When I was 7 in 1967 .the doors music represents total freedom. Dick Clark always love bands with inspiration to give to his audience and people on his show. The doors will give new art work for young minds .

Jim Morrison was always an intellectual. He was a poet. He was more than a rock star that took too much peyote or LSD or cocaine. I have all his bios and his poetry books and An American Prayer on CD. Even in his lyrics, Jim was an intellectual. He never wrote "dumb, catchy hooks". He read German Philosophers like Friedrich Nietzsche and Franz Kafka. Jim Morrison is who got ME into reading Nietzsche and Kafka. Jim had a GENIUS IQ of 149. He met Ray Manzarek in UCLA Film School. He was going to be a filmmaker before he told Ray about his poetry lyrics and they formed The Doors. Jim Morrison was amazing. He was definitely more than you see if that falsified movie Oliver Stone put out in 1991 where Stone made up some of Jim's history for "dramatic license". Jim started out with drugs for enlightenment. He'd go out in the desert and just spend the day high as if he were on a spiritual journey. After the Miami Indecency Trial, he went to Paris to unwind from it all fully intending to return to the states. He had a phone conversation with either Ray or Robby Krieger talking about how great the L.A. Woman album was coming along and how he couldn't wait to sing the songs live. His death due to a cocaine-induced heart failure just happened to be when he was in a bathtub in Paris. Jim Morrison was THE VOICE of The Doors, no matter how Ray Manzarek wants to replace him in The Doors of the 21st Century. Well said my man! I had every f'n Doors album...1967 was the year for "Light My Fire" ...I was and impressionable 14 yr old at the time. After the Doors, dinner with my parents was never the same!

The year was 1967. The Doors had their first big album which it had 'Light My Fire' but it had the 7 minute version. It was one of the top songs of that year but in that year The Beatles had one of the best albums of all time...Sgt. Peppers, plus other big groups had big hits like The Who, The Association..'Windy', The Hollies, The Grassroots, Jefferson Airplane, The Turtles, Procol Harum, plus many 'garage' bands. It was truly a great year of memories.

It it is rumored that in the very beginning performing live on stage Jim would sing with his back to the audience as time when on and when he was feeling more comfortable about being on stage he finally turned around and once he did all the girls went nuts because he looked like some sort of Greek god.

Since Jim sung the lyric "we couldn't get much higher" on live TV they were banned from the Ed Sullivan show for life. Which was the most watched variety show on TV in the USA. Jim was supposed to change the lyric for the show-he did not!

If you watch The Doors movie with Val Kilmer (from 1991), I think you'd get a different look of this song, kinda like how everyone's "(re)discovered" Bohemian Rhapsody or Running Up That Hill over the last few years do to the movie/show. A funeral PYRE, in the old old days people, after they died would be burned on a "funeral pyre" Usually made out of wood from near trees. In many cultures only the "wealthy" would get a nice pyre. Kinda like today, cremation, and more expensive coffins. Side note: I mentioned this in a different reaction video and I will again, one more time only LOL...the video sound quality is very flat like an old but quality AM radio. I am even running an equalizer and it does not help. If your not sure what I mean, check out a different reaction channel and compare their to yours. I am not an Apple guy so no guesses as to why this is happening, but fixing it would up the enjoyment factor x100!!!!!! Thank you

This is a much shorter version of the original I imagine because of time restraints they had to shorten it up. Jim was a very talented person and was ahead of his time this song was recorded and released in 1967 so this is the reason for the clothing that was worn and the style of the hair was very in. You need to be more open minded about the songs and styles of the era since you weren't around at the time.

Man, this song loses so much of its "oomph" without the extended keyboard and guitar solos. I get that we have the "radio version" here, but man, it's just nowhere near as epic as the original.
