You should truly listen to his whole albums if you want to hear how much deeper he could (and did) go, musically and lyrically. One of the things Michael was most known for was spreading social awareness. He cared deeply about people, the environment, peace and fighting prejudices of any kind, and he did an incredible job in that field. And songs like They Don't Care About Us, Heal The World, The Man In The Mirror, Black Or White, or Cry are the perfect examples of it musically, while Earth Song is probably at the top of that group. Everything Michael ever did was done from his heart, with great passion, understanding for and love of people and the planet, and more modern artists and people of all walks of life could do with that.
