This scene could take place much further into the season after something like Viren adds her to his collection of Elf coins (like he did to Runnan and I'm assuming to Rayla's parents). Then before the end Callum figures out how to undo the spell to release them all ... at least that is what I'm theorising.

However, I am being told the Graphic Novel is canon and thus Rayla would have left between Season 3 and 4, so him thinking about her after she left would lead me to suspect this scene being in Episode 1. Just theories for now. All we can do is speculate.

It's great to see some old faces with entirely new looks for the fourth season but the bigger question still remains as to what exactly happened to Rayla after all this time. Judging by the look on Callum's face while holding Rayla's sword with sadness could mean that something bad may have happened to her following the two year time skip. Even now her current where abouts remain virtually unknown and we're still left in the dark about it.

So in the Through The Moon novel it shows that Rayla left Ezran and Callum to protect them and she went searching for viren. Callum and Rayla were planing to go search for him together but Rayla left when Callum was sleeping because she didn't wanted him to get hurt.

That sounded kind of like Ezran - I think it's interesting that they've chosen to go the route of keeping Sasha (Ezran's voice actor) on for this season, given that he's older now. I think her voice suits his personality perfectly and I LOVE her in the role. I hope they keep her for the remaining seasons as well!

That depends. If she can do a older and more masculine sounding voice like voice actresses on "The Simpson's" and "Rugrats"/"All Grown Up" can with their characters (both as children and teens) then she *may* stay in the role as Ezran. Otherwise they may recast the character when he's a teenager.

SPOILERS In the comic, they end up discovering that Viren is in this cocoon-like thing and is somehow in between the living and spirit world. Rayla wants to go find out what's happening on her own, but Callum says that they should go together. The next morning, Rayla is gone. Presumably to look for Viren and figure out what is happening. No one knows where she is at the moment.

I feel the same way, when was the last time there was an animated series (Anime does not count) where the couple will go through all the good and bad parts in a relationship, and that instead of breaking up, they truly try to get through it together So yeah I also hope that we don't get the typical cliché drama that Callum and Rayla will break up, and when the final conclusion of the TDP saga ends they get back together

Personally I like Soren's appearance. Callum is very handsome as an older teen. Ezran looks so handsome and grown up as 12 year old. He certainly looks a lot like his dad, though he has his mother's personality.

I’m sure Wonderstorm knows better then to kill off Rayla. Callum with her blade is a sign SOMETHING happen. It would greatly upset a multitude of fans, Rayllum shippers and general fans who just like her. But come on, like we need to see someone with his voice lose a girl like her again.
