fever (Light My Fire cont'd.)
Summertime (Light My Fire cont'd)
Recorded on April 10, 1970, as part of the Absolutely Live tour.
"Robby, Ray, and John stepped up to the plate to carry Jim until he sobered up for a bit. For the most part they're smokin', and through Jim's booze induced haze, he lets out a couple jewels that are truly memorable."

John Densmore - so underrated - jazz, march, rock - the perfect punctuation and accents to the other three's impros.

Actually, they were "experienced" musicians. Ray had been playing keys for 15 years before The Doors. John and Robbie were already established in other bands. Jim was the only member who came in with no experience. Don't look at as a negative, because no experience could have brought us The Doors.. it just happened.

You realize Jim Morrison wasn't a hippie he actually despised them. 'll just tell you how Jim felt about hippies; it may save some time. Basically, when he was at Isle of Wright Festival in England (a very hippie type of gathering) an interviewer asked Jim how he felt about hippies and the hippie movement. Jim called them "leeches" and pretty much insulted them in saying that they will always say they want a change but aren't self reliant and dedicated toward their change.

Damn straight. Densmore is arguably the most influential member of the band, in terms of the compositions. The bosa nova rhythm on "Break on Through" for instance was entirely his idea. He added more ideas than any other drummer. AND like you said, he's a fantastic live performer. His drum playing is equal instrumentally to the other players instruments. ALSO, thank God, he never did a drum solo. Next time you listen to the song LA Woman notice how the drums are instrumentally equal in intensity

Listening to them you would think so they are all so tight and seem to rock the shit out of their instruments, but they werent trained musicians and they had little experience besides john densmore. I think it was the acid and the weed, man. It brings us together and proves what anyone can accomplish by expanding their mind. and by the way js bach is the best keyboardist ever! listen to toccata and fogue shits DANK
