astd was fucking amazing before the pucci update. the world 2 map was amazing even tho it wasnt too detailed it was amazing, now its some tokyo shit and world 1 map was cool back then too but now its a bit better honestly, and the old inf mode map was just perfect then they turned it into some raining tokyo shit then they turned it back to the same layout but the map was different and didnt feel the same. overall the "trying to copy aa thing" is stupid.

Honestly loved that era where they were just placing units that would be somewhat either viable for inf mode to extend upon what players can do like how snowrbx got the first wave 60 in inf mode, unlike at the point where 6 star gilgamesh came out and could nuke the whole map and gain another 5 waves because of it, powercreep was definitely the reason onto why this game eventually failed in the first place for sure.

The reason why it fell off so quickly is because of its lack of anything interesting. Characters had choppy, boring animations, a shift in the Meta was like every other day, the pull rates for most characters are abysmal and also too much overcomplicated content that could take hours to grind for.

@ I play Anime Adventures quite often and I haven’t seen any major meta shift. Like the portal secrets are still considered “Meta” in a sense(mostly it’s js Lunar Empress and Dragon Mage carrying) and the original mythics got double evolutions so they are still in the meta. The pull rate problem is mostly solved through how easy it is to get gems and the pity system. Getting good characters aren’t that hard either since like Dracula has his own raid and can be bought with currency and the portal secrets don’t have as bad of rates as getting a banner secret(since I’m pretty sure it’s less than 0.1% for a banner secret while a portal secret is like 1-4%.) And Anime adventures has been pretty straightforward with its grinding system(though skill tree is complicated, you just do the elemental chapters that include the elements of the character that you want to get points for and let it get some kills in it) and portals/raids are just harder versions of story modes and can be completed with relative ease(if you have good mythics).

This game was so damn peak in 2020, I remember having to queue up with other people to beat the new dio stage and how good "basic" units were. I remember Eren being a full meta unit just cuz it was the only summon unit in the game at the time. The game wasnt so out of whack that it was just a matter of having some old event unit with a broken ability and an insane trade value to be able to get on the leaderboard either at that time as well, idk, might just be nostalgia but I feel like the game's initial decline was when they introduced stardust as the currency for premium units and 6 star units and eventually 7 star units. It was just obvious that when battle passes, exclusive event units, the crappy "rare drop" units and dumb rare skins were added as well were all just cheap attempts of cashing out along with phasing out every "meta" strategy every month. It's so obvious ASTD is just trying to copy what AA was as well. I mean I used to like ASTD OVER AA because ASTD was more casual friendly to begin with and was DIFFERENT to AA, very early in ASTD you were able to somewhat "collect" every unit unlike AA but it's soooo far down the wrong path now. But tbh, anime tower defence games just suck nowadays anyways, they're all the exact same as eachother and really just offer different animations.

All the things u said were true but tbh the main thing that killed the game and the fun of it was that for example i was playing the game having fun etc etc it was normal units maps but when i returned after 1 month 15 days hardly the game had CHANGED. Like the whole map was changed there were 7 star units dungeons and NO tutorial. I had to watch yt videos to get to know the game and by the time i wouldve had the new roster new unite came. This rlly killed the fun as the game wasnt just fun anymore. It was a pain and a grind to get the units.

The thing that make astd fall First before unit like jenos 5 stars and uru (master) was meta for newbies But in future all the new units and game play changed I played astd since 2021 but i quitted the game after i got pucchi 7* After that i see all the new 7* units are getting AN CRAZY DMG like Johnny 7* lv 1 with buff he does around 700m dmg bruh all the old 7* does around 10-20m with buff and lv max some of them does good dmg but all star are making their game dying slowly now

The delayed updates wasn't the biggest deal. The competitors weren't the big deal either. they had so many chances and started so early but still lost to the new competitors. It's their own problem why they failed. The big deal is that this games takes forever to grind for me. In short these are the few problems that I believe are the true reasons: 1. Forever grinding. It takes ages to grind in this game. Not only Exp, but also the units. Every time this game came up with a meta unit. You have to work your guts to grind it. And in the next update, it's no longer meta again after the new characters come out. 2. Unobtainability of units. A lot of people like to collect as many units as possible or collect their favorite units. However, the amount of new characters this game adds is too much that they needed to make some unobtainable. It was the major reason why I quit because I couldn't obtain the 5000 units limited Water Goddess (Aqua). I still have 15ish summer fireworks laying in my backpack rn even though I haven't touched that game for years. 3. Number inflation & Unbalanced units. The 6 stars before and the 6 stars now are just soooo different. This can be changed easily by just simply changing the numbers but the devs never realized this problem. The number keeps going bigger... Like for what? So my old characters that I spent 20 hours grinding became useless? 4. Too much units. The reason why tower defense simulator was so popular over the years is because their goal was never to add as many characters as they can but to innovate them based on their current abilities (such as adding skins). Anime gives you an infinite amount of ideas but no one needs too many ideas. Having 500+ characters in your backpack is problematic for everyone, while in TDS you simply choose which characters you want to bring and there are more collaborations with your teammates. 5. Gacha, but not on the point. Initially the gacha system was okay because there was only a few 5 star characters that you can get. But now there are quite an amount of 5 star characters and if you want to get the one you want, you have to wait days or weeks for it to go on sale. If only they could have realized that no one want the 3, 4 star trash units and expanded the gacha system.

there are some points on which I agree such as the terrible update scheduels and delays, but I think that the downfall of astd is more an incompetence and gestion reason more than a "oh anime adventures and vanguards are better(visually atleast)" astd has a solid base, the evolving system is clearly better than av or aa, the units drop rate isnt made to make you spend on the currency of the game (on astd its 1% on the featured banners to get the new units or meta units on aa its 0,025 for the gojo 💀💀💀💀), you can be a f2p and have the same capacity as a p2w, but in other td, a p2w will clearly be better than a f2p, for example in av you have the stats rerolls, problem comes when you need to reroll to get better stats BUT the chances of getting them are under 1%, so guess what, you are forced to farm challenges, and you arent guaranteed that those challenges that change each hour will have a reroll dice, and the units dmg system, capacities, special abilities, nukes etc, is made better than aa and av imo, the real problem with astd is that the devs are LACKING; like really, they are not getting copyrighted whatsoever the units design gets fucked each update, naked gojo, naked sukuna, ugly katakuri etc etc, its a devs problem, they aint fixing it, the maps can be done so much better, content can be added so easily, we even had a pvp mode that THEY took out, yet we still can see our pvp rank on the game? like thats just lacking, taking out a feature but keeping something of it like a scrap, they took off the key that let you activate your mount, which is stupid since now you need to go on inventory blah blah blah not intuitive, even the new updates are lacking what it had before, dont take me wrong, their presentation videos are stunning and well made, but like, they can make the game SOOOOOOOO much better infinitely better; I play the game since the 3 first months of its release and I love it, and I lived through all its eras, the game was better before and idk why they keep making shortcuts when they can just make the game better and outpass any other game like they did before, but with this "big anouncement" thing that is taking soon 5 months (feels like yba), trash youtubers doing clickbait (yes blamspot and king luffy, both trash, 0 content, just clickbait and giving false hopes, hyping their units for months etc) and the lack of wanting to make things better from the devs, its killing the game, I just hope that the big astd news are real and that they are gonna make the biggest update and complete the game with all what it had and more (world 3 with the complete story mode, pvp mode, better maps, devs that are not lacking when there is a problem)
