Cristain and Alicients affair never happened in the books. I'm pretty sure that the writers did this and made them a thing just to please the shippers and to make Alicient and Cristain look like hypocrites. House of the dragon is incredibly bias painting the greens as evil even though they have a rightful claim to the throne. And painting the blacks as more heroic despite them being equally as bad if not worse. Damon killed his wife and groomed his own niece he's no good guy. They did this to make the Greens look like hypocrites so fans will root for team black more.

You contradict yourself. If the blacks are being painted as the good guy then surely they wouldnt have made Daemon groomed his niece and killed his wife and having him kill a child. So no, they arent painting the blacks as the good guy either. Also a lot of things happening in the show didnt happen in the book such as the Daemon killing his wife. However, its absolutely not for far fetched that a man who has previously slept with Rhaenyra and who is now very bitter and hateful towards her would also be sleeping with the Alicent who is mutually bitter and hateful towards her. It is also not far fetched that Alicent who has been sleeping with an old corpse and was basically pimped out by her dad and had to endure terrible marriage conditions (sexually wise at least) who also shares the same hatred for Rhaenyra would finally find some sexual liberation. It does makes sense. Does it make them hypocrites? Absolutely but they already were. Alicent was already sexually showing her feet before her relationship with Criston. And Alicent already made her children marry each other and reproduce, while previously referring to it as “weird Targaryen customs” etc. So its not far fetched at all. You just dont like the decisions and thats fine.

I like Alicent character, I like her sacrifice and I like how she’s always trying to do the right thing just like Rhaenyra, but Alicent was more active in the show and had greater sacrifice. Rhaenyra ep 1 & 2 was really good but I don’t see that again until ep10. So it feel like Alicent the underdog to me

Very Nice 🐉 I thought it was the direction of his character cause he is just name with empty plate in the books. I think the direction for his character with honor and a sense of justice gets corrupted by the end of season 1. In Season 2 it shows that's he is corrupted unjust and dishonorable. Ill have to wait to see where his character will end up

If Cristen Cole continued as he was in Season 1 he would be a stale ass character. His relationship with Allicent, in my opinion, is great writing it depicts two important things to me, 1. Individuals who portray themselves as virtuous and honourable are capable of breaking with their previous held notions of what it means to be "good". 2. The house and politics are breaking down the two characters to the most base level of their desires, pleasure and power. This leads them to forego their responsibilities, and run their war + kingdom without thought and reason.

I disagree, at least in season 1 Christen Cole had character and integrity (might be the same thing idk lol). But for this character to have such a dramatic change without any like important information given, it’s just questions how strong is convictions were, and a character that switch is conviction at any moment is just lazy. What if just Rhaenyra Just quit and don’t went to be queen, that will be very underwhelming and disappointing(also might be the same thing idk)

@b3animated but he had slept with Rhaenyra then with Allicent i think it's a very similar situation his integrity had been compromised ever since his first relationship with the princess. That's why I think it's interesting that he was so devastated by Rhaenyra's rejection and breaching his oath that at one point he thought to kill himself, but now he continues to do the same but with the Queen Regent. That's like an interesting character flaw, that I hope will be revealed further throughout the season. I'd agree with you, that it's terrible writing if the rest of the season doesn't handle Cole's moral code and answers the question "Why does he sleep with Allicent" but on the other hand it's also interesting for Allicent's character, cause a lot of her hatred jealousy towards Rhaenyra can be summed up in the scene where her son loses an eye and she cuts Rhaenyra. As her main problem with Rhaenyra is that she was duty bound but Rhaenyra had the freedom to do as she pleased. I think it'll be interesting to see where they take Cole and Allicent's relationship but also their individual characters after the death of Helaena's son.

People who think characters that stick to their morals or beliefs are "boring" are funny to me because you're pretending as if the alternative can't fall into the same category. Not everyone needs to be a sexual degenerate or commit taboo to be interesting.

@chidubemimari9015 I think in some some cases characters that stick with their morals can be very interesting but that's not the story of Ser Criston Cole. I quite like the character of Duncan the Tall from the hedge knight or like Ned Stark and Robb Stark.

@@b3animatedits actually incredibly clear as why and how 😂 he sees alicent as this pure mother virtuous angel woman because she saved him when he was about unalive himself. She saved him and he own her for that in his eyes. He is still bitter and scorned because Rhaenyra was not willing to give everything up for him after he willingly slept with her. Alicent is finally free from her corpse husband and has found some agency after being pimpled out and years of being a sex slave to Viserys. She has still has human desires and has agency over her own body somewhat. So who else to explore that with then with a man who has been by her side for very long and who believes her to be this virtuous angel send from the heavens. Nevermind the fact that they share the same goals and hateful feelings and behaviors for Rhaenyra. Ofcourse this was bound to happen.

All true and now that I’ve calm down what you’re saying, makes a lot more sense to me now, but when Cole confess to Alicent about his relationship with Rhaenyra, I remember him saying he didn’t like that he was doing something bad and was not punished for it, and with his I’m not a whore thing, I felt like this character theme would be about honor and redemption. I think it’s ok for him to hate Rhaenyra for all the things you said, but I believe his main region should be for her taking his honor. Also it’s been like five days since Alicent husband died and this happened, come on, this is one of the reasons why this doesn’t make too much sense to me. They need to show more scenes of them together with her as a widow or them with more sexual chemistry for this to fully makes sense to me.
