Getting way less time to practice and work with your teammates is a big deal, not to mention the risk of injury. The difference was that Duke with Laettner won back to back championships and Laettner made some clutch shots and he won the player of the year in 1992. It looks silly now if you factor in their professional careers but back then Laettner was considered the better college player.

And yes, the reason you see so many EU players in the NBA right now is precisely because of that: there are no Magic Johnsons and Jordans anymore in the NBA and every mediocre European can play there (back then it was only the best of the best like Divac, Kukoc, Petrovic or late Sabonis). @@IHTLS This is most definitely the greatest team in the world, all first ballot hall of famers except for one kid. Many of which are the greatest at their positions, popularity wise it is not the greatest sport. The most played sport is soccer because all you need is a soccer ball thats why kids in africa play soccer, you just use two trees as a goal and all you need is a cheap little ball. Greatest sport in america right now is definitely football without a doubt. But there is NO team that is even CLOSE to the Dream Team.

NFL and NBA brings people in the United States together but the FIFA world cup brings the whole world together thats why the world loves SOCCER!!!!
