I think it is more that Beavis is so used to having no choice but to hang out with anyone aggressively telling him what to do. Butthead took away that agency, and since nobody else ever wanted to hang out with Beavis, Beavis was unable to say no.

Like Beavis is a tiny bit more wholesome but hes still Beavis. It's an amazing accomplishment this new show. It's like a writers masterclass.

If you folks remember the Christmas episode where Mike Judge parody'd the movie "It's a Wonderful Life" then you'll all see how nice Beavis actually is (or would have become) I forgot the name of the episode, but it was so awesome, when a lightning strike erased Beavis from Butthead's life in an instant and Butthead's expression was gold. 😊

Ha! This is beyond perfect! I've run into guys like that! They just won't leave you alone! And they are really polite, so you can't tell them off! They are either high, want to sell you leaf-proof rain gutters and solar panels, or are a minister at a local church or some special group. I once had to call the cops because the dude wouldn't leave alone after we've been walking the streets for several hours. And the cops were angry at me, "hey, he sounds like such a nice guy! why did you call us?!" And I was like, "You keep him!"
