Right on, Dr. Cloud! I am glad to have discovered your teachings years ago. This woman would have been hurt evergreen more if she'd gone in and talked with a pastor about this! I'm so thankful that you show GRACE and that psychology and the Bible really do go together! 🙌🙏May God bless you!

My guess is this poor lady didn’t even realize she was hurt

??? How could she not know she was hurt when her husband cheated on her???! That is an obvious and very significant hurt!

I agree with Leanne as the lady is blaming herself so much without feeling angry

So disappointed!!!!!!!- he dismissed female sexuality completely. My needs for sex with a man is completely separate from anything that occurred in the relationship with my father. I seek love and sex when I pursue a romantic relationship. No other relationship with a male will fill the need that sexual/romantic relationship does. Sexual desires in a female are not caused by wounding any more than a guy's sex drive is maladaptive and caused by wounds. Both males and females have sex drives and we both have to control ourselves and submit it to God's rules. The "daddy wound" theory is misogynistic and when women buy into it their true sexuality is disrespected and denied.

Also, it sounds like the caller has a husband wound more than a dad wound. How can you overlook the effect of that?? Being cheated on can mak a person want to prove their desirability or it can make someone resentful and negative about relationships.

He did say there were a lot of dynamics and he was telling her at least from one voice that the need for a man is biblical

I honestly don't think he would disagree with you. He's just trying to point out that though love and sex are different, they can get tangled up with each other really easily. He didn't tell her that her sexual need isn't real; he told her to make sure that she is also meeting her other real needs for male love and affirmation too, because they interact with and affect each other. None of our struggles live in a vacuum isolated from all of our other struggles! Healing must be holistic or it isn't really healing
